What makes a great website?
A number of things go into creating a great website, for example:
-Design
-User Experience
-Optimisation
-Content (videos, images, etc)
-Quality of product (if an e-commerce website)
-No spammy popup forms or unrelated popups
-Clear typefaces (links to design)
-Clear vision, in terms of navigating around the site (links to User Experience)
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The biggest thing is your vision. What you want the site to do, and what you want to achieve. From there, I can set about designing and implementing a strategy for us to follow for you to achieve the results you want.
Describe your creative process.
We start off with the design process, where I will create a series of mockups, wire-frames and a colour palette/style guide. Once you're happy with the design, we move onto the core development, which will be building the skeleton site. After that, we can work on User Experience (adding animations and effects), and then move onto optimising the site for search engines (SEO).
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
I need the project name, and any assets ideally. Also having links to some other sites that you like the look of would help the design process.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the freedom and the unexpected. Everyday is a new challenge. But the most exciting part is once the website is finished and you start seeing it convert, -the customer getting leads. Also winning awards is a pretty cool feeling! (I have 5 so far!)
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am freelancing at the moment - I work for a fully serviced Digital Agency in Liverpool during the day. We specialise in e-commerce (Shopify).

Web Development
