Rob was our wedding photographer last June, and we couldn't be happier with the way our pictures came out! He really captured the fun, relaxed atmosphere. Our formal pictures were great, but the best shots ended up being the candid and unplanned moments throughout the day. He even surprised us by bringing a drone and getting some breathtaking arial shots of the event. Afterwards, we got all our photos with multiple resolutions - we also got them fairly quickly (couple of weeks after hte event). Best wedding photographer ever! Rob and his fellow photographer Frances shot over 2000 pictures, both formal and candid, and there are so many great pix that I've had to re-order. Rob made it easy for us to enjoy our great day because he is SO good to work with. Frances took wonderful informal shots of the children. Various families could request family photos all during the day, so our activities were not interrupted by waiting in line at the photographer station. The final archival prints are gorgeous! In the process of whittling down our choices for a wedding photographer, Rob became the obvious choice after meeting with him. As you’ll find out yourself, he has a terrific attitude and a real passion for his craft. You can tell from speaking and working with him that capturing those special moments and showcasing it for you and your loved ones is what drives him. We told Rob that we were mostly looking for candid shots (with a few traditional poses of course) as we wanted the photos to have a more authentic feel. We definitely got the candid shots we wanted, and much more! Rob was able to capture the most intimate moments that lasted for only a split second, moments that we never planned for but are now memorialized forever. Everyone enjoyed working with him as he has this knack for disarming people and making them feel comfortable – the multitude of laughing and goofy photos is a testament to this. He was incredibly adaptable and open to all suggestions; I promise you will not find a photographer easier or more fun to work with (he was even so kind as to make a couple fun GIFs for us). I’ll leave it at this, I am a top star chef that caters private events and weddings. Having worked in the industry for over 30+ years, I about have seen it all… at least I thought. An all-star wedding photographer amazes me, and even to this day, looking back, I still can see and am reminded of the dedication and devotion he brings to the table. I have not seen the final images, however I did see Rob work, and that my friends is what brings me to this review. I contacted Rob through Yelp and he was very proactive and responsive. He worked with my budget and requirements for a family photo shoot, promptly e-mailed his quote, and then followed up (this NEVER happens in Portland) a week or so later. He was able to accomodate my last minute scheduling request and was communicative and prompt. The photos are absolutely beautiful. We had a 1 hour session and have at least one perfect shot from every single pose/variation we did. My 3-year old was not the most accomodating but Rob and his wife were able to capture smiles and beautiful moments. I could not be happier with the pics and overall experience. Hello Everyone, We were looking for a professional photographer to cover our son's first birthday party. I had never used a professional before so started my search on YELP (searching for event photographers in the Portland area). I spoke to two people but am extremely glad that I went with Rob. He has done an awesome job for us. I signed him up for 2 h and he took more images than we ever expected. He managed to capture every detail and all the key moments in the party in amazing image quality. These are pictures that we will cherish for years to come. I do want to mention that Rob is very easy to work with. He a friendly guy who patiently listens to his customers needs and will also advise amateurs like myself about how to get the best shots. My sister was happy that Rob gave her a couple of tips for portrait photos and she looks like a TV star in some of them :)) He didnt have to but he did.... I highly recommend this guy. He charges a little bit to the higher side but when you see the outcome of his work, we felt it was totally worth it. Also worth mentioning is that Rob told us he will take 7-10 days to work on the pictures and send us a link of the processed images. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find an email from him the next morning. We really didn’t care much about photography, and even at a time of spending so much money on our wedding day in Portland already we were hesitant to spend even more on photography. We saw RobProPhoto’s reviews so we thought we’d give them a call, and find out about pricing. Soon enough we met with Rob personally! and explained to him our situation. Rob understood working within our budget and putting together a perfect package just for us. 1 week after our wedding, we received our photos on an archival DVD with a few beautiful prints.

RobProPhoto took photos for our engagement portrait session which were then used for our save the date cards (ordered through RobProPhoto), our rehearsal dinner, and our wedding ceremony plus an extra portrait session to trash the dress. Everything turned out fantastic and better than we hoped for. We’re not super photography buffs, but we do appreciate good composition and workmanship. Rob’s knowledge led us through a great path along our journey, and gave us memories now I’ll never forget.

Rob does everything by hand, and I think it is amazing… his skill that is. He envisions the photographs before he takes them… it’s like he knows what’s about to happen before we even do! He prints the photos by hand in his darkroom, and on top of all this, he actually hand builds his own museum grade picture frames using only non-powered hand tools, claiming he likes to take his time and feel every cut.

First off, what a cool old-school young guy with a great amount of talent.

Second off, We got him for our wedding! and so glad we found him amongst all the other photographers out there.

We chose Rob for our wedding photography needs. Meeting with him beforehand at the free consultation, and viewing his packages and prints in person, really gave us a good idea on what we ultimately wanted. We had our wedding at the local McMenamins here in Portland, and Rob really made us all feel comfortable (especially me). You get the sense that he has been doing this for a while as he can either decide to blend in (totally forgetting he's even in the room sometimes), or he'll totally take charge of the formal portraits with the large family... we had a large family.
Now we have completed our wedding, have received our Archival DVD with all the photos, and some beautiful hand made prints that supposedly lasts lifetimes. Honestly I've never seen a print this good, and neither has my hubby nor my mom! It seems that my Aunt will be hiring him to take photos for my Cousins upcoming wedding in Montana. Rob did a terrific job for me when I needed some professional head shots to start my real estate career. We ended up going to Laurelhurst Park where he found a great natural backdrop for the photos. He was able to get just the perfect lighting for the shots. I have received more compliments from his work that from any other photograph that I ever posted.
