We were recommended Resting Pets by our vets for the cremation of our Hamster, as you can imagine this was a very upsetting time and from the very beginning we were updated every step of the way. A very special thank you to Claire, who has been so caring, understanding and patient with my questions. Thank you so much for looking after her and for returning her to Blythwood vets. Cannot rate them any more highly or thank them enough for being so lovely. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I am disappointed having to write this review. Unfortunately my west highland terrier was put to sleep at Forest vets in Harlow (who are excellent) they mentioned that Resting pets could collect him and take out the cremation. I was told I would receive a call from them on Monday - no call was received however I called them on Tuesday to finalise details and make payment. We were then called on the Wednesday to say the cremation was complete. Due to work commitments I arranged to collect him on Saturday. On Sataurday my wife and I made our way to collect him, upon collection the service was very impersonally and you are basically just handing a carrier bag with a box in it, this is a real shame as the contents were presented very well. My wife left sharply due to being so upset but I stayed inside and purchased a necklace for her to hold a small amount of Georgies ashes, the younger lady behind the counter who was much better said she couldn’t put the ashes in straight away and deliver the item to our home on Monday or Tuesday morning at the latest. I then made payment and left. On Tuesday at 16:00 I called them to say the necklace hadn’t arrived to be told they basically forgot. I was really unhappy here as my wife had wasted two days in and she was also really looking forward to the necklace for sentimental reasons. I had a moan and was told someone would drop them to us on their way home that night. Upon me arriving home my wife was in tears due to the necklace being extremely dirty and scratched on the back where they had filled the ashes, clearly rushing due to them forgetting. I emailed immediately due to them being closed and got a very cold series of emails from the director Kate the following morning. Refusing to collect the item unless I paid them £50 and also accusing us of damaging the item in the first place. She also was to busy to accept any phone calls for the whole day. I had to take the item back myself for a refund. Warning to any potential customer - Resting pets provide a great initial service although they do sneak in a £28 collection charge if they collect your animal from the vet which is not disclosed until you receive your invoice that’s already been paid. When you collect your pet it’s so impersonal and makes a bad situation even worse and if things go wrong then you get no customer service and if you escalate this to a director the customer service is even worse. My advice would be spend your money elsewhere.

Could not recommend this service enough. The whole process was dealt with professionally and the whole team was very caring. Nothing was to much trouble and they helped a very hard time that little bit easier.

Friendly enough on the phone but they don't listen. Our beloved Chester died suddenly in a traffic accident, only 2 years old, so needed a quick cremation as we were heading back to Germany. We left him there, said our goodbyes and they asked if anything we wanted, we all said his collar and name tag. Collected the ashes the next day and collar and name tag missing. Told they would have been cremated with him in which case surely the collars metal parts would be in with his ashes. They aren't. Assuming they're even Chesters ashes of course, we'll never know. So no name tag, no collar and not sure we even have his ashes now. Very distressing throughout. I'd find someone else these people don't care.

Individual Cremation

Your pet will be cremated solely by itself, ensuring you receive all and only your pet's ashes. This is our promise to you.

Cemetery Burial

Burial in our beautiful Garden of Remembrance here at Wood Far, Ongar

Paw Prints & Jewellery

We can take a clay imprint or an 'inkless' print of your pet's paw ahead of the cremation service. These make lovely keepsakes, and can also be made into jewellery items at a later date. We also have a stunning range of ash jewellery, allowing for a pinch of your pet's ashes to be with you at all times.
