Because it is the only one stop shop in the local market. I can get my pump going, while the wife does the treadmill, stair stepping and HIIT workouts, Zumba etc. all while the kid is being cared for and entertained. Win, Win, Win, that's all you do when you get a the family focused on you. Be a member, you won't regret the better version of you, remove the obstacles. More...

Everything is great but the spin bikes. The spin room is like a sauna with stale air and old bikes that are falling apart. On the other hand, the instructors are super awesome. This is the reason we still take the spin classes. They make it fun while you burn tons of calories. Get there early so you can choose one of the few bikes that work.I would suggest not to compare this facility's exercise equipments to the bigger city's Y.... Â just enjoy what they offer & you'll have fun. More...

I have participated in the Live Strong survivor program held at the Habersham branch. Headed up by Dede Roberts and her assistant Betsy. Both of them have been so supportive, encourging and always upbeat! I feel that our group has formed a bond that hopefully we can keep alive. Dede and Betsy have gone over and above their call of duty at all times! The Habersham branch has a warmth that I have not found in other exercise facilities. The Live Strong program is an excellent program! The instructors couldn't be better!!!! More...

I am by no means a "gym person". Â Don't get me wrong, I'm TRYING to be, but it is a hard row to hoe...the gym is hot and sweaty and full of pain, broken dreams and men who are far too good looking for me to be red-faced and panting in front of. ..at least not in this type of setting. ;) The Y is a good gym tho, and is inspiring me to try to get back into that gym mentality. Â They offer wonderful classes: yoga is awesome, women on weights is a rockstar workout and boot camp will make you srsly reconsider your life...last time I went, I promise we did lunges for at least a half mile and by the end, looking fat in a bikini seemed like an acceptable price to pay not to hurt so much. They also have a nice amount of weight machines and cardio equiptment. The one downside I have about this gym is the weight section. Â I am not a weight lifter...but I am trying really hard to start working on strength training and to do so, I need weights. Â There are puny 10lb barbells in some of the classrooms, but none in the weight section, which means that for me to do my exercises I would have to interrupt a class to barge in for weights. Â Which is rude. Â Plus, I apparently make some very strange sounds and facial expressions during weight lifting, and having that area in the middle of the gym makes me reaaaaally uncomfortable. Â I wish it was a more enclosed space. Â But that's just me.Security is pretty tight around this joint. Â They give you a code and scan your handprint in when you sign up for your membership. Â I'm sure it's just a tactic to keep people from sharing their code and thereby costing the Y money, but it makes me feel like I'm working out in a super-secret-spy gym. Â Which, I have to say, kinda adds to the appeal. Â Agent 00Sexy, reporting for workout! More...
