What do you love most about your job?
I love my job because ultimately it's about helping people in what is an exciting but also a potentially stressful time: getting another job. Having a keyword-optimised and persuasive CV is an important part of that. Also, I'm a people-person, I love speaking and interacting with people, and get considerable satisfaction in using what I've learned over the years to help others.
What inspired you to start your own business?
What inspired me to start my own business in 1993 was the belief I could offer a better service than competitors. I was confident not arrogant! Up to that point I'd always been good at getting any job I wanted: writing a good CV and interviewing well, so I thought I could make a living helping others do the same. Over the past nearly thirty years I've achieved that aim; I've edited possibly as many as a thousand CVs and helped many hundreds improve their interview technique.
Why should our clients choose you?
You should choose me because I'm a very experienced CV editor and interview trainer, and that experience has always been market-facing. I've always talked to employers as well as candidates, so I've never been detached from what they want.
My knowledge hasn't been gained purely theoretically, although I've read a lot of theory over the years; my knowledge has been gained empirically, by constantly testing what works in the job market.
