This is a hidden gem in the heart of downtown. They occupy the space below the famous Starlite room. One of Edmonton’s greatest live music venues. If you happen to be there for a show, come early and pop into River City for a bite to eat. They have an awesome menu with clever music related names for all the items. The menu was created and prepared by a red seal chef, and you can tell. It is not your typical pub grub. They always have a new soup for you to try and I haven’t been disappointed yet! My personal favourite menu item was the “3 Cheese Down” which is a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato jam. I say it WAS my favourite because I recently tried the “King” which is currently not on the menu but it is a feature sandwich. It’s a fried Banana and peanut butter sandwich with bacon. It is INCREDIBLE! Elvis would be proud! Besides the food, the staff are all well trained and very friendly. They also have something fun going on every night like Trivia, open jams, vintage video games, or Karaoke. Go show this gem the love it deserves, you won’t be sorry! More...
Absolutely the best grilled bacon and cheese and tomato jam I have ever had. Called three cheese down. Atmosphere fantastic. Menu Was seriously entertaining. Great reminiscing. I ate at blue plate diner last night which is a favorite for me. But this food was top notch. For me better than blue plate. More...
Edmonton needs more spots like this!
Great place to eat and drink. Came for Taco night and to listen to kareoke. Staff is friendly, quick and the food is great. Free wifi is available. There is moderate amount of seating as it is a bit small. There is public access bicycle tools and has a bike stand to lock up your bike. Came on trivia night which was amusing. More...
Great service and fantastic food. Drinks were excellent and everything was very reasonably priced.
Great place to have a drink and a bite to eat they have events most nights like trivia, karaoke, and Sunday jam
Great locally owned spot with food made with love, from locally sourced products and an awesome menu full of musical themed item names and genious coctail creations (kombucha brewed on site in the coctails is amazing with or without liqour!). The staff is awesome everyone is treated like family both staff and guests and it is truly a great time having a bite to eat or stopping in to meet some friends.
Also it is worth mentioning the place is located below one of the coolest music venues and its a great spot to go grab a burger or some wings (or one of the many vegan options if you’re into that) after you’ve been dancing all night!
I have eaten almost the whole menu and I can’t even reccommend anything it is all great, go there and there will be something you enjoy for sure! (The pulled pork is amazing and the all the smoked meats are smoked on site [smoked vegan options are smoked in their own smoker] ) More...
Great atmosphere, service and food. Went for brunch here and have to say this is now one of my favorite spots in downtown Edmonton. Food was super delicious, I got Benny and the Jets and I would get it again, hands down. Sever was really friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. More...
Always a great place to eat!
I like corn bread
Great food and great drinks. Awesome staff
This my second visit and I'm really glad I gave it another shot. The first time I went I would have given it a 2/5. It wasn't very busy the night I went in and the atmosphere was dour. The staff seemed off in their own little world I felt like I was intruding by being there. The food was just okay. What a big difference this time around. The staff was very friendly and the food and kombucha were excellent. I had the The Ayatollah of Jack and Rolla and the cheese and jalapeno Korn bread (sooo good). I thought kombucha tasted like puke before I tried RCRH's Red Boocha, I was surprised by how much I loved it. The portion sizes are a bit small for the price but it's really good meal regardless. Glad I went back and I'm definitely going to again in the future. More...
I had the Nachos and every chip was evenly covered. Loved the salsa it came with and I even enjoyed the garnish of green onion on the top. So far the best nachos in the city! More...

Food is amazing and service most of the time is on point. Reading the menu is always entertaining, and the staff is amazing. Keep it up and hope to see you all soon!!!! More...
Very nice room. Had one drink and a couple of wings. There seemed to be some service staff there but I was urged to go to the bar and wasn't checked on after that.
Great food and serves Pepsi!
A hidden gem in downtown Edmonton. Super great.
They got something for everyone, every night of the week, perfect for shirking your adult responsibilities...pro tip: Wednesday night is open mic, and Sunday gets LIT for Yahtzee and funk
Drop in regularly after work to unwind with friends and let rush hour run its course. Have gotten to know multiple members of the personable staff well.I think the interior is much improved over its previous incarnation as Brix, not sure what people expect out of such an old, well-loved building. As with The Starlite upstairs, some things just aren't straight any longer (the floor/ceiling) and I think that adds character. The lighting is soft with cleverly re-purposed drum cymbals and simple contemporary detailing elsewhere. Where some places put up an excess of cheap panelling made to look like older, richer materials to renovate, there's thickly applied paint in an attractive shade here. Somehow I'm not bothered that it's a windowless basement space. One thing I haven't checked out yet are Thursday night's music and the weekend brunch. In fact, I may have left my phone charger there last night-- See you again soon! More...
Good food, nice place and cool staff
Food was so good. Not the nicest place but don't let that deter your choice. Cubano is a must.

Killer establishment! Brunch was amazing (komboocha and KoRn bread as well? Best!) and the staff were even kind enough to use their AMA to help me get my locked keys out of my car. Friendly, welcoming staff, amazing food, hilariously clever food item naming, and a clean relaxing environment. If I lived in Edmonton, I’d definitely be a regular. Thanks RCRH! More...
Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere

Great little discovery of yester-years once known as the Bronx after-hours in the 90’s. Had some premium cocktails; wing special at five-bucks (aheeem good deal) and worth it. Great staff; good entertainment as it was amateur night jammin. Perfect Downtown venue for YEGS downtown revival!! More...
Really great small space. Good local food options with very clever menu names. The rage against the poutine is delicious. Good happy hour specials. I really like that they don't serve plastic straws in the cocktails More...
Great food, great prices and friendly staff.
Perfect for getting some food/drinks before a show; great service and delicious food with good prices. The inside isn't anything remarkable but nice enough. Unfortunately they were out of some things (wings/mint) because of the two shows on the previous nights, and I found the music to be a little loud. Overall a great experience and I will definitely come back More...
Great in-house made food and drinks, very unique! Good price and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again
Great place to grab some good food and drink before/after a show. The Ancho BBQ Sauce is unreal!
Great food and music.
