01 October 2019R&R Exteriors - A Review by Tim Kasse and Jan Bower on the insurance paid-for repairs carried out by R&R Exteriors following a destructive hail storm. 8121 Latigo Trail, McKinney, TexasA hail storm rolled across the northern metroplex at the end of March 2019. Volleys of hail as large as golf balls hit parts of McKinney, Frisco and Plano. Hail pounded houses, cars, windows and fences before the storm moved on. Up and down Latigo Trail in McKinney the destruction was dramatic as people came out of their homes to see what happened to their cars and homes.While many companies large and small were knocking on doors quickly after the hail destruction, R&R Exteriors came to our house and our neighbors and immediately gave us a first look over. By that I mean they went up on the roof and checked all around the house. They did that to help us deal with our insurance company. We had used R&R Exteriors some years ago when our roof needed replacing and they had performed excellent high quality work and we believed they would again. Climbing on the roof to give us a first-hand look right away was the perfect starter to satisfy our expectations.To summarize what damage had been caused;• The entire roof needed to be replaced• The gutter needed to be replaced all around the house• At least five windows were cracked and had to be replaced. Some of them no one could see unless they were up real close. R&R Exteriors got up real close!• Damaged window screens had to be replaced• Pipes on the roof were dinged• The garage door was splintered on the edges• The ceiling had water stains from water leaking in from the hail damage to the roof• The air conditioner vent cover had to be replaced• And last but not least our 8-foot fence was completely replaced. It had been beat to pieces like someone had taken a claw hammer and beat it for hours. We were allowed to debate what was to be done and why and our input was always listened to and considered. Along the way little extras that would not be provided by any repair company found their way into our home because of the diligence of R&R ExteriorsExpert specialty subcontractors like for the leaking roof, broken windows and especially the fence were of the highest quality. In fact, our Home Owners Association (HOA) wrote Jan and me a letter commending us on restoring our house and fence to a level better than it was when the house was originally built. The HOA said value was added to the neighborhood by our repairs. Provided by R&R Exteriors!!When the rains finally stopped and the last repairs were made and signed off Jan and I were as proud of our home as any homeowner could be. This is a great company that took great care of us. I had no desire to meet with the insurance company to go over the damages, and that is ok because Dave Fry handled everything for me. He was awesome. Dave took the time to go over everything with me, answered all my questions, and made my case for me to the insurance company of why we needed a new roof. If you need someone to come inspect your roof, ask for Dave Fry, he will take care of you. Sarah, the office manager, also did an amazing job. She worked with both our solar power company and insurance company to coordinate the replacement of our roof. It's my pleasure to have Noah Tormos as my roofing consultant. R&R Exteriors meet and excess all my expectation. The crews do best job on the roofs, clean up is excellent. Roofing materials have been under warranty for thirty years. I just hope, they will withstand all the Texas weather like my original roof with no issues until another twenty years as my original roofs have been-cannot predict the future, only time will tell.
