It's had to tell whether the food is better than the service or, the service is better than the food at Red Rock. Both are equally EXCELLENT! I would compare it in some ways to Charleston's. I tried a side dish that I didn't come out the way I thought, and even though I tried to make it work, I just couldn't eat it. The waitstaff happily made an exchange and everything about my meal was perfect again. The ambience of the establishment is great. It's generally pretty loud because of people talking and, seemingly, enjoying themselves. Restrooms are always clean and stocked with the essentials when I visit which is much appreciated. Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. I took home leftovers I was able to eat off of for 2 more days. If you've never been to Red Rock I'd definitely say it's worth putting on your foodie bucket list. More...

I have loved in OKC 10 years and tonight was the first night I have eaten at red rock. Now I have come one other time and that was for a Sunday brunch so I really didn't have much to go on. I came tonight with my parents who were in from out of town for the holidays and wanted to go out to dinner. I knew going to the lake Hefner would be a fun experience so we landed on red rock- wanting a bit more of a nice night out. We were not disappointed. The only other time I had been here I had the red rock salad- which was delicious. But tonight it was cold and I wanted something a bit more warm. We started with the dip duo. The pimento cheese was my favorite, the guacamole had massive chunks of avocado but it didn't taste or look very fresh. The chips were nice, a few greasy ones but overall they were nice and not overly salted like many other restaurants. Tonight I ordered the bone in pork chop and omg was it delicious! They were so tender and juicy and flavor! Which was such a nice treat considering how thick they were! Also this dish comes with 2 pork chops. So it's great if you are looking to share! The red skin mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection! Perfectly smooth and creamy. Also swap out the seasonal veggie for the glazed carrots- you will thank me later! Dad ordered the the BBQ pork ribs with rotisserie chicken- from where we were sitting we could see the chickens on the rotisserie. It also came with the red skin mashed potatoes but he opted for the seasonal veggie which was a simple corn on the cob. He enjoyed everything on his plate. Mom ordered the vegetable platter and was able to choose her own 5 items for the plate- mashed potatoes, canyon mushrooms (like burgundy mushrooms), glazed carrots, grilled squash and zucchini, and asparagus. Overall she really enjoyed her dish and the gravy from the mushrooms was the perfect addition to the mashed potatoes. Our service was amazing- but almost a little too much. It seems that their policy was to give each customer a new glass as soon as their cups were half full- so as you can imagine drinks were coming and going quite frequently. Both our waitress and the manager on shift came by multiple times to ask how our meal was. Once is great, twice is fine (towards the end of the meal) but by the 5th or 6th time it was a bit excessive and a little annoying to be quite honest. But I suppose I would rather have an attentive staff over a staff that takes 15 minutes to refill your first drink. We arrived 10 minutes early, I checked in with the hostess, we were seated. I told her we had a reservation. Had been seated for about 20 minutes, received a call from the restaurant wanting to know if we were going to make our reservation. I went to the hostess stand again, told them we had been there for over 30 minutes. Got back home and had received an email from Open Table saying we had made our reservation!!! Love this place. Every visit has been pretty consistent. It's like a Houstons with a little more selection and a little less pretense. I love all the items so far. I started coming here a couple months ago. I love the food, service and atmosphere, my daughter loves their Root beer floats! But they recently added a Teriyaki Ribeye that is AMAZING! Visiting a friend in Wichita, found this place on here thinking it was some BBQ joint. Was very pleasantly surprised with what it was. My subsequent visits have been much better so I changed to 5 stars. If you have a reservation, they almost always have a table ready based on my recent experience. And the food is great. Old review: Made reservations on Open Table. Arrived on time and told it would be at least a 20 minute wait. When I asked "what's the point of a reservation?", they didn't have an answer. we did our annual credit union dinner there which involves about a dozen people. we set the reservation for 5 pm on a Thursday which was a good idea, they offer one-half price appetizers from 4-6 pm we ordered all of them the pablono stuffed pepper was the standout in my opinion the calamari was just so- so, Brianna out waitress did a good job and I asked her about the oink? and the other item that had been removed from the menu that week and ordered the half rack of ribs and steak with the mashed potatoes and glazed carrots it was very good. we asked about wine and were told about he Hal Smith merlot offering tried it but went with a California merlot instead it wasn't bad just not great, everyone enjoyed themselves . would I go back It compares with a Charlestons or an Outback but was it the best I have at this price Point NO it does not excel but it is a nice atmosphere with the seating where we were overlooked the legacy park all in all good More...
