Robert Luk Studio offers actor & corporate headshots as well as conceptual portraits and product photography. Our sessions are tethered which means each image taken appears on a 27 inch monitor. This gives us the ability to make corrections during your session. We comfortable shooting on location or in studio.

We recently used Robert for a band photo shoot and were excited by the process and thrilled with the results. His experience and expertise are unparalleled. I think what we all really appreciated was how thorough he was but also efficient. We collaborated on the look and vibe we wanted and he fleshed it out without wasting a lot of the band’s time to get the shot just right. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Every photoshoot is different. It doesn’t matter if I’ve taken 100’s of headshots. Everyone is different in their needs. That’s why I always talk to or meet with the client first to go over details to make sure we are on the same page. That’s the only way to provide the desired images.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
To ensure I provide the client with the right images I always ask a ton of questions like, “How will the image be used”? “Is it for print or web”? “What type of roles do you cast for”? There is a huge difference between a headshot and a actor headshot. Based on their answers I’m able to customize their session to fit their needs.
What do you love most about your job?
I travel a lot for work and enjoy meeting new people and seeing new places. I also do Boudoir sessions and 70% of the women get very emotional once they see themselves in a modern or vintage sexy image. They can’t believe it’s them. It’s a great feeling seeing them smile or shading tears of joy. One client told me her husband carried the frame photo around the house with him. I love hearing the feedback.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always had an eye for design and composition. I would create Birthday cards and Mother’s Day cards when I was young so picking up a camera at age 13 was no surprise. I knew back then I wanted to be a photographer. Years later I picked up my photography degree from Art Institute of Atlanta.
