Rented under RMR (or Rees Associates as they were at the time) for 3 straight years in Cambridge, and have nothing but good words for them. Professional, dependable, honest people, who were always quick to respond to any issues and had them sorted with zero fuss to us as tenants. They even went through a full corporate merger without any complications to their clients! All fees were clearly explained upfront, no nasty surprises, and all costs were both reasonable and justified. At no point did we feel like we were 'just a source of money' to them, they went out of their way to make sure we were happy in our home and in our contract. Rees and Associates have been an absolute pleasure to have as a management property team since they became the property team on behalf on my landlords. From the first day to my last they all have been amazing nothing has been any bother or trouble for them when i needed them even in the middle of the night for the fire alarm code. The communication has been always smooth and efficient, and the staff proved very kind and helpful with all the matters I had. The apartment is beautiful, perfectly located and in a great position in the Mill Road area, close to pubs and shops. As a landlord with Rees & Associates Property Management, I would like to comment on the service they have provided me with over the past 5 years for my Cambridge properties. I have found them to be a very engaging and professional company to do business with. They provide me with very prompt and accurate monthly statements, and visit the rental properties on a regular basis. I noticed a review on this site was made by one of my tenants with disparaging comments about Rees & Associates that I would wish to respond to. She stated that after her initial 6-month tenancy, the rent was due to rise by £50 per month. This was simply not the case. Indeed she had been provided with a discount of £45 per month for the initial 6-month period due to a quiet period thus saving herself £270 in total. Furthermore, her rent thereafter, which she had been made aware of from the outset, was to revert to the normal monthly rent being paid by her fellow tenants for rooms that were comparable with her own. The normal rent had also been frozen for 2015 at 2014 rates! Her room was left with dust on the wooden window blinds, ceiling light shade, skirting boards and carpet. When a room is first offered to a tenant in good condition and in a clean and tidy state, it is not unreasonable I feel for the management company to expect to find the same when a tenant departs. We had no problems at all with Rees and they were only more than helpful with any issues that we had. We even managed (all four of us) to lock ourselves out of the house and they drove our keys over. Mr Rees himself was very friendly and the house we were staying in was due to undergo renovation.. He asked us how much we thought they should charge for rent as he wanted to be fair to the new tenants. Everyone at the agency seemed friendly enough and we didn't have any deductions at the end of our tenancy. I think if you're fair to them and you're realistic with your expectations (we were living in an old house), they will be fair to you.. We tried our best to resolve issues by ourselves and if we couldn't, and we explained.. They were only more than happy to help. We were organised and took pictures of everything when we moved in and went through the inventory with a fine tooth comb so that if we did have any issues with deposits we had a leg to stand on. Yes there are charges, but I'm sure there are with other agencies and they are in the contract.
