What makes a great website?
From a user's perspective, clean design and easy navigation.
From a company's perspective, great content that's relevant and always changing to ensure high rankings on search engines.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What's your dream outcome of appointing us?
This is an interesting question that often unearths a client's real motivation - some clients simply want to increase visits to their website or numbers of followers on social media. Others want to be in the national press so their mum can see how well they're doing! While many marketing managers want us to deliver great campaigns that help enhance their reputation.
Describe your creative process.
It all starts with a blank piece of paper ... Generally, this is followed by a lot of desk research, then a good old brainstorm in which we all chip in ideas and decide which is the best (judged on a number of criteria).
Each creative journey is different so it's hard to describe. All we know is our ideas are loved and hugely successful.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Pretty much what I've said above, what do you want to achieve? Only when we really understand what they want can we give the best advice. Clients often have a set idea of what they need. By being open and honest from the off, we might suggest things they hadn't even considered. All successful client/agency relationships boil down to trust.
What do you love most about your job?
Communicating and being creative. The team here at RMS are all people people and brilliant generators of ideas and great writing. Our love of working collaboratively with clients, each other, the media and other relevant parties, means we all just live and breathe the job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Clients - in my case quite literally. Helping clients raise their profile has always been my passion - but it was a client that inspired me to make the leap and set up in business. This not only gave me the confidence that I was good at what I was doing, it gave me confidence that my approach was in demand. I've never looked back. It was the best thing I've ever done!
Why should our clients choose you?
We are creative, nice people that deliver results. From the moment you meet us, it's immediately obvious that we love what we're doing and we're not afraid to be different. As well as being creative, we pride ourselves on being organised, all of which makes the job of clients easier.
