Rachel Reider Interiors

With just one look at Rachel Reider Interiors' portfolio, it's easy to see why I wanted to work with this talented team. Their photos have dominated my Houzz idea books for years. The challenge in doing so was my recent move to Charlotte, North Carolina. (RRI is based in Boston, Massachusetts.) On a whim, I reached out anyway, and I am so glad I did. Rachel took a chance on a long distance project with me, and the results are even better than I imagined! Using photographs, taking precise measurements and discussing expectations allowed RRI to skillfully envision the guest rooms in our home. What sets Rachel, Tricia, and the entire RRI team apart from the sea of designers found here? Creatively, their spectacular designs served to push me ever so slightly outside my comfort zone, which I love. (I aspire to have such great taste! LOL) When I was uncertain of an item, RRI sent me alternatives, which more often than not, gave me the confidence to go with their original choice. Rachel and her team are prompt communicators, yet were gracious when I was unintentionally less prompt in checking email. The RRI team sent fabric samples, full-color renderings, and precise layouts for my review... and then conference-called me to walk through the minutiae of it all. They sourced local vendors to complete on-site work (...think custom curtain and lighting installs, etc.) and provided detailed estimates and concise monthly statements to keep our budget on track. When an item was delayed due to a back-ordered fabric, they gave me the option to wait or use an alternate, equally stunning option. I have been lucky to have had the chance to work with other design professionals prior, and in comparison, the transparency with which RRI operates (in terms of breaking down overall cost including design fees, custom goods, etc.) is refreshing. Surprise costs aren't fun for anyone, and this level of detail eliminated that stress. I cannot offer enough praise for the work that Rachel, Tricia and the RRI team did for us. We have worked with Rachel Reider and her team on a few projects over the years, starting in 2010 when we moved from a city place to a house and again most recently on a newly renovated vacation house. We could not be more thrilled with the design, service, and vision. Rachel is a master at putting together color/pattern/texture, and layering them in artful ways. The result is exactly how we had hoped it would look, but never would have been able to achieve on our own. Rachel understands the aesthetic that we gravitate towards and the functionality and practicality (3 young boys) that we need, and she brings it all to the design. We had an excellent experience with Rachel, decorating our new house. She really took the time to understand both our style and our lifestyle with two young kids. We recently completed a full renovation of our home and chose Rachel Reider because we loved the pictures of her work and how bold and playful she was with color and design. We could not be more thrilled with the result. Rachel is amazing. We brought her on board early in the project, and she worked closely and seamlessly with our architect and our builder. She and her team were extremely responsive and managed the timeline of the interior design process so that it dovetailed smoothly into the architect's and builder's timing. She also kept within our budget and made smart choices about how to get the most out of it.

Beyond the process, Rachel's work speaks for itself. She understood what we wanted, and made our rooms fresh, inviting, durable for our young family, and infused with fun and beauty at every turn. Rachel and her team proved themselves to be good listeners, talented designers, and budget conscious. The result: a home we love.

Rachel was upfront about what was and wasn't possible within our budget. She managed to create a design plan that pleased both my husband and me, which is no easy task considering we have different tastes. The team handled contractors, billing, delivery of furniture, questions, and edits with utmost professionalism.

We recently moved from the city to the suburbs and knew it was time to upgrade our JV furnishings as our family graduated from an apartment to a house. But rather than just make a mad dash to replace all our furniture at once, we wanted to focus on the rooms we would use the most and create an overall look and feel that reflected our personal style. We have been working with Rachel and her team since 2011, when she worked with us, our architect and our contractor to design, build and decorate our weekend / summer home. Rachel made what was a daunting process almost simple. She worked closely with our architect and contractor, substantially managing much of the scheduling and communication process. We feel that by incorporating a number of suggestions Rachel made at the design stage, we have really added to the charm and functionality of our home. My husband and I both find Rachel very pleasant and easy to work with: she is professional and organized; she listens to and incorporates our thoughts and concerns; and is respectful of our budget. I've been working with Rachel since I bought my first house, three years ago. There are many reasons to work with her, but for me the most important has always been her complete professionalism. Deadlines are met, progress is made and things get done. She makes everything easy - arranging all of the deliveries/installations to be as efficient as possible. And she can work across price points. In my living room she went all out - in the family spaces she was really thoughtful about where to invest and where not to, since we have a dog and a little boy.

We worked with Rachel Reider and her company to design our 11 room boutique hotel on Nantucket. We started with a fussy bed and breakfast and three months later, we had a first rate hip boutique hotel. Gone was the flowery wallpaper and the astro-turf green carpet and in it's place were beautifully re-finishd wood floors, striking custom headboards and window treatments, and all of the perfect accents to make our guests want their home to look just like our hotel. I've been a client of Rachel Reider interiors since 2009. Since that time, Rachel has worked to remodel/redecorate 8 rooms in my home including a kitchen and master bathroom. . We worked with Rachel to overhaul our Master Bedroom and then to update many of our home's living areas. Through every step of the process, Rachel had an uncanny sense of what both my husband and I wanted, were concerned about, and would like - and was then able to find solutions that incorporated all of that - and were gorgeous and livable.
