Reka Lashawn was born in the projects to a teenage mother and then became a teenage mother with her own apartment in the projects. Life dealt her a particular hand, but it was up to Reka to determine how the cards would be played. Just because she was born into a certain situation, did not mean she was mandated to remain there and neither are you. It’s your life and your decision.

Reka Lashawn is a devoted mother of seven, mentor, teacher and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse! She firmly believes that an individuals beginning has no determination on their ending as long as they believe in themselves. Born and raised in Ft. Myers, Florida to a 16 year old mother, Reka continued this cycle, birthing her first child at the age of 16. In doing so, she has endured many hardships. Through dedication and perseverance, the experiences she encountered has created a desire to motivate others to pursue their dreams despite their circumstances.
