What do you love most about your job?
I knew from the age of 5 that I wanted to be a teacher and that's all I've ever wanted to do. I believe that education is the great leveller and holds the key to a successful future. I believe in good practice and excellence in everything I do.
I am a multi-skilled and experienced Teacher with over 20 years experience. My expertise is EYFS/Primary, but due to increasing requests I now also tutor KS1, KS2 and Year 7 students (face to face and online). I would describe myself as having an empathic and friendly manner which put children at ease immediately. I am well organised, punctual and want to see students achieve their potential. I have a thorough knowledge of the EYFS/Primary curriculum and the 7+ and 11+ entrance examinations. My approach is child led, ensuring lessons are engaging, age appropriate but effective, referring to curriculum targets to ensure coverage. I absolutely enjoy teaching including 1:1 and small groups.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I love teaching and tutoring seemed the most natural career path. In addition I have used my teaching skills to deliver Zumba classes locally and co-ordinate Coding and Robotics Workshops for children aged 8+ in Wandsworth and Lambeth with my husband. In addition, my experience and success in Early Years has led to my providing Specialist Early Years advice for local Childminders and Nurseries.

I ensure that students are properly assessed in the subject being taught, lessons are then planned accordingly and reviewed after each lesson to see impact. I believe in promoting best practice and all materials, resources and books we use support this. I have up-to-date DBS checks in place and am also on the update subscription service.

During the pandemic I successfully moved all my tuition online with continued success for KS1 and KS2 students. I continue to offer remote learning and have perfected the technology to ensure maximum learning opportunities for my students when online.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I offer online learning for the majority of my students. Where I deliver face to face tuition, I practice sensible and safe hygiene routines and ask that parents and students do the same.

I am a qualified SENCo and offer tuition to those students up to Secondary age who have special educational needs in English and Maths.
ZUMBA GOLD INSTRUCTOR IN TOOTING
I am a Licensed Zumba and ZUMBA GOLD Instructor since 2016 and a qualified teacher. I teach ZUMBA GOLD every Tuesday and Friday from 2pm and 3pm at The Furzedown Project in Tooting.
