Ever mindful of the economy and new technology, I incorporated RK&S Smart Solutions, Inc in 2012 after researching and considering the economic and financial displacements caused by the financial crisis of 2008. The elimination of the Glass/Steagall Act resulted in the consolidation of commercial and investment financial institutions which generated excessive fraud, greed and risk in the financial system. The fraud and greed generated significant risk and caused financial institutions to consider bankruptcy while entire capital markets plunged and required the infusion of billions of dollars by the Federal Government to stabilize the solvency of the capital markets and financial institutions.
Massive terminations in all industries and the lack of financing resulted in the "Great Recession", while at the same time an increase in technology was transitioning the economy.

With nearly 20 years of continuous progression and achievement, including 16+ years in leadership positions and on-going improvement in my knowledge base, I applied my experience, expertise and passion in preparing mission and vision statements to generate a business plan and develop a model to assist businesses and executives resolve problems, restructure financial and operating factors and increase firm value, using excellent ideas to develop smart solutions.

My research indicated significant defects in risk management, financial and operational controls, cybersecurity, preparing and understanding analytics and corrosive cultures. Vision statements were non-existent and the work culture was neither collaborative nor creative. Initiated teams of executives and staff, training them in lean thinking and six sigma and developing vision statements. As improvements accelerated, cultures evolved employing as necessary change management, project management and comparison between pre-defined analytics and real world results.

With more and more technology entering the industry, accountants and bookkeepers have more capacity to focus on how your business works, rather than just on what the numbers are. For bookkeepers, this means less time is spent identifying which expenses go where and more time can be spent double checking entries. For accountants, it means you’ll spend less time verifying the work that a bookkeeper or other employee has performed. Instead, accountants can now help solve the business problems you have. This means you can hire an accountant as a consultant, addressing a problem with them as a member of your business instead of as a contractor.
