Review of RHS Garden Rosemoor by Tony Wilkins

A truly beautiful RHS garden extending over a large area with every sort of tree, shrub and plant imaginable and a profusion of wild flowers. A lake is also included as is a wooded area, in short something to suit all tastes. Also on site are two cafes, plant sales and a large shop. A whole day can quite easily be spent viewing all it has to offer. Admission costs are very reasonable when compared to similar attractions, and it is certainly worth the outlay. Highly recommended. The staff are to be congratulated on the high standards shown.

Well laid out gardens, all plants clearly labelled. Plenty of colour and form, even in late Winter. The woodland walk was an interesting contrast to the formal gardens. I particularly enjoyed Lady Anne's garden. Tea room / restaurant was very popular. Recommended.

A great day out - easy to find & plenty of parking.
Lots to do & see.
The kids play areas are GREAT!
The flowers? well it is RHS so the standard is high, and when I visited in Spring 2018, they did not disappoint.

Very good afternoon out. Pleasant cream tea at the Wisteria cafe. Ended up by buying plants spurred on by what we had seen in the gardens. Also joined the RHS due to enthusiastic reception staff. Will now visit Hyde Hall.

Lovely visit as always. Always something to see. Food in the restaurant was great. First meal of the year outside. Our children are grown up and have fledged, but great to see so many having having fun in a safe environment. Recommend a visit to anyone

The RHS Garden Rosemoor is a very nice place to visit. One could say the entrance fee of 11 GBP (single adult) is quite something but on the other hand a visitor gets something great to lay her/his eyes on and one helps to run the place for future generations.
The transport connection is very good, there is plenty of room for parking and the facilities are very good too.

Lovely garden grounds and centre. Worth visiting for a day. Easter bunny hunt is organised every year for children.
Vegetables section is my fav section though 😉
Great restaurant.
Lovely playing area for children. There is an educational centre if you like to learn more about vegetation and habitats.

This is such a lovely garden with lots of interesting plants and trees. It also had lots of sculptures dotted around everywhere which we actually really enjoyed looking at! Christmas time is also a good time of year to go as they have it all lit up nicely 👌🏼

Beautiful all year round. Staff are very welcoming, plenty of parking, even for motor homes and lovely food in the restaurant.
Well worth becoming an RHS member as you will want to go back. Much less commercial than RHS Wisley.

We went here in the summer with boys 2 and 4 years old and we all had a great day. There was a Enid blyton event on and actors re creating a famous five mystery round the gardens. At the end, when you had solved the case the boys were given a free book.

As always the gardens change every time you visit. Wonderful displays of hellibores. It rained heavily in the afternoon but who cares? This is Devon, nearly as wet as Cornwall!

Beautiful gardens and delicious cakes in the cafe. Can easily spend a good morning or afternoon there.

I can't comment on the price as we got in as an RHS guest.

Side note, the gift shop has a fair range of emma bridgewa products if you're into that

A visit to this wonderful RHS Garden was in mid January with watery sunshine and 8°C. Snowdrops abounded and although many plants were dormant still, the few flowering trees and bushes were interspersed with a riot of different coloured barks which would brighten even a dull day. There is a very reasonable restaurant with a choice of hot and cold fare and the toilets were immaculate. Obviously, there is a well stocked shop between the expansive gardens and the exit door, but it's wil with a good browse. There are different tutorial programs and displays throughout the year and it is best to check the calendar before finalising your visit date. Parking is good with many disabled slots and the whole place is wheelchair friendly with gradual slopes circumventing any stepped areas. There are day tickets (with free access for any disabled person's 1 carer) and annual membership offers very favourable terms. Highly recommended! 👍

We have just returned after a 5 day stay in Camellia apartment. How beautiful was that. A very very comfortable stay. Sumptuous bedding of high quality. Kitchenalia was all and more than you needed. Welcome gifts were bread, milk, tea, coffee, bowl of fruit and Rosemoor apple juice. Within the store cupboards were salt pepper cling film and foil. All cleaning and dish washing tabs also Ecover products. The lounge was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was amazing. Stand alone roll top bath. A double shower with wall jets and a huge shower overhead. We would like a return visit sometime.

The Glow experience was absolutely beautiful, well worth the cost. However, The Nutcracker, which a lot of people assumed was going to be a ballet, was total rubbish, amateur and almost farcical. That was not worth the cost, and I am not alone in saying this, I spoke to others in the tearoom afterwards. Disappointing.

It's a great place to spend the day with kids. The grounds are beautiful, I ended up taking photographs of fifteen different plants to buy someday. My daughter was given a list of things to find, that made her day. The restaurant was also surprisingly good.

It was my first visit to this rhs garden. I was very surprised at the large area covered by the garden and I didn't manage to see the whole of it. The Wisteria Tea Rooms in the grounds is well worth a visit for a delicious cream tea. There is also a large airy modern restaurant near the entrance to the garden and a large car park.

Always worth a visit and changes every week. Good to see the fruit and vegetables in late September. The annual subscription is great value if you visit regularly. We live near Hyde Hall and have grandchildren close to Rosemoor and close to Wisley. The children are always keen to visit: "Can we go to Wisley?" is their common cry.

If you like gardening or gardens what's not to like about this place? Run by knowledgeable professionals to help visitors understand gardening and horticulture better; ideas for garden planning and planting abound. As a pure visitor attraction it may not appeal to all - but it has all the facilities you'd expect.

I don't think I will ever tire of this beautiful place - a forever changing kaleidoscope. You almost feel the need to talk in hushed tones so as not to disturb the flora that are beginning to snuggle down for their winters rest....but then you want to shout WOW as peering out from their summer duvet is the most magnificent swathe of brightly coloured berries, stems and fruits you can possibly imagine.
So looking forward to my next visit.

The gardens are exceptional, with great thought behind the displays. The result is a very concentrated experience that has given me fresh ideas for my gardening.

The tearoom could do better. The prices do not reflect the service provided, with the water running out and the cake of the day being a health hazard if you dropped a slice on your foot and were not wearing a steel toecapped boot. Lunch was good cafeteria fare, but at restaurant prices.

After our 5 day stay in "Magnolia" apartment in June 2011, I anticipated that a week in September would be somewhat disappointing. No way - The "Camellia" suite was oh so lovely, upstairs rather than ground level & so well presented & prepared. The gardens were in their autumn colours - a stunning display of acres of well matched flowering shrubs in dazzling proportions. As serious gardeners we shook our heads in amazement. Our Sunday lunch in the restaurant was a show stopper. This must be the jewel in the crown of the R.H.S. as it surely surpasses the other three official sites. What a wonderful place for a totally relaxing holiday, & then just consider all the other opportunities for sight seeing in Devon.
