I've been a wanting to try this place out for ages since I always see the reviews on here, so I'm glad to have finally gotten the chance. I had an ubereats coupon, so I ordered a butter paneer pizza and a Thai paneer pizza. Now I love butter paneer, but it's definitely not something I would've ever expected to be on a pizza, so I was intrigued but wary. Luckily it turned out great! I don't know why it works. It just does. 10/10 would eat again.On the otherhand, I was not really a fan of the Thai pizza. Maybe someone else might like it, but the flavors just weren't for me. It didn't really come across as Thai to me either. It was just kind of sour and not very pleasant to me. Still not a total dealbreaker. How this place can get any less than 5 stars is beyond me. Maybe the ambiance is where they are lacking, BUT if the food is good the ambiance isn't necessary. And, let me tell you, the food is GREAT. I get my dog groomed at the place next door and last time I brought him I was intrigued by the yummy smells coming from this place but didn't have time to check it out. I made a mental note to try it the next time I was close by so.....I tried my first biryani and chaat and can not wait to try more new things from here. They're known for their pies so that will be next. The complexity and layers of spices and flavors in the chicken biryani was amazing. The "single" serving size is enough for two people and I almost couldn't stop eating it. The woman who helped me was also very kind and helpful. Ever since I heard about Indian style pizza, I've wanted it. Indian movies don't showcase food like Korean movies do so it was a different discovery for me. I grew up with Hindi movies but it was Telugu movies that show more food than Hindi. The Telugu movie, Happy, has my fave Allu Arjun working in a pizza joint. One of my Telugu friends tell me that her fave pizza was paneer 65. I was like what I always wanted to try since then.However, there was no Indian joint in Atlanta that offered Indian style pizza. Finally, I came across Yelp and found Rice n Pie. With a name like that, would you think it's a pizza place? What I've read on Yelp, it has really good biryani.Unfortunately, after a year, I said I will order the Indian style pizza! Through Yelp, I ordered online the small half chicken 65 and paneer 65 pizza with jalapenos.The place is hard to find. You cannot see it off the road. Google Maps hopefully will help steer you right and once you turn into the plaza, depending on which way you come from. There are a lot of office buildings behind the retail plaza too.When I went to pick it up, they were ready for me! They opened the pizza so I could see how delicious it is. It was a long day. I decided to stop by to get some snacks for the boys. Ordered take out of chicken 65 pizza and chili ginger chicken bites. They were quick, and courteous. I also ordered a cup of cardamom tea. I went outside to sit in the car and wait. They actually bought the food out to me. I spilled the tea, and they were courteous enough to replace it. VISIT HISTORY: - Last visit: today (3/30) for casual lunch with an old friend - Frequency: first time per recommendation of a friend- Visit again? yes! FOO(D)RINK:- Edge pizza with Chicken/paneer 65 and butter chicken/paneer: Typically you choose chicken or panner but the guy was really accommodating and gave us food as it was slow time (there were 2 people at the time)! Really appreciative. thank you! Edge allows you to do two toppings and we wanted to try both. The chicken 65 wasn't as spicy as I thought - just a bit but maybe it was overwhelmed by the cheesy and the thick breading. Butter chicken - not as buttery. Sooo good! It really is a blend of Indian, Italian and Asian. There are all of your favorite Indian dishes on a pizza crust plus biryani bowls and pulav for those who don't do much heat. Best biryani-hands down! Look no further than Rice and Pie. Many places use the word "biryani," but what they give you is pulao or mixed rice. Don't be fooled. Just mixing chicken in with spiced rice NOT biryani. The artistry and complexity of true biryani is quite different and hard to find in a generic Indian restaurant or buffet. The husband is from Mumbai and it is his fav dish. Biryani is the special food of weddings and holidays, so it is intended to be beautiful, fragrant, and unforgettable when cooked authentically. I love that biryani is the focus here and it is truly exceptional. You can taste the love and care. All orders are made to order (which is a great thing), so give it about 20 mins. Love at first visit.This is a gem! It's been around for nearly 2 years and I had no clue it existed. Will absolutely be giving this word of mouth press as best we can! !Food was fantastic. Milkshakes were in the "best we've ever had" category (all the shakes we tried were good, but the Chikoo and Mango shakes we had were amazing). We have had rice and pie to go many times. Its genius! Our favorite curry dishes on some naan and call it pizza! And it is so delicious! The restaurant is nearly impossible to locate from the street. There is literally no way you can tell where it is, unless you knew where it was already. Okay, so the location is terrible, but you know what isnt? Indian pizza! I cant say enough great things about the pizza. Its so cheesy, spicy, and packed with flavor. Its also cut into squares - i dont know what it is but it makes it more delicious when its cut in fat squares lol. They do have vegtarian options as some of the pizzas did not have meat option. We are carnivorous beasts so we always had chicken. Chicken 65 - this pizza is red due to the red chicken that comes on top. It has a good bit of heat and spices to it, and of course loaded with cheese. Ginger chili with chicken - one of our favorites. Ginger flavour with a rich taste of the spices and the kick from the chili plus chicken.. a combo to die for! The ginger flavor is not overpowering at all and rather makes you savour each bite. It also has a bit of a vinegary/ sour taste to it, but its so good!Butter chicken - my personal favorite! I love butter chicken so much I make it at home. The butter chicken on this pizza was amazing. It wasnt bland, but full of flavor and spices, just the way I like it! This one also had a bit of a kick to it but unlike the ginger chili it doesnt have a sour taste, just more of a buttery, creamy, and spicy curry taste. So delish.Chicken tikka - the holy grail of indian curries. I had to try this one. It wasnt bad, but the 3 other ones we tried kind of makes this one look bad. This one was the least flavorful and least spicy and hot, but a safe option for those who dont want overwheling flavors. The lady helping us was a total angel too. We've been wanting to try this place after seeing it pop up on yelp, but I'm always a little skeptical about fusion foods. Definitely glad we gave it a shot! We got the boneless chicken biryani and a small chicken 65 pizza. This was more than enough food for the two of us. The chicken biryani was very tender, but there was nothing special about it. However, the pizza was great! I thought it would be an odd mix, but was surprisingly good. Also, the pizza was cooked perfectly - thick, pan pizza, but the dough was cooked all the way and it was not greasy! Cheap delicious Indian food at a great price! We ordered the 65 pizza, it was very delicious, perfect amount of spice, the crust had excellent crisp, pan pizza style was terrific. Also ordered the Chicken biryani, also very delicious, cooked perfectly and served with some sauces. I liked my pizza better, but will probably try other menu items in the future. If I had more stars to give, I would do so very happily. Super-duper delicious and unique! We tried this place a couple of days back and we were blown away. We had the Butter-chicken pizza and it was to die for. It reminded me of Chicken-tikka Pizza I use to have in India. But that was not the best part. We had the Chicken Biryani and it was perhaps the best Biryani we have ever had. The mark of a great Biryani, as a wise Indian once said, is that the rice, by itself, without the meat and the masala, should be flavorful. The Biryani at Rice'n'Pie was exactly that. Every grain of rice was so flavorful, and then there was the meat. All the Biryani's that we have had in New Jersey (another place with massive Indian community) have fibrous almost dry meat. The Biryani at Rice'n'Pie had the juiciest chicken pieces ever! And to sum it, the Biryani didn't feel heavy at all, even after we ate more than half of the pizza. I washed it down with a strawberry lassi, which was so fresh and tasty. The best part about this restaurant is that everything is freshly made. There was no concentrate or artificial flavoring used in the lassi and they used fresh strawberries. If you are in Atlanta, don't Google for "best Indian restaurants" and then go according to the list. Trust me, I have done that and was utterly disappointed with almost all of them. Ordered Butter chicken pizza for takeout on a w whim. I was very pleasantly surprised! The dough was soft on the inside and crisp on the outside, cheese was perfectly melty. The chicken was delicious and buttery too. I just wish it had a little bit more sauce! I didnt notixe since I ordered on it as takeout on the Yelp app, but they have lassi as well! I'll have to try it next time.The lady at the counter was also very warm and friendly, she definitely made me feel that there was care and attention put into the food I was about to eat. The lady at the front was so nice and helpful so that was a bonus.The place looks pretty new and a bit empty when I was there but the hostess mentioned it was an odd quiet day. My first thought was that it was strictly Indian food but they do it with a twist. They do Indian cuisine inspired pizzas.
