Nice staff, cute little place. Almond orchata latte was lovely, alfajores was a bit dry and crumbly.
Had champurrado for the first time with a shot of espresso. So good!! Their atole was amazing too. And can we talk about the flan?! Omg, for only $4 it was absolutely delicious!!! Been trying to come back, but they're usually closed before I get out of work. I'm glad I came in during my day off. All I do is dream about going back! Gracias!! More...
Great coffee with a mexican twist. Loved this place and the atmosphere. The lady behind the counter looked just like my late grandma when she was younger do made it a little more special

Great coffee and yummy pastries!
Great coffee. Friendly staff. They have coffee choices that I have not seen elsewhere. Got the almond horchata latte, I give it a great recommendation.
A very sweet and charming spot - I am a huge fan of their Cafe De Olla - their pastries and food are all wonderful as well.
Try the corn bread smoothie with peanut butter, it's not the appropriate name for it but oh my... Get in my belly.
Delightful little coffee shop! Amazing drinks friendly staff
Delicious cold brew coffee!
Loved the cafe olla.
Vegan tamales for the winnn! Staff is wonderful
I'm from Jerez Zacatecas, Mexico. The Cafe de olla, is perfect. Champurrado perfect, I can keep going. Like someone said a time ago, "it reminded me my grandma's cooking" grate food aswomwe coffee.
3 x cappuccino :-)
Delicious coffee. Try rose cardamom mocha!
Alright Let's go
best cafe downtown by a mile.
Fun, quiet, good service, all add up to a pleasant stop for coffee, tea and a pastry. Positioned to taketake advantage of downtown traffic and Portland State. Give them a try.
This place is wonderful. The coffee is fantastic and the pastries, tamales and really ALL food items are amazing. My new Portland fave!
Coffee is not my favorite drink, but this place convinced me to try some coffee based drinks like the horchata latte which was awesome! They also have great non-coffee drinks and specials like their Blue Lavender Matcha tea latte. There is food is delicious. More...
Small coffee shop in downtown Portland. Interesting atmosphere with art of various revolutionary figures such as Che Guevara on the walls. Their chai latte is the best I've ever had. More...
A cute little spot close to the University - I got the Atoles de Nuez latte, on the recommendation of the barista, and she was right! I'm not familiar with this sweet corn mass beverage but it's great! More...
I LOVE THIS CAFE! It is super cozy and reminds me of my childhood. I feel super comfortable here, the baristas are friendly. And the chilled Cafe de Olla is my favorite drink ever. More...

Sean Thomas Newsome
Best cold brew. Awesome food and great atmosphere.
The best place in town, Maria is a badass.
Fun little coffee shop. You will not be disappointed
The Mexican Mocha is fantastic (as long as you like it a bit on the sweet side). The ham panzin (basically ham in slightly sweet bread) was tasty, but still a little frozen in the middle and a little overly moist on the bottom. If you have to wait at the DMV, this is a perfect place to grab a coffee or tea and a snack until you can line up. More...
So tasty! Really cute place
Everything is Delicious! Get there early because by 9:45am there will be a long wait. Very small location and very popular, but work the wait.
Love this place!! Very authentic, locally-owned coffee store that has many unique products not available anywhere else. I recommend the Cafe de Olla (coffee brewed with molasses and cinnamon) as well as the Atoles (Traditional Mexican beverage made from corn or masa). Their desserts and pastries are also VERY good. Only problem is that it's a small space and can get crowded some times. But I can understand why! More...
Loved it! Delicious food and coffee.
Great little shop, gluten free pastries and food, and pupusas!
great lattè , great quiche , great time!
We're staying at the adjacent Modera Hotel. The staff there recommended this place for breakfast. They have all the standard bagel, English muffin, and croissant based breakfast sandwiches, but I recommend trying the Pantzin. It's delicious! I also tried Champurrado for the first time. It is also delicious, and surprisingly hearty! It was quite filling in itself! More...
Love this place. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are warm and helpful, and the coffee, beverages and food selection is well curated and always a delight.
Enjoyed the cafe de olla. Nice little coffee house.
I was so pleased to find this spot! The Cafe de Olla is delicious!! The breakfast burrito was the perfect size for me - fresh tasting & flavorful. I'm looking forward to going back soon to try the tamales. The friendliness of the staff was the cherry on top making sure that I'll be back! More...
I really do love this place. It has been a staple of my time at PSU. I just want to say.....please make sure you verify your order back when they are busy.....went today....got the wrong style of drink and wrong food.
I have full belief the person was just rushed with no backup! Otherwise I've never had a problem and encourage people to go! More...
Wonderful little coffee house in Portland. The Cafe de Olla is a coffee experience different from anything else you’ve ever had! The Raspberry White-Chocolate Mocha is not the absurdly sweet goo you drink at Starbucks ... it has flavor and depth here. More...
Excellent espresso. I bought a pound of the beans. A good scone. Great looking tamales and sandwiches. Wish I'd been hungrier. Terrific location (especially on a sunny day). Fair trade. Free WiFi. I gotta bike downtown again soon. More...

The coffee here is better than anything you will drink anywhere else and the food is amazing. The vibe is always nice and chill with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Que Bueno!
Best little coffee shop in southwest Portland. Not part of a chain featuring beans from Cafe Mam out of Eugene, OR. Also great food and cool vibe.
Love to stop here on my way back from the PSU farmers' market on Sat. morning, for a pantzin or chicken mole tamale and café de olla. Great food and décor, very gracious proprietress- it always makes me happy to stop here. Mi lugar favorito! More...

I've been to a lot of coffee places in the Yucatan, and this coffee house serves it up right, if you want authentic Mexican coffee with a Portland twist. Plus, the service and staff is precious. Bravo! Muy rica cafe!!!! Order the Cafe Olla or Atole. Muchas gracias, Maria! More...

Good coffee, great pastries.
Indigo Righter Alejandro
I love their café de olla here.
Great food, drinks, and staff in a cozy little place.
Great service, coffee and food but unfortunately the tamales fall short because they are not made with traditional ingredients. I would Definitely try their other food options which are tasty and filled with cheese and chorizo! More...
Good coffee. Good barista. The pastries look delicious!
Yummy tamales and horchata.
Czarina Francisco Jimenez
Friendly, fast service. A wide range of sweet and savory foods, and delicious Mexican coffee, cafe de olla, champurrado, and atole.
This is a very interesting and cozy place. The Mexican Vanille latte is so complex in the flavor profile. The food selection looks amazing, the staff was very helpful with recommendations, and service was quick.
Great little coffee shop right in downtown, close to Portland State University campus. The South American take on coffee drinks is a wonderful flare that makes this coffee shop stand out among the hundreds.Hot drinks are flavourful, spicy and crafted with great care and passion. Food is quick to come out and is pretty tasty. Prices of everything are what you would expect of a downtown coffee shop. Nothing really cheap, but you can still get out with a drink and a quick bite for about ten bucks. There are a few tables and some lounge space, but overall the seating here is limited. You need to be comfortable with squeezing in where there is a seat or go during the slower hours. Extra props for the friendliness of the folks who run this place and for the eclectic music choices. This place is a must-visit if you're in the area and up for something beyond your standard Starbucks venti foamy whatever. More...
Loved the coffee, the pizza-like bagel (from Seattle's Best, I think), and the easygoing ambience
This is my favorite coffee place downtown. It doesn't just serve coffee — it also serves Latin drinks and food, like atole de nuez (a porridge-y drink with cornmeal and other yumminess), champorado (chocolate-y drink), tamales, horchata lattes... So much deliciousness on a menu. The inside is comfortable, cozy, and colorful. The staff is always super-friendly. This is my go-to place downtown for a quick bite to eat or a yummy drink when it's cold outside. More...
Only horchata place in town. Muy rico.
Fine espresso and very nice Mexican mocha
Coffee too expensive but tastes fine.
Good coffee, some unique cultural offerings, very nice artsy environment
This coffee shop is after my own heart. All my favorite Hispanic treats and good coffee, Horchata too! It makes my Texan heart sing.
The best Mexican mocha ever with rose and cardamom. They even have vegan sweets and savories. Very nice service and pleasant atmosphere. I'll be a regular.
Definitely will stop here again when I come back to Portland
Giant tamales, café de olla, pupusas, and champurrado. In Portland. Unexpected delight we walked into after a DMV visit. Well-prepared food and quirky, quiet atmosphere. Will definitely go again!
Me Gusta mucho
Rachel Morgan McDermott
Cute, low key coffee house. Bonus: they sell tamales here.
This coffee shop has one of the best cozy feelings that I have ever been in. The cafe allows for you to sit quietly and be in a good atmosphere. There are photos of revolutionaries on the wall that are inspiring to say the least. Staff were friendly and very helpful. More...
Tasty offerings and a cozy, non-corporate indie vibe. Sweet place. You should support it!
Cold brew and empanada were both very good.
Hector H Hernandez
Great food, tamales and delicious cafe de olla
Amazing coffee with great choice of treats... Sweet and savory.
Cafe de olla + champurrado both amazing!
This place was a pleasant surprise to find downtown. It doesn't stay open late beyond the afternoon but the Mexican coffee Olla, tamales, empanadas, and flan are sooooo good. I went here three times during my stay in Portland! Highly recommend. More...

Loved the food but I wish they had a bit more seating area.
Excellent coffee. I recommend the dark blend with the Irish cream. The tamales are not bad! And the pastries are good.
Best atole de nuez and tamales de elote in town.
Fun pace with friendly and helpful staff. Coffee was great!
Eduardo Alexander Villatoro Gonzalez

Delicious Mexican delicatessens, great coffee and service. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
Always at home here.
Best cold brew I've ever had!
Tamales de mole, chile verde and Blueberry?! Why not. Champurrado, Mexican hot chocolate and café, and the usual American stuff. Quaint and clean, seems a favorite of the working folk in the area, we were visiting the city for a week and accidentally found this place when getting of the bus. Simple, quick stop with a few surprising Mexican items reminiscent of grandma's kitchen . Shop keeper (maybe owner) looks like Frida Khalo. Not sure if intentional or coincidental but pleasant nonetheless. More...

They have cafe de olla and atol!!!!! In downtown!! Awesome chocolate croissant too. The music they play is always amazing
Tasty and friendly coffee shop. The food is tasty and the coffee, perfect!
A Must Try!
All food items are delicious
Amazing coffee a little different spin on the usual latte type drink
Delicious coffee and snacks with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
I liked the tamales.
Neat cafe will go back and try more coffee and their guava bar. And if I get daring enough I will try their brownie with chili in it. The one without chili is good.
Super cute little coffee shop! Great ambiance, good music, good pastry snack options, with a really wide range of coffee-based drinks. Only thing is there are a lot of fancy coffee options in the $5-ish range that you can only see by waiting for their tv-screen menu to cycle through. It would have been nice to have some [plain] staples posted for general reference. More...
Extremely good coffee and delicious authentic Mexican treats and lunch. This tiny shop has loads character. The tamales and palmeires are my favorite! Very veg/vegan friendly!
Cozy interior, great coffee, and patient staff.
Great coffee and treats in a fun environment.
Terrific coffee and treats! Great atmosphere. One of the best downtown.
My coffee was amazing the worker was very attentive and interacted with everyone in a pleasant manner! Can’t wait to go back when I have more time to try some food .
After finally deciding what to order (the menu kept loading weird on the screen) I landed on the horchatta latte. It was so good we went back the next day for another!
Very authentic experience.
Myrna Arely Muñozita
Had an uninterrupted conversation with a friend over café de olla and a pupusa- Who could ask for anything more?!
Cute little place with some big ideas, great food, homemade pastries, authentic Mexican coffee drinks.
As a student as PSU, I'm basically here every day.
Awesome small cafe shop in downtown. Great unique selection of tea and coffee and free wifi. Good music. Definitely a good spot to stop in the morning.
There are a TON of coffee shops in Portland, but Revolución might be my favorite. Not only do they have some unique, tasty Mexican pastries (Marionberry empanada!), But also solid espresso drinks and a comfy atmosphere. Came here twice in a four day trip because the pastries were just that good. More...
Friendly staff and quick service. Not your traditional empanada dough (they use more of a croissant dough which is more moist but a lot more flakey) but the spinach & potato is full of flavor. Their horchata is a little too sweet for me even with a shot of espresso, but great staff and a quiet, cozy place to get some work done for an hour. More...
Good food and espresso, nice clean place friendly staff
Love the Mexican mocha and tamales!! I'm looking forward to trying their other drinks and food. I also really appreciate that some of the proceeds on Saturdays go toward social justice causes.
The fruit empanadas are SO good!
Cool place great costumer service. Just little expensive but I keep going
Mexican mochas were delicious! Great little spot to grab a cup of coffee and get some laptop work done.
Friendly staff, cozy seating, great food and coffee
So yummy! It's a small coffee shop, but cozy and the staff are friendly! I told the cashier that I had never been here before, so she recommended the cafe de olla and I also got a spinach and cheese tamal. No regrets! So delicious! The coffee is spicy and sweet. I got it hot, but they sell bottled cold versions as well, which they suggested different ways to mix it to make it the different ways they drink it "at home." The tamal is hot and very moist. I have never had it before, so unfortunately I don't have anything to compare it to, but I will definitely be back to try them all! More...
I don't understand why anyone would go to Starbucks when you could come here. Everything is fantastic.
Try the atole! Fills you up and so creamy and rich!
Great coffee, slower service but very personalized
Carolina C. R.
Really good character, makes a fusion of a Mexican abuelita place with pictures of Mexican revolution, and a trendy hipster twist. I'll definitely go back.
Treat yourself to the Latin American specialties.
Great coffee shop with a unique Mexican flair, homemade food and a really friendly staff. Love it
A hidden gem of a coffee spot and one of my favorites! They have some great options for food and drink. Don't be afraid to try something different (I recommend the Champurado!). The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a small shop, but there's about 20 seats, including some comfy chairs. Their tres leches is quite good too (though you'll want a big appetite or a friend to split a piece with!). Enjoy! More...
I grew up in South Florida. They serve without question the most amazing Flan West of the Everglades.
Excellent coffee, chocolate chai and tamales!
The food and drinks were great. The person behind the counter seemed a little rushed but it was pretty busy when I was there. My least favorite part was the lack of seating. I ended up finding a seat outside but if you're looking to sit down for a while, this might not be a good place for you. More...
The coffee is good here but I highly recommend trying the food. My favorites are the flan or breakfast burritos. Service is always great whether you're staying or getting a coffee to go. I also like the music they play. Good for meeting a friend but not good for groups. More...
I had a horchata latte and a sweet corn tamale, both fantastic. Service was friendly and wonderful.
Smooth tasting mocha, friendly atmosphere.
Really good marionberry empanadas.
Absolutely beautiful coffee shop servings authentic Atolé, champurrado, Mexican sweet bread, and tamales among other amazing options. A gem in the city
Horchata Latte and a tamale the size of your head. 5 Stars.
Great Almond Horchata Latte!
Foodie find! This is a charming neighborhood coffee house with Mexican-inspired flavors. Stopped in the first time b/c it happened to be near our hotel. Got a horchatta latte that was so memorable we came back the next day to grab some breakfast for the road. The champurrado (like a chocolate-cinnamon oatmeal) was delicious and warmed me up inside. The tamales (we had the veggie and a mushroom-chipotle) were homemade. Every. Bite. Was. A. Joy. Flavorful salsa too. They also have chicken mole and other meat options. And the chocolat-chip muffin was also moist and tasty. The other items in the bakery case - including a really awesome looking flan - also looked tempting but I could feel myself gaining weight just by looking at this point. Highly recommend! More...
The staff is so friendly! Cute place with festive vibe. Good pastries.

Great latte here, so much better here than Starbucks, and it was wonderful n a real ceramic cup.
Horchata latte? Yeah, get that.
Muy rico todo gracias, y el personal muy atentó y un lugar lindo para disfrutar un rico café

This is the best cafe in Portland! The homemade horchata is delicious!!
I love this place. It's got a got great food and amazing drinks. Highly recommend it!

Lo mejor de Portland!
It's not Starbucks. Do I have to say anything else?I'm no expert, but a friend told me that Revolucion has the most authentic Mexican coffee drinks (and some food, like rice pudding and tres leches cake) outside of Mexico City. I can highly recommend the atole drink thing. I don't know what it is, but you definitely won't find it at Starbucks. More...

Vegan tamales! Super unique and friendly.
Cozy cafe with good coffee and delicious Mexican pastries made in house.
Good enough to start a Revolución! I'm amazed this little gem hasn't been discovered by the masses. REVOLUCIÓN is the quintessential Portland Coffee house with a Mexican twist. The Coffee is Fair Trade and Excellent. The Pastries are to die for! Bored with espresso? REVOLUCIÓN has a variety of inventive concoctions and tradition Mexican fare. The prices are very reasonable and the service welcoming. They are located next to the Hotel Modera. More...
Great coffee, and the empanadas and tamales are fantastic. They also have a good selection of more interesting drinks for the curious. Great location and decor as well.
We bought a groupon as we were traveling on a budget. And it was just fabulous. It was calm and mellow inside. The music was perfect for enjoying your breakfast. She had great choices and reasonable prices. We went back the next day and loved everything we had even my 3 year old. Top faves were the hot chocolate (it's the bomb). And I was a huge fan of the cafe de olla. More...

Amazing coffee, the Atole de Nuez and the Cafe de Olla were both incredible. The almond tart was also perfect. I'm happy Groupon brought me here and will definitely return.
Staff made me an small champurrado for me to try since I'd never tried it. Became my favorite -- great morning start, filling for a drink. Looking forward to it in the winter. Mango chai was also a nice surprise. The cafe de olla with lavender was a perfected iced summer drink. Great prices, especially for quality. More...
