I really enjoyed the sewing workshop this evening, making reusable sanitary pads. The session was friendly, fun, informative, helpful and set in a great venue. The Remakery is very inviting and welcoming. I found it easy to get to on a bus route from work, and then the bus home was my normal bus too; so extra handy! I will definitely be looking out for future events, and I would recommend others do too. More...

How lucky was I to walk past this place for the first time, just moments after buying my flat! Bought some gorgeous bistro chairs and other pieces of furniture. Lovely team, going above and beyond. More...

I went to a computer shop which quoted a minimum of 200 pounds and several days for fixing my trusty laptop's broken case. Nathan did it at the Remakery on the spot for 35. Amazing DIY skills, what a brilliant place, wil l definitely recommend. More...

I can highly recommend the Sewing Basics 2 Sunday classes, I had an excellent tutor in Chiara Puppi. At 55+ I learnt how to thread, use different feet for standard stitch, button hole and zip, made a pouch, sewed on a button, made button hole, made a pencil case and put on a zip. Also you learn how to look after your machine and importantly clean the machine. Just need to practice now on my inherited sewing machine. Yippee! More...

I had a great time making mittens and more out of one sweater. Juan was an excellent instructor. I’m finishing my items off at home and pop them back once they’re made.

I went to 3 different places to get my laptop fixed. I needed to get a resistor fixed from my motherboard and this was the only place that did it and in just ~1 hour. I am very happy with the service and the staff. I hope not need to get my laptop fixed again but if I had, 200% I will go here again. I am going to recommend this place to my friends More...

Great little charity/second-hand saleroom. Mostly dealing in refurbished furniture and IT equipment. They have a drop-in session on Thursday afternoon /early evening for repairs if you're on a limited budget. A donation is suggested if the repairs are successful.Workbench and tool hire is also available, as is free WiFi. More...

I went in on Thursday for their drop-in evening session and one of their volunteers fixed my Samsung tablet - turned out to be a loose connection that had made the screen unusable. Awesome.

I want to congratulate Edinburgh Remakery on the efficiency and expertise of their IT team.I recently took my laptop to Remakery in Leith Walk knowing that the problems were considerable and the likelihood of restoration was questionable. The team got to work and managed to mend it and restore the laptop to perfect working order at minimal cost.Remakery now has one very happy customer who is most grateful and who highly recommends! The Remakery ethos is captivating. You can't deny we produce an amount of waste that is rather unsustainable. The Remakery movement is attempting to bring together skill sharing and recycling/reusing. They train volunteers into refurbishing furniture, computers and other items that could be considered waste and sell them in their stores and online. They often have great items donated by local organisations, such us desktop computers from universities that you can by for less than 100£.I do feel their prices are less than competitive, being generally possible to buy their products from other retailers at a lower price online. I absolutely -love- the Remakery. I'm a 25 yr old medical student and I've done 2 workshops here -- Sewing Basics, and Pyrography. In Sewing Basics I managed to learn the ropes and make a bandana for my dog, and in pyrography I ended up purchasing the table I had worked on as a gift for someone for Christmas. So often classes require a big commitment and its amazing to just spend a small part of the weekend, learn something, and take something home. -- Plus everyone is just so very friendly. :) My Happy Place More...
