What makes a great website?
A frictionless user experience, a distinctive design that people can remember and clean, functional code that makes it run swiftly on all screen sizes.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
How are you? What are your short and long term goals? What do you know about your target audience? What kind of design inspires and motivates you? What's the best piece of design that you've seen in the last year or so? Do you like to collaborate?
Describe your creative process.
We start by asking a lot of questions – about yourself, your business and what you think will fire-up your target audience towards your brand. We then use those answers to inform our research – we'll collect information and visual references and then have another conversation with you to go over the research and see if it influences your ideas. Next up is firming-up a brief which we will write-up and present to you. Once that is confirmed, we'll begin the visual design process – sketching on paper and on computer and working through concepts. It's a process of iteration, with plenty of conversations and presentations of the ideas inbetween, until we get to an effective final solution.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Information about yourself; your expectations for how the project will proceed; how involved in the design process you'd like to be – and how available you will be on a daily basis for communication. Logistical elements like: required delivery date; who else needs to be involved in the process; what devices you'll be using to review our designs throughout the process. Legal company information for the purpose of setting up contracts and payment schedules.
What do you love most about your job?
The creative process as described above – it's a really fun job! Graphic Design is really a passion of ours and it's a joy to come in to work and do this everyday. Working with friendly, professional, understanding people is the icing on the cake – this is a really important aspect and makes the job worthwhile.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The business grew out of demand for our individual design work – through word of mouth we were getting more and more work and decided that it would be a good idea to establish a studio. We did so in Berlin because there's such an epic wealth of Graphic Design history here that it's a great place to be inspired.
Why should our clients choose you?
We're passionate. We're in it for the creativity and the opportunity to do our next best piece of work. We're young and hungry but experienced enough to know how to run a project efficiently – and get it done on time. All of clients enjoy working with us and come back to us again and again.
