Puako provisions catering

Exactly what we needed for a quick dash from our vacation rental.  After a long day in the sun or the car or both who wants to make a 30 minute round trip down to Foodland when a 5 minute trip to the Puako General Store gets you what you need. A decent bottle of wine and a most excellent pint of Tropical Dreams ice cream. They had some tasty looking poke and nice looking papayas too but being on vacation mode solid food can wait till tomorrow. The employee who rang us up was cheerful too. Mahalo! More...

Really nice shop to grab day to day essentials and plenty of carry out foods. We went there to grab a poke bowl but they only have those on the weekends so keep that in mind if your going there to grab a bite to eat. Overall, super tiny and cute place

Ok.  If your coming from the mainland and you're not frequent to the islands you may think the prices are high.  BUT... it's a neat little store and we felt the prices, for Hawaii, were not crazy.  They have beer and wine and small bottle of booze.  They make sandwiches and salads fresh daily and have all sorts of stuff you'll need on vacation.  Every employee was nice , except one, who went out of her way to basically demonstrate we were not locals.  But ignore that.  Stop by if your at the locals beach for sunset or snorkeling. What a delightful spot! We have visited this area many times but never checked out the community of Puako. So very worth the effort. The General Store is a great spot with basic groceries for same or better price than similar small stores in the steak resorts. Whenever we go to Beach 69, we usually make a stop at the Puako General Store. They have a diverse selection of ready to eat items like sandwiches, wraps, salads and delicious poke every Friday. They also offer daily specials that are prepared by a local chef. I write this review as hurricane Lane heads towards us.  The Puako General store was open, and ready for business with a smile.  Plenty of food on the shelves, Absolut vodka on sale, and two lovely ladies making the best out of a serious situation.Aside from the food reviews, just come for the Aloha.  Grab a snack and head towards the beach access.  This is a gem.
