From the day I walked in here I felt very welcomed from Professor Bruno and all of the students. This is the #1 place to train in the capital district. I've trained at different academies where all they care about is there money and could care the least bit if you show up but not at Renzo Gracie Latham. Jiu Jitsu and Martial Arts in general have been a staple in my family for generations and now that my children are old enough, Renzo Gracie Academy was the clear and obvious choice for their first foray into this lifestyle. Dakotah and Professor Bruno, along with Coach Wyatt and the rest of the staff have been supportive and very informative from day one. The kids love every second and the lessons they've learned in the short time they've been training have extended far beyond MMA and Jiu Jitsu. Bruno BJJ, which is an affiliate of the world famous Renzo Gracie BJJ academy offers top flight training, intense training coupled with a friendly, family atmosphere.  It is the premier place to train BJJ and MMA in the Capitol region and beyond.  Bruno Tostes, who received his black belt from Renzo Gracie himself, is an accomplished grappler (winning or medaling at many prestigious BJJ and grappling tournaments) as well as a dedicated teacher who is very easy to learn from and always offers close attention to everyone at class, no matter how big a class may be on a given day.  He is also the BJJ instructor for the world famous UFC veteran, Matt "The Hammer" Hamill, who comes by often to train and has also trained with the likes of UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and other UFC veterans.  Like any great teacher, he makes even the most complex submissions, defenses and techniques easy to learn and fun to try.  Bruno also has elite members of the Gracie family and BJJ/MMA community give seminars at INCREDIBLE price value.  The academy recently moved to a new location on New Loudon road and boasts a large amount of mat space to train on including a spacious dressing room area and weight lifting area and heavy bags in the back so there is always PLENTY of space to roll and train.I had the pleasure and honor of training at Bruno Tostes Brazilian Jiujitsu over the course of two years.  When I had to move to Albany for work, my hometown instructor, Jojo Guarin, of East Coast United Brazilian Jiujitsu, highly recommended training at Bruno's school.  And it was an amazing experience to train with Bruno and his students.  It really diversified my BJJ game on all levels - various guard plays, passes, defenses, escapes, takedowns and submissions.  Bruno BJJ offers an extensive amount of classes ranging from beginner, advanced, and kids BJJ to Judo and MMA classes so there is something for everyone here, whether you are a first timer or professional fighter.Of course, the most important thing I took away from my experience at Bruno's school as the friendships I made.  When I first arrived, I was IMMEDIATELY welcomed with open arms and quickly became great friends with Bruno and the rest of his students all from different backgrounds, many of whom I still keep in close contact with today.  They are all tough competitors and are class acts on and off the mat.  It's always great to bump into them again at various BJJ competitions.  If you are looking to train BJJ or MMA in the Albany area, look no further and stop by Bruno Tostes Brazilian Jiujitsu TODAY!!!
