Our experience with Rewarding dogs was first class. We all enjoyed working with Mike including our Deerhound cross Nellie. Nellie’s prey drive was so strong we didn’t think we would be able to keep her as she did get into a bit of bother. After trying two other trainers Mike was able to make the dog happily cooperative and calm. He has a wealth of knowledge that he imparts and what a fantastic transformation after just a few days. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delighted with the progress Troy has made since I enlisted the help of Mike and Joolz. He was quite a handful as a pup- boisterous and headstrong. Training was going nowhere. I was getting desperate! The support I've had from Mike has been invaluable, from his initial visit, written feedback, DVD to the continuing advice given on the phone or by email. I can now go for walks confident that Troy will not run away or rush up to other dogs. He has developed good recall and his listening/focussing is improving. We can't praise Mike enough. Our rescued German Shepherd was uncontrollable; the usual training methods had no effect on him. We worked with several dog trainers before we met Mike and nearly gave the dog up as a lost cause. Meeting Mike changed our lives (and the dog's). Mike's assessment of our German Shepherd shed light on what caused the problems we had with him. One of the revelations for us was that the dog wasn't aggressive by nature, but highly reactive and deeply insecure. We also were 'trained' by Mike to change our own attitude and behaviour; this is something not to underestimate as a dog owner. I have used the services of Mike on a number of occasions over the last few years, the spaniel who stole food by jumping on the kitchen work tops, the one who used to vanish on walks for up to 3hrs and most recently on a spaniel who had become phobic after being stung wasps, each of these dogs had differing problems and different temperaments, the advice and training techniques given to me by Mike were tailored specifically for each dog, depending on various factors involved. The were gentle and based on how the dog can understand what is being asked. The are not bandaids that covered over a problem but training and handling advice that dealt with the problem in the long-term, these methods significantly changed these situations for both me and my dogs, and my overall relationship with them. I have to thank Mike not only on behalf of myself and Harry my Husky X but the wider local community, whom with his intervention and help, has shown me through training, how to keep Harry from running off. I can highly recommend Mike @rewarding dogs. He has helped me with my rescue dog Rexi who was socially anxious ,dog aggressive and very reactive to pretty much everything! Mike has a calm and assertive manor and approaches training methods in a very positive way. I had also attended Mike's training classes which resulted in my dog gaining his good citizen Bronze award which is proudly on display! Mike has went above and beyond at 1to1 sessions to help with our family dog who didn't have the best start in life, he was an outside kennel dog before who had little to almost no socialisation and I was struggling terribly with how to overcome his fears and trust issues. Mike was extremely knowledgable and very patient, he went over things repeatedly until I knew exactly what I was doing when I was on my own with Mylo. He done follow up calls to see how I was getting on and a few new unusual behaviours arised along the way, that Mike was more than happy to give me guidance about on the phone and if I need him here again he will be more than happy to come out. I would 110% recommend Mike, his approach with my dog has been incredible and I have noticed great differences recently, still a work in progress but Mylo has definitely come a long way in the short space of time so far. I would highly recommend rewarding dogs, especially for those dogs that are over reactive and extremely difficult to train. My dog (Storm) was extremely aggressive towards other dogs as well as over reactive to most situations and Mike has taught myself and my partner how to keep her under control and relaxed. He was very good at reading my anxieties which he knew the dog was picking up on and giving honest feedback which has been a great help with progression of our training. We can’t thank mike enough! We had a real positive experience with Rewarding dogs. Although our pup is still a working progress we are feeling more confident on how to deal with some of the tricky behaviours we'd been experiencing. Joolz was really informative, and explained things clearly in a way that made sense. I also liked the way Rewarding dogs involved all family members when showing us how to deal with our menace pup! Rewarding dogs were there to help us with one of our dogs but gave us loads of extra helpful advise for our other dog that also lives with us at no extra charge. ! I also like that we have our own training record to refer back to when needed. I felt it was money well spent and enjoyed our day with Rewarding dogs and came away from the experience feeling much happier and far more confident! I would highly recommend! More...

I first contacted Mike when the dogs were in need of proper training in recall as neither would return. Also one of the dogs was not good around most dogs and Mike arranged a visit to discuss things further and see the dogs for himself. Not only did he take them a walk with us, but he actually began training there and then. The dogs soon responded to his calm demeanour.Furthermore, he went that extra mile and took the dog, who wasn't keen on most dogs, home with him for one to one training!He also provides you with a detailed book on how to continue training and you can contact him for further advice if need be - he is always willing to help.It is largely thanks to Mike that both dogs are much better nowadays.
