I have been a member for eight years thus far.  Before that I was at Lifetime and before that I was at LA Fitness.  I like Riviera the best of all.  In the entire eight years my monthly fee has not gone up.  We pay $125 for the wife and myself plus $100 a year for a locker so I can keep stuff there and never need to bring sneakers or swim suit or deodorant, etc... it's all there.  I also like that you get towels when you arrive.  I greatly enjoy the hot tub - adults only- and that they keep kids out of the locker room/ how cool is that?  It's private, clean, and quiet every time!  There are several work out areas with tons of equipment and free weights.  I have never once had to wait- or limit my time in anything.  There's basketball, tennis, in and outdoor pools, and sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi.  I am there sometimes for hours at a time.  There are plenty of free classes - yoga and jazzercise things which my wife goes to regularly.  I have never once had a problem with anyone unfriendly.  Yes - the staff rotated a lot but I think it's bc kids go to college, etc and these are often temporary positions - i can't see that as a negative- what's the big deal?The clients are generally empty nesters like us - but there are a lot of families too.  There are personal trainers you can hire at fair prices- the wife and I have totally achieved our fitness goals here and we did not anywhere else.  Also, someone said something bad about the walking/ jogging track they have - it's probably the best one I ever ran on / it's made of a soft cushiony material so it's easier on the feet - ten times around us a mile - it's excellent.The place is always clean.They always add new things.They keep it up well - even though it appears 70s - Esque in some areas.I would say go get a tour - ok it's not modern but at least you don't have thousands of people there all the time!  And the pools are perfectly refreshing and perfectly clean at all times.I am a long time member and I also go the Charter Fitness bc I also train there - the Riviera is definitely my preferred gym - it's big, huge, private, clean, has a spin room, free weight area, machines I use, and an awesome jogging path.  The poor reviews are unfair to them- they try very hard to keep members going.   They dont go over the top to kiss your butt but they are in deed friendly enough. We were just married on July 19, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tinley Park and followed our ceremony with the most amazing Wedding Reception at the Riviera Country Club in Orland Park. We knew from the moment we met the owners and walked into the Country Club a year prior that this was the perfect place and venue for our reception! We had viewed over 6 venues in one day and came across the Riviera Country Club and stopped in that day as one of our last visits. The moment we walked in and met the owners; Karen and Dan, we felt comfortable and right at home. Out of every place we visited not one would give us a tasting without making a deposit. Karen and Dan welcomed us with open arms and asked if we would like to come back later that day for a tasting. Of course, we were super excited and did. Wow!!! We were so impressed, not only did we have a tasting but a private tasting for two of a full course meal in the very room we were looking at booking. The food was so amazing and ambiance of the room that we were sold immediately. We made our deposit and booked the date and LakeView Room!

Throughout the entire year process we had amazing communication with Karen and Dan as we made our final deposits, finalized our menu, colors, decor, etc. We can honestly say there was no stress because everything was taken care on their end perfectly! Even on the wedding day they worked so wonderfully with our bridal party, guests, our DJ, and photographers. We were able to enjoy our reception and guests without any concerns.

The week prior to the wedding we were in contact with our seating, last min requests, and dropped off things we needed to finish decorating our room. Karen was so flexible and let us come a day early to set up our gift table, favors, and table seating. The room was completely decorated to with centerpieces we fell in with and our colors with purple and black runners down the tables and our up lighting for our head table was set to go!

On the day of our wedding our DJ and Photographer were able to set up with ease and worked amazing with Karen and Dan as a team! We had approx 150 guests attend our reception. Our guests had amazing hor 'd'oeuvres and open bar prior to our dinner our. Family style gourmet dinner with cream of chicken an d rice soup, delicious salad with a raspberry vinaigrette, mostaccioli with beef sauce, sausage and peppers, fresh green beans, fresh mashed potatoes, fried chicken, beef sirloin, coffee, beverages, and ice cream served with our wedding cake. We also had an open bar package for hors d'oeuvre hour, after dinner, and a chocolate fountain that all of our guests enjoyed to the max! Our guests, bridal party, family were at awe by the ambiance and beauty of the room, the service, and quality of food. We even were able to get beautiful pictures taken outside by the little lake and gazebo out back; which was also a beautiful view from inside our room! No words can describe how intimate and beautiful the day was!

There are no words to describe how stunning our reception was and how smooth, calm, and amazing our planning for the big day and the actual day was because of Karen and Dan! Not only did they make our day complete but our Reception was everything we every dreamed of and we highly recommend their venue and services to anyone planning a very special occasion such as a wedding, reception, retirement party, anniversary party, birthday, etc. We are so blessed and thankful we chose the Riviera Country Club for our wedding reception venue and will treasure the memories for years to come! We will definitely use their services for any special event we may have in the future as well.

The Riviera Country Club and the owners; Karen and Dan , hold a special place in our hearts and we will be forever grateful that they made our Reception a dream come true.

I loved how everything was included in the pricing! Cocktail hour (appetizers and drinks), food, open bar, cake cutting, white satin chair covers and bows, white table linens, beautiful white rose centerpieces, table runner (you can pick your color), backlights (pick your color), unlimited wine during dinner, private outside gazebo, private bridal room, gratuity and tip were included!
The food was delicious! Our guests raved about everything but especially the cream of chicken soup, fried chicken, and REAL mashed potatoes! The Riviera has an extensive bar list- they even do frozen drinks! The bartenders made sure that everyone was satisfied and the parent tables/head tables received cocktailing during the dinner!
We got great deals when we booked including an outdoor ceremony at the private gazebo and 6 months use of the Country Club!

We were very happy to have chosen Riviera as our wedding venue.
Karen worked closely with us during the planning process. She was very easy to talk to and very punctual . I trusted her with every step of the way. She wasn't just the planner she was just like a best friend and a family member. On the day of the wedding, she was very professional and made sure that everything was perfect and on time. Food was delicious, service beyond awesome. Cake served with ice cream, chocolate fountain was the BOMB. Karen and Gabe made sure that every request we had will be done.
They are not like any other place I spoke to before I choose our venue.
They are not about Nickeling-and-diming, they are about the best service, they about giving you the best day of your life and making your requests and dreams to come true. Balloons no problem, flower petals no problem, your touch-ups no problem, whatever you ask for is no problem.
Best venue ever and we have been to 2 weddings this year, one I mansion one in Hotell. Still Riviera WON!!!! love you guys !!!!!!! More...

From the moment we met Karen and Dan, I felt right at home. They were super friendly, easy to talk to and made sure we were happy. They continued to say “this is your day” and made every accommodation possible. We were drawn to The Riviera because of this. The pricing was affordable, the food was great and they have a beautiful gazebo with a view for an outdoor ceremony. Karen answered emails promptly and we never felt rushed in any decision we made. Come wedding day, we experienced challenges, however Karen and Dan expertly guided us and ensured everything stayed on schedule and things ran smoothly. It was perfect and we are so happy with our choice. It was filled with love, and laughter. Our family and friends are still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding. Where to begin. I am a terrible bride and a huge procrastinator. We had contacted Karen a year before our wedding and were interested but I decided to postpone to wedding because I had literally nothing done. Fast forward to about 5 months before my wedding and I still had nothing done. I contacted Karen and surprisingly my date was available! Everything from there on out was wonderful and smooth sailing. Karen is the best. She doesn’t nickel and dime and the service and professionalism you get is over and above what I expected. It was a joy everytime we talked, and she wasn’t scared to stay in contact with you!! The food was great, we did family style and the southern fried chicken was the biggest hit of the night! Karen also recommended our DJ, Steve, with Em Cee Squared and he was also amazing! No cheesy dj here. I am not a picky person in general but gave him the few songs I requested and the genres we liked and it was amazing!!! Also, it was literally less than a month from our wedding and Steve moved his personal schedule around just to accommodate us. I couldn’t be happier!! I literally have zero complaints. The only thing would be that it was a little warm inside, however we do live in Chicago and we are in that weird period from cold to hot and temperatures everywhere, even in stores tend to be whacky because of the weather. The air was on and it wasn’t the venues fault at all! It was literally no big deal. We all had an amazing time and I wish we could do it all over again!!! The outside is beautiful for pictures, and the hall is spacious. It is decorated and the uplighting was amazing. We got to pick our table runner colors as well. Everything is included. Literally everything. The service from our servers and bartender was also exceptional. Everyone was polite, smiling and doing an awesome job. I really couldn’t have asked for a better day. How accommodating everyone was, especially because I waited til last minute on so many things. Karen set up all my DIY and candles for me and it was perfect! She even made sure I got asparagus for dinner! ;) I would absolutely recommend Karen and the Riviera for all wedding needs and even just for an awesome party. I still talk to Karen even after the wedding. My day was perfect. I was able to remember so much of it and really enjoy it. Without Karen and the Riv it wouldn’t have been the same at all. We were just married at the Riviera this past Friday, May 24, 2019. We had our ceremony in one of the outdoor gazebos, and our reception right after. The ceremony was everything we hoped it would be and the reception room was beautiful.
The first time we met with Karen, she was very knowledgeable and kind, answered all of our questions, and was always very responsive in getting back to us. We decided to book the venue pretty much immediately after meeting with her. The food tasting was adorable. They set up a table for 2 in the middle of the dance floor in the room where you will have your reception and let you taste everything.
The day of the wedding, the room looked gorgeous. We received so many compliments on the food, especially the fried chicken. Karen was there every step of the way to make sure everything was perfect: the rehearsal, the uplighting, the seating, the DJ area, the cake table, the memorial we had for our parents, everything!! She was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Our bartender was wonderful as well. It truly was the perfect day and we would recommend Riviera to anyone. Had my wedding here last week and it was amazing! Food was wonderful, they were super accommodating and Karen was amazing at always getting back to me asap with any questions I had. I checked out a few places before looking here, and once I looked here I knew i was going to have my wedding here. Their pricing is super affordable for everything that is included. Really nice place to workout, swim or play tennis. The equipment is older but still in good shape for the most part and there is plenty of it.  Pretty sure all the classes are free and they have them in the bike room  - very nice bikes - and in the aerobics studio. The swimming pools are both well-maintained and kept at good temperatures and there are more than enough seats by the outside pool and some good spots to get out of the sun.  Tennis courts inside and out.  Again. Well maintained. Best of all, there are lots of friendly people,  including the owners of this nice family-owned club.  Except George.  He can be cranky.  But it's not his fault.  He is old. More...

The Riviera was more than I could have asked for, we worked with Karen and she was so amazing and accommodating from start to finish. I used the Riviera for our wedding venue and I couldn't have been happier. Not only did we have everything we needed but because the ceremony space was just outside of the reception, it made it possible to have my elderly grandparents who can't handle standing or walking for very long to be present for both events. Karen and her entire staff were so helpful and always happy to help accommodate what we wanted. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful, and we got nothing but compliments on how everything was. We had our wedding at the Riviera on 9/7/18. It was absolutely amazing!! The food was absolutely perfect!! Karen responded to everything immediately whenever we had any questions. They made sure the wedding party and all guests were well taken care of the entire night!! The servers were extremely polite and took care of all our special requests! Lennie who took care of the head table and the parents tables was beyond extremely professional and attentive to all of our needs. We had our wedding at the Riviera Sept 2nd and it was truly amazing! The hall is beautiful, the outside is breathtaking!
I can go on and on but the food........I have never had better chicken anywhere in my life all the food was amazing. The staff is outstanding, they go out of their way to make you feel totally comfortable and make everything very easy for you.
