Have just had a new boiler and two radiators replaced. I'm very pleased with the whole experience. From being given a quote to completion of the job, everything was done quickly and efficiently. We had already been let down TWICE by another company and so a friend recommended Dakins. I emailed them and Daryl, one of their plumbers, came out that same day, arrived 5 mins early! Knew straight away what needed doing, went off to get a couple of other small parts that were required for the job, returned half an hour later, got on with what needed doing and completed it promptly and efficiently. He did a superb job and the taps/shower attachment that he fitted work like a dream and the bath panel that he fitted fits beautifully. Lovely professional job and left no mess whatsoever. I needed a new central heating boiler and was given a very competitive quote beating other quotes by quite a large margin. The work was carried out exceptionally efficiently. All areas made good when the work was completed and the removal of the old appliance, packaging and any rubbish. No mess and no fuss. The workmen who did the work were very friendly and polite. Explained things to me as they carried out the work. I was advised the work would take most of the day to complete and it was completed on time. I got lots of quotes for a new boiler and not only were Dakins very competitive their service was second to none. The quote was provided really quickly and a date set to replace the boiler that was best for me. The 2 fitters were on time, polite, made as little mess as possible and what little they did make was all cleaned away. They took the time to fully explain the workings of the boiler and controls as well as making sure I understood the terms and conditions of the 10yr warranty. Ahh! A water leak not one but two, A phone call to Dakins and I had a plumber within in a half hour, 1 hour later job done super My other leak was a bit more complex (cold water tank in loft) however Dakins came within half hour found leak this was stopped temporarily until a new water tank was sourced this was replaced . I had no hesitation in contacting R Dakin & Sons when I needed a plumbing problem resolving, as I had procured their services earlier this year. Although it was a very small problem it was attended to the day after my initial contact and "done and dusted" inside half an hour. The lads arrived at the appointed hour and were "all business", I could not have asked for more. Called Richard in to install a complete new central heating system to replace my 45 year old back boiler system. This had worked well, but not very efficiently, until last month when it finally gave up the ghost. Richard and his team completed the installation in 2 1/2 days to a most professional standard with a minimum of disruption and mess left behind. I was without heating or hot water when returning from holiday due to a fault with my old boiler. R Dakin & Sons had an engineer at my house very quickly and diagnosed the fault. I decided to go for a new boiler (long overdue) and again, they were able to schedule this in far more quickly than I'd expected. Having had a quick shop around it was clear that I was getting great value for money. I had a problem with my central heating and hot water supply one Sunday morning and chose to contact a local firm, R Dakin & Sons. My e-mail, detailing the problem and a couple of plumbing defects, was answered within a quarter of an hour. Not only was the response incredibly fast, but contained enough detail to enable me to start to organise things from "my end".Early the following day I received an e-mail saying that a plumber could be in attendance "first thing" Tuesday and a central heating engineer around dinner time. In fact the central heating lads came and fixed that problem on Monday afternoon. Richard is blumin brilliant. Not only did he sort out the noise coming from awkwardly placed tank in the roof! He changed my outside tap, saved the frogs in my pond by adding a very effective plank for them to get in and out, and also, on returning from the plumbers merchants had popped into a corner shop to get a fuse to get my waterfall in the garden working. I am a private landlord living between England and Canada. Richard has been absolutely amazing, he looks after my servicing and repair issues. He responds promptly to complaints from my tenant and always checks for authority through me. He has never undertaken any unnecessary work and is upfront and honest about the work and costs involved.
