Great support whenever you need it, in person or via facebook/messenger. I haven't lost loads of weight, 8lbs in 8 weeks, but the inches are coming off. You get given a book which tells you all about healthy eating and a list of foods that can be eaten. I can honestly say I enjoy the gym sessions and the diet suits me. I will be signing up for another 12 weeks at the end of this block More...

I joined Richard and the team at the beginning of February! I hadn’t been very well previously and had put on a lot of weight and was feeling pretty unhealthy... 6 weeks in I’ve lost 17lb and feel so so much better, not just with the weight loss, although that is definitely a bonus, but I have more energy, I’m sleeping so much better and just all round feel fab! I’m not a gym person having spent lots of money on membership and not gone but the program Richards gym has means you go swiftly round the circuits without overdoing any muscles at once. don’t we normally do a long time on lifts, cardio etc when on our own in gyms doing our own thing and often come out aching the next day? I used to anyway. But with Richard we get constant encouragement and praise for our efforts and corrections in what we do to ensure we don’t cause injury. I’m closer to 70 than 60 and I love the banter that our group has regardless of age. The sauna that is included just needs a movie of a beach playing and you can pretend your sunbathing in some exotic destination. What more could you want after a good workout. I’m getting stronger and looser in my arms and legs and that’s make me feel like a 40 year old again!!! More...

My Journey- well it began back in June after I injured my ankle then losing my mum in July i was on a downward spiral. Normally quite fit i was losing the will to live. Then I came across Richard Clarke and decided it was my only hope of getting some control back. well i can say that it worked. 18lb lighter and back to a good fitness level. Richard and the team focus really hard on individuals and you receive top tips not only for diet but exercise too. It was a pleasure being part of the vitality programme, met some lovely ladies all there for the same reason. I changed to the diet plan a couple of years ago, and seen a big difference in my health and lost weight as well. The diet plan is now part and parcel of mine and my partner's daily life. I joined up for the 12 week fitness and nutrition programme in September. I have found the fitness and strengthening sessions have a massive benefit to my health. My body shape has changed, I have lost more weight, my moods are more upbeat, I haven't got the achy and heavy feeling in my legs anymore. I now realise that the exercise is my medicine , there is no option. I also now enjoy the exercise which is the first time in my life. I find that all the ladies at the club are inspiring and very welcoming and fun to be around. I can honestly say that it has helped through a period in my life that I was finding tough. HI I finished my 12wk course back in May and lost 24lb.I left a review back then. I was so pleased with my results. I then decided to carry on with the programme , now 6 months on I have lost 56lb in total. A life changing experience. UPDATED 20th December(see bottom of original post) This will be my 5th week of Richard Clarke’s 12 week Vitality programme and I’m so very glad I (eventually) decided to bite the bullet and invest in my health by joining. Richard and the team are fantastic and extremely helpful. The workouts are always fun, varied and cater to everyone’s specific needs and abilities and all the members and so friendly. I feel so much better already. I have more energy and I’m actually enjoying my food instead of eating for the sake of eating. My cravings are practically non existent and as an extra bonus, I’ve lost 11lbs so far! I would highly recommend Richard Clarke’s Studios to anyone over 40. I can’t thank them enough for getting me back on track. UPDATE At the 12 week mark of the Vitality Programme, I’d lost exactly 2 stone, which I really didn’t think possible when I first started. Not only that, but my health has improved dramatically. I no longer need to use my ventolin inhaler for my asthma, my carpel tunnel rarely wakes me in the night and my painful ankle is now pain free! This gym is fantastic. I found exercising quite difficult - I was put off going to other gyms because the establishment seemed intimidating and I felt awkward but with the over 40's gym - the establishment is very inviting - people who go there are very friendly - Richard and his team - the encouragement is out of this world. Richard and his team are highly professional and very friendly. I go to the first session of the morning on a Monday, Wednesday & Friday in the Purple Badger in Llanrhidian which means a 5:45 a.m. start to warm up. Julie our trainer is so bubbly (and totally bonkers!) that she motivates you and makes the 30 minute sessions fun and enjoyable. It really sets you up for the day! I.m nearly at the end of my 3 months starter package . Exercise and support has been great thanks to Richard and Elle. . They are supportive on a 1 to 1 basis; but the hole class is supportive which helps you on your journey. I.m 24 lb lighter . I am so happy with what I.v achieved with these guys. . . I knew I could do it, but I knew I couldn't do it alone. I searched the Internet for months with a glass of wine for company and with no results until I found Richard Clarke, which was everything I was looking for, yet it still took me weeks before I signed up. I thought it sounded to good to be true.
HOW WRONG WAS I.
It is the best thing I have done for myself in decades. I feel and look so much better, I have learnt so much about diet and nutrition that completely went against everything I thought I knew.

I have played rugby for many years but never been comfortable in a normal gym setting, feeling slightly intimidated and always thinking are others watching me, am I doing things right and not really knowing what I should be doing to get the best benefit. Following hip resurfacing surgery I started to attend Richards classes as rehab thinking that at my age as long as I got the strength back to be able to walk properly I would be happy.

Richards approach to gym sessions was something totally different to anything I had experienced before. I will admit that I was slightly nervous before attending as I thought to myself I’ve been playing rugby for all those years but with the injury and not training or playing for several months would I not be able to keep up with the others. As soon as I walked in all my worries were taken away, there were no preconceived ideas from Richard and his staff of what I should be capable of..I worked at my pace and my capability and he helped design a rehab program that would enable me to get back on my feet slowly. Several months later I am still attending his classes and taking his advice on food and nutrition. I am now fitter and stronger than I have ever been before and at my age able to play a full game without any issues.

Richard and all his staff are all really friendly and approachable. The atmosphere in the gym is unlike anything I have experienced. Everyone has a smile on their face during the sessions and you quickly make lots of new friends.

My 12 weeks
To tell you about my 12 weeks I need to tell you a little about the before….I live with very complex life limiting disease, Psoriatic arthritis, a very rare form of asthma severe refractory eunosphyllic asthma (doesn’t respond to usual treatment or any treatment), anaphylaxis, excema, urticarial,and T4&T8 spinal compressions fracture ,steroid induced diabetes…
So how does it affect me I have 39%lung function and absolutely anything makes me breathless-just degrees of, I live with a small basal collapse on my left side lung which becomes easily infected. I live with constant pain in my joints and my back, I have swollen red and deformed joints and I get very tired very easily. I work part time and my job is in the NHS managing a service that educates people living with long term health conditions how to live their lives to the full with disease.
Some of the treatments for my complex disease /life are as bad or almost as bad as the disease itself
My life is complicated in the sense that I also care for my daughter who has been under palliative care since her 11th birthday . So we spent a lot f time in and out of Ty Hafan children’s hospice –she is 23 this year but lives with very complex degenerative disease in a nursing home in Cardiff. So for many years I was great at telling everyone what they needed to do but in reality I found it incredibly challenging prioritising me at all …
Like a lot of people I put myself and my poor body with its complications under huge pressure and unrealistic expectations. My stress levels were high all the time at home in work etc
My main source of disease modification was a form of chemotherapy , 13 weeks on 3 off until 18months ago and my body began to react very badly and it became clear we had reached the end of the road with this drug…
What we did not anticipate is the horrendous reaction my body would have to taking the drug away it was like an explosion and without boring you I was so ill a year ago I honestly thought my days were few….I exaggerate not and when I look back at that year it was unthinkable to be honest with persistent pneumonia /horrendous pain and swelling and deformity in my joints a gastric bleed , life was not great ….
Throughout my life I had survived extreme episodes of ill health , life support , anaphylaxis etc and throughout I had been almost all of the time a positive role model , eating healthily /trying to do what I could to maximise my health until last December when I can honestly say I lost my mojo totally lost my mojo..
I knew I needed to do something , find someone who could help me ,disability yoga , I started receiving treatment through Swansea Centre for people with a Life limiting condition but it wasn’t enough …. I wanted to get my mojo back, wanted to feel I was in control again fel I was doing everything I could to control this horrible disease….
So I found someone I thought fitted that bill it was Richard Clarke Health and fitness , what attracted me to contact Richard was his drive health always comes before anything , his motivational emails, his knowledge… So I did it I applied and was totally honest about me and my health baggage..
Ellie rang to arrange an appointment to meet and discuss it with Richard, I felt like I was going for an interview but that just made me feel it was the right thing /the right people ….He took on board everything I told him and he asked me what I wanted to get from going –I told him hope –hope I could make a change or an improvement , he told me I was the riskiest thing he had ever done and I promised him I wouldn’t let him down…From that day on it was 100% a partnership… Richard knew my greatest strength was also my biggest enemy –my stubborn determination and managed it. We agreed I would work on the food follow his plan–less junk and more water, I had plenty of light therapy saunas and met Richard 1-1 for the first few weeks to look at how much I could or couldn’t do.
It really didn’t take very long before I started to feel different about myself , my disease and my life again. Why?- well I needed someone to motivate me safely within my limitations but maximise my potential –yes I know I should have been able to motivate myself but I had lost my mojo and just could not get back on the right track….well because the nature and type of activities can be tailored to meet my needs , my level and even when I have had an infection or been too unwell to do very much I have been encouraged to have light therapy sauna , maintain healthy eating and my water….
I have met some pretty incredible people all with their own story and they support and inspire me to keep going ….
Weight loss wasn’t my primary goal health and wellbeing was and in the past because of my medication I have struggled to lose weight but not with here I have dropped over 2 dress sizes and over 18lb and still going. Ironically this has helped my health, my ability to move /less breathless.
But most of all I well and truly got my mojo back, my love of life, me- I got me back ….I like me again
I am fully aware of my health challenges but I feel so much more in control I feel like I am doing the best I can to maximise my abilities and to enjoy my life ….
Most of all its not about being the best its about trying your best , I am not the best but I get the right support to try my best.

Review of Richard Clarke’s 90 day Fitness Programme

I joined the 90 day programme which followed Richard’s “New Rules of Weight Loss” and was of interest to me because of my health problems and being overweight.

I started off going to meet Richard as I wanted to lose weight as I had put a lot of weight on over the last 8 years , through ill health.

I have tried every weight loss group in the world, but this was more to do with improving health than the weight. I have been to Weight Watchers, Rosemary Connely, Slimming World, and more recently in desperation, and as a last resort, tried the Cambridge Diet. None of these diets were really anything you would want to stay on or made any sense really.

I also went to see Lisa Blair in Harley Street, London, of Food Doctor Fame. She suggested amongst other things, a fibre based action plan / lots of water and the lipid X , but we tried so many supplements, sugar free, yeast free… and nothing really worked.

I then saw a Dietician in London as part of my programme from the Bowel Specialist. The dietician recommended the Fodmap diet, which was so complicated to follow and didn’t make any difference.

Richard’s programme interested me because it was all in one place: Massage, Sauna, Exercise in a Small Lady’s Gym, and the advice on diet and supplements were all included.

Following Richards advice I've lost 10lbs, which is great as I’ve found it so difficult to lose any weight in the past.

The diet makes sense to me as it is gluten free but with natural foods which are supposed to go through your digestive system more quickly, and not to swap bread or cakes etc for gluten free, but to eat naturally gluten free foods. I have to make a few tweaks to it eg. no cows milk, but hope it is something I can follow for life now.

Richard didn’t think I was well enough to do the exercise in the Gym, so I have had the massages and the Saunas, the supplements and the diet plan.

I love all the Recipe books, the Clean Curry book is my favourite and also the fact that we can have treats. It is actually a fairly simple diet, although it does take a while to get into it properly.

Overall I can highly recommend Richard and his weight loss formula. It is a scientific formula which definitely works for losing weight, and it helps you to get more healthy as well in the process, so it is definitely worth giving it a go!

Two weeks in to the Vitality package can’t praise it enough. Being a fertility goddess sized lady with an exercise phobia I am amazed that I am actually ENJOYING getting up at an ungodly hour to exercise.
Julie and Richard are so encouraging it really keeps you upbeat and motivated.
Food side is simple and fuss free making it easy to follow. No guilt, no points, no syns. Healthy happy food.

I suffered a back injury back in January which resulted in nerve compression. For months i struggled to walk and had a lot of back pain and stiffness. Tablets from the doctor did next to nothing and then I heard that a sports massage could help so i looked online for someone who was experienced in this treatment, which is where i came across Richards website.At my appointment Richard spent 15 minutes talking about my condition and getting all the relevant details before starting the treatment. He is very focused on getting you the best treatment and puts you first before talking about money....i think there are a lot of people out there who treat people only because it makes them money...Richard is definitely not one of those people and he puts your interests firstAfter receiving the sports massage my back felt instantly a lot better and then Richard gave advice on using a foam roller on my legs and back. I also visited his colleague Chris Miller who provided me with a stretching program. Within a month of foam rolling and stretching my back was pain free! The advice given by them both was second to none!I now continue to use the foam roller every other day and do my stretches daily. I can now say that i am back in the gym, have managed to climb Pen y Fan and have taken up hiking. These are things i would never have been able to do before the treatment and advice given by both Richard and Chris, i cant thank them enough!If anyone needs any advice/treatment relating to sports injuries then i would look no further than picking up the phone and booking an appointment with these guys.....they know what they are talking aboutOnwards and upwards!Dean Margetson More...

I signed up with Richard for a 12 week programme. I'd had baby number 2 and a c-section and didn't know where to start with getting back into shape as I'd been huge when pregnant and I ended up having a little boy of 9lb 3 so you can imagine I was pretty big at the end. After I had him I was over 70 kilos and I really didn't know what to do about my stomach as it was looking quite bloated and the muscles felt like they were really separated. Well some of those kilos went quite quickly but I was stuck at 65 kilos and really I want to be 54/55 kilos. I didn't want to end up doing crunches and then just ending up with a strong pot belly. I thought it was the best thing to get some advice because you don't get any advice at all from the NHS after the C-Section other than 'just don't exercise for 6 weeks etc'.I'd done a search on google for trainers in Swansea and to be honest a lot of people came up and some of their credentials seemed a bit dubious. Even when I'm looking for work I see ads like 'become a fitness trainer in 6 weeks' and I think with the whole fat loss/fitness thing there's a lot of people just jumping on it. Well obviously I wasn't after that and I liked the fact that Rich wasn't trying to promote himself like a local celebrity or anything and really he seemed very respected with the sports community. Well gut instinct payed off because I can 100% say that Rich is the real deal. He really knows his stuff. He's on the ball with all the new developments in fat loss/exercise/sports science and his fitness programmes are made for you rather than being a one size fits all solution. So you are never going to injure yourself or do stuff that you can't keep up with. He's really supportive and motivates you brilliantly and I just feel I learned so much. Before I had my babies I liked running and I'd been pretty healthy eating but I can honestly say that I'd never figured out how you can get nutrition and exercise to work perfectly together. Now I think I'll not put on loads of weight again (unless I have baby number 3!) because I know exactly how to keep the weight off. Rich will change the way you think as well as help you to get strong and fit and you will end up following a lifestyle for yourself that will make you positive and happy.If you have a busy schedule, kids etc then Rich will also show you quick but powerful exercises that you can do in 10 or 20 minutes a day so you can be sure you can keep up with it. Just brilliant if you are busy and can't spend hours at the gym and just as effective too. At the end of my 12 weeks I was weighing 58 kilos. And now a further 6 weeks later I'm down to 56 and into my pre-pregnancy stuff and feeling great. I purchased a six week personal training package last October and was so pleased with the results that I bought a further 12 weeks immediately after. It was such good fun too, that I didnt take a break at Christmas and even included a family fun session for 6 of us on Boxing Day in the local park. I used the above service for a sports massage on my easier weeks while training for my marathon last year and got to say it freshened my training up and also used richard for excellent nutritonal advice which while training for my marathon was very important.
