We had a fantastic experience working with Ranch Events to cater our wedding! We have had nothing but fantastic service from this local, family-owned business. Ramon made the entire process seamless, and was responsive, professional, and an overall delight to work with. We ended up coming in for two tastings, both completely complimentary, and everything was cooked in-house and delicious! We had such a good experience working with Ramon, that we decided to expand our order to include furniture rentals for both our ceremony and reception. We also decided to go with Ranch Events in-house florist, Natalie, and had such a wonderful experience working with Natalie and were blown away by her arrangements and floral choices.Unfortunately due to the county-wide lockdown for COVID-19 two weeks before our wedding, we had to completely cancel all of our plans last minute. The team at Ranch Events were completely open in communication and empathetic in a time that must have been so difficult for their business, and kept our deposit available to be used on an event at a future date (which was fine with us!).We have nothing but positive things to say about Natalie, Ramon, and the entire Ranch Events team, and look forward to working with them again in the future to cater many celebrations to come. Currently they've been have breakfast,  lunch & dinner you can order online & pick up. The dinners feed 6 & are tasty. They will have Thanksgiving for you to order as well whole meals if you're interested.  There are also vegan meals as well which is great. My husband and I went back and forth about having our wedding this year due to the ramifications of Covid. Our original guest list was over 150 guests but since there was no way we could get everyone together in the near future, we finally decided to hold our wedding but invite family only and Zoom-invite everyone else. Everything went so smoothly. Megan was in charge of the catering. She was incredibly receptive to my many concerns and helped us with our final decisions in selecting a fabulous array of food. They even created individual boxes of charcuterie items to make sure no one touched anyone else's food. All of the servers were gloved and masked as well. My (now) husband and I were so caught up taking pictures after the ceremony that we didn't have a chance to pause and eat. We used Ranch Events for our wedding 8 YEARS AGO! The food and service was amazing then, and remains to this day. I heard on the radio that Ranch Events was offering meals for families of 4-6 for a VERY REASONABLE price. I bit the bullet and had my first meal last Thursday (BBQ Ribs). Not only was the meal reasonably priced for a family of 4-6, but it was enough for TWO DAYS. My husband can't stop raving about it. In fact, he'll ask me to check the website to find out the upcoming menus. We've taken meals out since. It is great since they post their menus in advance and we can pick and choose to our hearts delight.  You can even throw in a dessert if you wish for a nominal additional $5.00. I am looking forward to picking up our next meal tomorrow. What a service Ranch Events is doing for the community of San Diego, especially now in light of the pandemic. It is incredibly generous. My wife (25) and I (28) held our wedding reception with Ranch Events. We began planning the wedding with our Event Coordinator, Bernardo Valdez. From beginning to finish Bernardo was nothing short of professional, courteous, knowledgeable, hard working all while maintaining a sense of tranquility and approach ability. When the COVID pandemic began in March of 2020, my wife and I began to have some doubt. Bernardo was there to maintain constant communication and understanding through our times of questions and doubts. As businesses began to temporarily shut down, even the company's General Manager, Sid, reached out with personal communication and worked with us up until the date of our wedding to maintain open options. From my experience, times of tribulations really show a person's true character, and in this situation the character of an entire company. Bernardo and Sid both worked tirelessly, in uncharted waters, we were not alone during the preparation of the celebration of one of most important milestones of our lives, our wedding day. Ranch Events was able to help us accomplish a spectacular celebration within guidelines. My wife and I along with our family had a fun, safe, amazing celebration. Our wedding was July 2019. From beginning to end, I can only say great things about Ranch Events. Bernardo and his team were excellent. How it all started:My (then fiancé) now wife and I were walking through the Marina Village area viewing potential wedding venues. A docile gentleman (Bernardo) approached us and asked if we needed any help. We told him we were looking around for a wedding venue. Bernardo smiled and said, "Follow me into my office and I'll show you what we can offer." We had no idea Ranch Events was a company that provided EVERYTHING for a wedding. The venue by the water, the tables, the chairs, the decorations, the food, the cake, the flowers. We were happily surprised with the information Bernardo gave us. He was honest, very nice, bi-lingual, and never pushy. He asked us what we imagined our wedding to look like and he gave us options/ideas. After completing our due diligence and investigating other locations for our wedding location, by a long shot we chose to have our wedding with Ranch Events in the Marina Village area. They were courteous, helpful and answered all of our concerns. We toured the venue, had delicious food tastings, cake tastings (amazing cake BTW), and countless meetings with Bernardo to confirm every last detail. He kept in constant contact with my wife and I via email, text, and phone. The preparation of Bernardo and his team was outstanding. Come our wedding day, Bernardo was at our wedding the ENTIRE night. He was there personally to make sure everything went just as we'd planned. He was working tirelessly to make sure my wife and I were happy. Our wedding was perfect.Bernardo and his team of servers, cooks, designers, finance, florists, etc. were such a pleasure to work with. First off, our wedding was March 15 and probably one of the last events in San Diego before shelter in place. I thought things were wild the week before due to us planning around rainy weather. Little did I know things would get crazier with COVID. With that being said, all of our vendors handled our event with so much grace and professionalism. We could not have done this without them!! We had our wedding at the JFG and Ranch Events was on their preferred catering list. After our first meeting we knew we wanted to work with Bernardo and his team. Bernardo is kind, patient, responsive, very experienced, detail oriented, professional, flexible and accommodating! He was our favorite vendor. He responded quickly and was available by many forms of communication. I've eaten this food several times. Most recent, a Veteran's event - food was slow, cold, and greasy. The 'iced tea' tasted like powered mix in tap water. Expensive price for low quality food. Kitchen is filthy. Fully Hispanic staff. They no longer have a liquor license.I really wonder how such a service is placed is such prestigious locations. More...

I worked with Ramon for my September 2018 wedding.Ramon was very responsive to all of my communication from the start - very flexible when I had to move around the tasting time more than once. The tasting was amazing, I was able to bring along my now husband and both of my parents. Prior to the tasting I informed Ramon that I had a gluten allergy - he was very accommodating, they modified many of the dishes to be gluten free during the tasting. We were very impressed with Ranch Events after the tasting so we decided to hire them!Ranch events provided catering, appetizers & dinner - they provided a mainly gluten free meal at no extra cost which was a huge plus! They were also very accommodating at providing a couple of vegetarian meals for guests who did not eat meat or fish - again at no extra charge. Along with this they provided linens & napkins, they have great color choices as well as sequin table cloths which we used! They also provided the bartending for our event - we provided the alcohol & the mixers and they provided everything else, such a big cost saver! Ranch events also provided the chairs and arch/arbor for our ceremony. My husbands aunt makes wedding cakes, she provided our cake and Ranch Events cut the cake, but we had to provide our own disposable ware for the cake in order to not incur an extra charge. Ranch events did provide chocolate dipped strawberries - which were delicious!Ranch events is a very great company in that they offer so many services - they are esentially a one stop shop. Our guests raved about the food and many claimed that it was the best food that they have ever had at a wedding! I cannot remember our Captains name from the day of - but he was great and very attentive, he introduced himself and told me to let him know if I needed anything throughout the night, a very kind gesture.My only complaint is the lack of appetizers during cocktail hour from my guests perspective, I heard that many guests had difficulty getting an appetizer and that there were not very many trays being passed around. I wasn't at the cocktail hour for long and I don't recall seeing any appetizers.Overall I would hire Ranch events for a future event - they were professional, provided good value over competitors & offered services above & beyond from catering which made wedding planning that much easier - less vendors!Thank you Ranch Events! Our wedding ceremony and reception Hall was catered by Ranch Catering. If it wasn't for the food we would have given them a much lower rating. Our ceremony was done on the patio where we thought there was an outlet. It didn't work and had to get them to turn it on at the last minute. Our reception Hall was crazy hot and we were told it was air conditioned. After asking multiple times for fans, it finally showed up at the end of the party. This place takes the (wedding) cake! They work well with Marina Village and are right on-site so it makes planning much easier. I do not like the way the lady who picks up the phone speaks. She is so condescending and rude. I called at 9 am today. The food and service was received by guests and family with many compliments, but it was the manner in which the service was provided by your staff, that drew the greatest reviews.My daughters and indeed our two families were impressed by the professionalism and personal touch & the attention to detail. It was difficult to find a caterer in our budget, but these guys got the job done, and did it right! Bernardo, you were great. Thank You! And the waitstaff was so courteous. Everyone at the wedding loved the food (we did buffet style). And they set up the room to look great. They also cleaned up that room in record time! Its nice to know that they'll be sure to take care of all the little stuff so you don't have to worry about it on your big day.
