Q&As

Realise Futures is a social enterprise where people are at the heart of everything we do.
We work with people with disabilities and/or disadvantages, to realise their potential. We do this through RF WORKS, Learning and Development and Employment services.
We are one of the largest social enterprises in the East of England, employing approximately 340 people of which 30% are disabled and/or disadvantaged.
Success, for us, is measured by the positive impact on the lives of those we support and progress, as well as the profit we generate.

When you buy from us, you change people's lives:
You are supporting a social enterprise with a mission to improve people's social and economic wellbeing
You are giving people who are long-term unemployed, disabled and/or disadvantaged the opportunity to progress in work and life
You are helping thousands of people access learning and development in their communities
You are doing right by people and the planet by buying recycled plastic otherwise destined for landfill sites
You'll be helping people who haven't had the best breaks in life to progress and succeed

The benefits of using recycled plastic
We make our products from 100% recycled plastic, the planks are produced from waste plastic that would have been destined for landfill.
Using recycled materials in the manufacturing process used 75% less energy than required for producing new products from scratch (1). Each tonne of recycled plastic used saves 1.66 tonnes of CO2 (2).
Our products are crack, chip and splinter proof, less flammable than timber, insect and animal resistant, easy to clean and graffiti proof. Timber expands when it gets wet and shrinks when it dries which loosens fixings - recycled plastic doesn't absorb liquid as timber does.
Recycled plastic does not need retreating or painting and has a longer life than timber (tens of years to decades). Every part of our products apart from the fixings can be recycled again, all fixings can be recycled at local waste sites.
