Robina Boehnke Counselling and Coaching
Broughty Ferry, Angus
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist based in Broughty Ferry, Dundee and I offer a range of services for individuals, specifically around anxiety, phobias and depression. I will help you to develop a clear perspective of what you want to achieve and support you to reach your desired outcomes through evidence-based counselling, coaching or hypnotherapy, or a mixture of those approaches, depending on your unique situation and needs.
I work within an integrative resource-oriented framework, where both of us combine our unique resources, strengths and perspectives to find solutions that work for you, tailored to your particular situation and circumstances.
My education and training includes a five-year full-time Psychology degree and a three-year research doctorate in Psychobiology in which I studied the human stress system. I also have more than 3.5 years of additional training in counselling, coaching and hypnotherapy, including in solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and family/systemic therapy.
My specialist areas include stress management, depression and anxiety, and relationship issues, but I also have experience in a host of other issues. Please contact me so that we can discuss whether I can offer support for your particular situation and you can find out more about me and how I work on my website.

Counselling can help you if you feel emotionally or mentally unwell. This may affect one or more areas of your life, such as your ability to manage your personal life, the quality of your relationships and your social life, or your work. As a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, I recognise the uniqueness of each of my clients and together we will develop tailored solutions that deliver to you the change you desire. Due to my extensive training, my toolbox contains techniques from a range of different evidence-based approaches and I will suggest to you those that I think will work best for your particular situation. The main models I work with are solution focused therapy, systemic therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I offer you an empathic, trustworthy and non-judgemental space where you can explore, develop, learn and grow.
Coaching serves your long-term development. Through coaching, you can become more competent and successful in relation to your own defined standards and goals, as well as ultimately taking responsibility for your own growth and development independent of me. In line with my training and experience as a Psychologist, I offer developmental coaching, which focuses on facilitating learning and growth of my clients. I specialise in stress relief, stress management and its associated symptoms. Chronic stress can lead to a host of medical and psychological problems, so learning to manage and avoid it can help prevent a range of other issues that may affect you later in life. Through my training in systemic therapy, I can also support you find solutions for issues you have with others at your workplace, for example your colleagues and managers. Life coaching focuses on developmental goals you want to achieve in your personal or social life. I can support you, if you want to make life-style changes such as loosing weight, changing eating or exercise patterns or if you want to stop smoking. I can also offer you tools and techniques from hypnotherapy and other approaches to help you achieve those goals and help you sustain them in the long-term.
Stress management courses, trainings and workshops
I offer courses, workshops and sessions on stress management. The next 8-week course will run in Autumn and is open to all who are interested (see my website for details). I also offer shorter sessions between 2 hours and full-day workshops for businesses, public institutions and charities. More extensive workshops spanning multiple sessions are also possible. Every session will be specially tailored to your and your group's needs. Sessions are highly interactive and geared towards providing the audience with an understanding of stress, as well as techniques and skills to cope with it more healthily. Acute and chronic stress have a variety of negative effects on people's physical and mental health, from cardiovascular disease to anxiety and depression. The courses/sessions are therefore preventative in nature, as they aim to teach techniques and skills to help reduce the likelihood of those long-term chronic illnesses and to improve the quality of life.
