Describe your creative process.
There are essentially two paths to a successful design solution:
We can work out tight creative and visual concepts at the beginning, then create the visuals and design to suit.
Or...
We can utilize resources the client may have on hand, supplement them as needed with crisper copy or more dynamic imagery, and then combine the elements to see what develops. An ad, a website, even a magazine will practically design itself if you allow the elements themselves to steer the design direction.
We are comfortable working either way. However, we find ourselves down the second path far more often. For better or worse, this business is deadline driven, and there often isn’t the time or budget to make everything the best it can be. But we will make the best out of everything we can.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
To start we need a clear direction, and consistent contact person.
We need to know what your expectations are, and the scope and budget of the project.
Provide us with a list of things (pertaining to the project) that you like and/or don't like. Provide examples of designs or similar projects so that we can get on the same page quickly, and fully understand both what you need, but also your particular tastes – or those of your target market demo. Pinterest pages are a great source to explore adjectives and present examples.
What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love most about my job is the variety.
Design touches on so many aspects of marketing, branding, promotion... life in general...that there are always projects in the works for multiple clients and in a wide variety of mediums.
I also enjoy pleasing people. I love exceeding their expectations and seeing their reaction when I can knock it out of the park, and get them exactly what they wanted, or even better then they imagined.

Absolutely. I regularly work with clients around the country that I have never met in person. 99% of what I do can be accomplished remotely.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
My client interaction is almost exclusively via email, text and phone. In-person meetings are rare and usually unnecessary unless we are shooting photography, so customers are always safe.
