Hi, my name is Rowenna and I am a qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Coach. I use these transformational tools to help people identify and overcome life limiting factors which may be holding them back from living the life they truly want, and create a more fulfilling life with real meaning.
What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a solution focused approach to therapy where we work together to help you create a more positive model of the world and your place in it, transforming limiting beliefs, behaviours, memories and experiences. It is different from traditional hypnotherapy in that it is a two way process where you’ll be fully engaged, using your imagination with guidance and support to help you reframe memories, your beliefs about yourself, others and the world. This works by guiding the client into a light trance state (similar to daydreaming or times when you are lost in thought), where we then work on getting the subconscious to access memories and experiences related to your problem and use techniques to change the way your mind and body reacts to the stimulus. This causes the subconscious to create new response programmes and react differently to the problem or type of situation, creating new neural pathways in the brain and literally rewiring the way your brain works.
My Approach
I use a range of integrative techniques to help you do this in a way which works for you, including a range of traditional and modern therapeutic approaches based in Evolutionary Psychology, NLP, CBT and Positive Psychology, along with modern and traditional Hypnotherapy and forward thinking techniques such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and EMI (Eye Movement Integration, based on EMDR). I am also a qualified Mindfulness Meditation teacher, and I often combine mindfulness techniques into my therapeutic work to help my clients deepen connection to themselves and others, bring a more balanced approach to stressful situations and find more peace and contentment in life.
I get to know my clients and create a bespoke treatment plan which is personal and adaptable to their needs. This includes personalised hypnosis audios which are designed to help you move towards your desired state quickly and effortlessly, specific tasks between sessions, personalised activities and book recommendations to help you learn more about whatever you're facing and move forward towards your goals.

Background
I came to my training in Cognitive Hypnotherapy after having worked in education for 10 years. I decided to leave the profession when I realised that the stress and anxiety experienced by students and staff was getting worse and worse each year, and that the help and support that I could provide as a teacher was becoming more and more limited due to high workloads and my own stress levels rising. I had sought support with my own anxiety and depression and found Cognitive Hypnotherapy was able to help me transform my life in a way that other treatments had not helped in the past. I realised that this was my true calling and I began my transition to becoming a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and Coach.
I now help people to overcome the life limiting impact of anxiety, depression, addictions and negative self beliefs that are holding them back, incorporating my experience and training as a mindfulness teacher to help people create more balanced lives. I have worked with many people of all ages, helping them to overcome anxiety related problems and afflictions such as eating disorders, obsessive thinking, work related stress, self confidence issues, phobias and fears (such as public speaking, flying etc), and free themselves from habits and addictions.
