Paula transformed our family room from a chaotic living space for a family into a serene, calming space for empty nesters. She listened to our desires and provided the perfect room to relax in. We were hesitant about purchasing a sofa and chairs without actually sitting on them in a store, but they turned out to be the most comfortable ones we have ever owned. Also, hats off to Ken Sanquist of Sanquist and Sons for building the most beautiful, sturdy cabinet/drop spot made of reclaimed wood.
Despite manufacturing delays due to the Pandemic, Paula got the job done!

Paula helped me redo my existing LR and DR. I had a pretty firm idea of what style I liked (preppy, colorful, kid/pet friendly) including a fabric I had fallen in love with and wanted to incorporate but I didn't have the time or resources to find anything other than what I like to call "Pottery Barn Blah". Paula totally got me. She pulled a whole room together for me on the first try. She even listened to my husband who was different taste than I do:) and was considerate of his ideas. We still have a few things left to do (due to backorders and errors in shipping the wrong colorwave) but I am in love with where the rooms are now. Once we finish it will be fabulous. I plan to use Paula going forward as we undergo a full house renovation this spring! More...

Paula listens and creates. I wanted a romantic feeling bedroom for my husband and I. He's been ill for a little over a year and upon his full recovery, I wanted us to enjoy our bedroom. We enjoy it so much that we have our coffee together each morning in our newly decorated romantic "get-a-way". It's better than ANY up-scale hotel room.
Thank you, Paula for a job well done.

Paula has done a great job updating a very dark, dated, unusual family room and office level of my home. She worked with what I wanted to keep, totally got me and what the rooms needed. She picked the perfect paint color, furniture, fabrics and carpet. The whole level has a cohesive bright nice vibe. Paula transformed the main living areas of our house (LR, DR, FR, kitchen, study, powder room) into a beautiful yet comfortable space that reflects our tastes and fits the way we use our house. Even though we did not have a clear sense of what we wanted when we started the project, Paula helped us figure out what we liked and needed with respect to everything from paint color to window treatments and furniture. She also found a way to incorporate the furniture, art, etc. that we wanted to keep into the larger plan. Not only are Paula's design instincts incredible, but her ability as a project manager is also impressive. She found and coordinated multiple contractors ranging from painters and electricians to people who replace fireplaces and reupholster furniture. She took care of everything, including when things veered from the original plan. She stayed within the budget and kept us apprised of changes and developments. Our project was a combination of various challenges. The first was that we had combined two households full of furniture and purged very little. (The result was not pretty.) Second, we wanted to solve a number of problems, including that we disliked having the TV in the eat-in kitchen, we didn’t have enough seating for everyone to watch TV together when the children were home for the holidays, and we needed a mudroom/closet space installed in the main entrance to the house from the garage. Third, both of us had inherited furniture from family, and had not bought any furniture together, so we hadn’t gotten the opportunity to choose what we liked. Thus, there was no rhyme or reason to our so-called style. "Eclectic" was too kind a word to describe where we were when we met Paula! On top of that, although we initially thought from watching HGTV that the two of us shared similar taste, it turns out that he likes very modern and I like traditional/antique/eclectic.

Remarkably, despite having her work cut out for her, Paula was able to work with all of these challenges and come up with a solution that pleased his desire for a modern, clean look and my desire for a warm home full of meaningful art and decor. She incorporated lovely, modern new furniture (all SO comfortable for my husband's bad back!) with my grandmother's paintings, piano, and antique chandeliers. How she managed to do this in a way that pleases both of us is still beyond me, but she certainly did, and we’re hooked. We initially were going to just have her work on our den space, but we ended up doing the den (with plenty of seating for the entire family to watch TV together, plus a new custom mudroom area designed and built by Ken – amazing!); the entire kitchen area, which now includes two great seating areas and a lovely dining area; and our bedroom.

We could not be happier, and recommend Paula without reservation. Her design is flawless, and she is so good at listening and attending to the details of what her customers like (even paying attention to the colors we had already incorporated). We are so enjoying our new spaces that fit us so much better than they did before, both in terms of aesthetics and function, and wish we had done it sooner. I’m planning on asking Paula to decorate my office for me in the near future.

I could not be more pleased with the work and with the entire process, beginning to end, with PT Designs. Before I hired Paula I did a lot of research and interviewed a number of vendors. I knew that PT Designs was the best choice from our first meeting. Going into the project I had a general idea of the look and feel that I wanted, but nothing concrete. I showed Paula a few pictures and talked a little bit about the style I was going for and Paula "got it"-- she immediately had a bunch of really creative ideas and suggestions that convinced me that she was going to be able to execute on my vision--even if at that point I didn't really have a complete vision. In addition to design sensibility, I think the thing that I appreciated the most about the process was her willingness to work with me and consider all my ideas and answer my questions (a LOT of questions). Since knocking down walls was NOT in the budget, Paula was tasked with maximizing the assets of the existing space--in this case a small galley kitchen circa 1970. Paula provided a number of design options for my budget, and when I had questions or ideas she was always happy to research solutions and price them so that I could consider. The project evolved from a refresh to something a little more extensive and every step of the way Paula was a trusted adviser, providing accurate information about price, process, materials, and options. The project itself provided all flooring, cabinets & counters, shelving, lighting, windows and painting. She obviously has a great relationship with the local vendors she works with, which made scheduling accurate--a huge plus. The vendors she used were neat, professional, and courteous. Paula oversaw every aspect of the project and inspected the work at every stage. If something wasn't perfect the first time, she made sure it got corrected. Most important--MY NEW KITCHEN IS AMAZING! The transformation from a cramped, dark, galley kitchen to a unique space that feels like my family's in-house cafe! Paula's instincts were right on the money. Funky, eclectic, but still clean and pulled together. The new space is lighter, feels larger, has less clutter, and improved functionality. The process and the product exceeded my expectations--thank you Paula! More...

PT Designs Inc. along with Sanquist & Son Builders designed built, and installed built-in cabinets, a window seat, and bookshelves for our office room, plus added recessed lighting and trim work (crown moulding and casing) to transform our room from a blah box into a space that rocks.

Paula and Ken collaborated with us through the entire process, making sure that we were always on the same page. They were always available to discuss questions and they were always responsive. Paula's color and material choices, and overall room planning were perfect for the space. Ken worked nonstop for several days to construct and install the built-ins, do all the electrical and trim work, and paint everything. Are they perfectionists? We think so because the results were perfect.

We plan to hire PT Designs Inc. again for future projects like finishing a large unfinished basement room, adding a bathroom to the basement, and creating a beach-feel bedroom.

First off I have to say that Paula is AMAZING! Everything about her is great. You can't go wrong when using her for your next project.

My husband and I were building a new home and decided to go to a furniture store and buy a new living room set. We bought this huge set we loved and paid for in full January 2014. We kept in touch with our sales guy and even went back and bought more stuff from him to complete our new home. Called him to remind him of the delivery date and he says it won't be delivered, it's a little late arriving. After speaking with the manager found out he never ordered our custom made furniture! CRAP! What was I going to do? We were going to settlement in a few weeks. So I go on Houzz and start looking up designers in the area. Paula is local, does jobs of all sizes and price points. Sounds good, right? So I gave her a call.

When I called Paula she answered and was so energetic and at the same time sympathetic to what happened to us. She immediately set an appointment to come out to my place and look at my current furniture and then drive to our new home so she could measure spaces and talk about what our vision was and what kinds of Ideas we had.

Everything was so easy with Paula. Not only did she come up with a theme for our home but it perfectly blended my husbands and I two different styles together perfectly.

She brought everything to us, all samples of fabrics, leathers, rugs, curtains, paint swatches so we could see and feel everything which is so nice to do because you never want to blindly agree to something.

Basically to sum everything up I would recommend Paula to anyone and everyone. You can't go wrong when using her.
