Lovely staff and great surroundings. Afternoon tea was delicious!

Had a very nice lunch here on Easter Monday today. Roast lamb was very nice, plenty of meat and very tender. We sat outside in the sun afterwards for teas and coffees. Could've done with more umbrellas for shade in the garden, but didn't seem to affect the popularity. Little children's playground, which the kids liked and helpfully shaded by some trees. Great for a sunny day More...

Excellent breakfast experience here this morning, not cheap, but worth every penny.Charming young and enthusiastic staff made both us and our bosterious Jack Russell welcome, even serving him his own bowl of water! The breakfast was very good quality and perfectly cooked, I particularly enjoyed the sausages and (not overly) smoked bacon, we also really liked the sourdough toast served with it. More...

We had a fantastic lunch experience here. Although the place was very busy, the service was very warm and courteous. The French-inspired food was delicious; we ordered the sole and the veggie mains (mushroom/butternut squash) and both came with mouthwatering sauces (lobster and tomato respectively). We had a scone as well and it was one of the best we ever had - warm, fresh, and tasty!! Overall, great food and great service made for a memorable outing. More...

Stunning house, beautiful grounds.

Customer service is a little below average which is really unfortunate as this place could be amazing.

Staff are friendly enough but their efficiency and training lacks hugely. Often big unnecessary queues due to slow staff.

However, DO NOT let that put you off, still worth going for the great setting etc.

Food was good, wine was expensive but other drinks prices were as you'd expect. Went on a jazz night and that was great - would definitely recommend. Staff were all very nice but service was hit and miss. The couple next to us waited for nearly an hour for food. Overall would recommend and would go again. If I could would give 4 and 1/2 stars not 5 but don't feel it deserves just 4. More...

It was a good family lunch time in Stanmer. Beautiful rooms with stunning decors, you can just walk there for plenty of hours. Afternoon tea with snacks were okay - staff polite and efficient More...

Our family had a wonderful time in this beautiful venue. Weather was really nice and we had a pleasant time outside. It's a definitely good place for having time outside with tea or coffee or glass of wine :)

I came with my mother and partner to a bottomless Brunch deal that got emailed to me for a good price. We have been to Stanmer House before for brunch (not bottomless) and it was great. We found the service and the food to be amazing. The servers were kind and attentive. They were also accommodating to our little. In particular, Bruno and Alex were superior in their service. They made the experience that much better and were so friendly and had a "can-do" attitude! We loved it but did get quite drunk! Definitely will be coming back. The pancakes and fruit salad were fantastic! More...

I came all the way from Scandinavia to try a bit of British culture, and chose to try a roast at this fantastically beautiful venue. Along with the food being absolutely delicious, I must say I was very intrigued by the dessert I had, The Sussex Pond Pudding.

When I told a waiter to compliment the desserts, I really wanted the recipe, and the waiter said no problem, as the pastry chef Steen Madsen was very happy to share his recipes with people who enjoy them.
I’ll be taking The Pond Pudding back to Norway where I’m sure my family will love it just as much as I did.

We came to Stanmer House for afternoon tea, as a belated treat for my mum's birthday.

We had a fabulous time. Julieanne in particular was very helpful. We were actually booked in for the coming Monday, but as we were passing, decided to chance it and see if we could arrive earlier. Julieanne arranged that for us, and we only had to wait a few minutes whilst they got the table ready.

The food was tasty and plentiful, the tea delicious and the views out on to Stanmer Park beautiful.

For what we had, the price was very reasonable, too.

All in all, a positive experience.

My family and I visited the Stanmer House for an afternoon tea.
Having this beautiful weather we were lucky to experience it outside in a fabulously set garden.
The choice of canapés and cakes was brilliant and everything was really tasty.
I would definitely recommend the place for families.
I would also like to express my appreciation to Bruno who made our visit very special.
Thank you
