I have literally never had a bad meal here. The portions are large, the food is clearly farm to table and it is such a feel good experience to eat there.
Properly Fueled is a fairly fast and conveniently healthy way of ordering and eating, in Bordentown, NJ. They utilize locally sourced farm fresh ingredients from their neighborhood merchants.Hubby and I came here for lunch at noon time and found the parking to be a breeze. We parked nearby on a weekday (Thursday to be exact) and we came in and ordered the Jackfruit Crabless Cake Sandwich $12 with a cafe mocha at $5 for myself and the Baja Fresco Salad Bowl $11.50 with an additional $3 for tofu for my hubby. The cashier rung up the order and gave the order to another employee who manned the beverage and food station. After which that young lady informed us they had run out of tofu. They offered a refund or a substitution for the protein. Their choices were chicken or salmon and will charge him the difference. We inquired if the chicken was mock chicken and after realizing they only offered the real chicken, we explained he's a strict vegan. Hubby later ordered a Fiesta Quinoa Chili as the substitute. With that settled, I was quickly given the big mug of cafe mocha. As I sampled it, I felt they must have been very heavy handed with the chocolate syrup. I honestly could not taste any coffee in the cup. I just figured as I quaff my drink, the coffee will start to come through. After a while, we received our order: my Jackfruit Crabless Sandwich served with a huge sunflower seed bun and my husband's Baja Fresco salad bowl. We were a bit confused to whose the side of white sauce it belonged to. I tasted it and thought it was for his salad but he had thought it was my vegan tartar sauce insisting the salad dressing would have been put into his bowl as we see our neighbor's salad bowls. Upon tasting it, we deduced it to be his salad dressing but when I lifted my crabless cake, I found no vegan tartar sauce. The young lady who prepares the beverages and food gave me a side bowl of the tartar sauce, upon request. Let me be honest and say, I found the portion size of the jackfruit crabless cake sandwich to be a miss. While I am sure it was IG worthy, I had a hard time trying to consume the sandwich without it falling apart on me. It is best to deconstruct it layer by layer to ensure it can be ingested neatly. It was delicious upon ingesting it that way, because I was able to truly enjoy the star of this sandwich, which is of course the jackfruit crabless cake. It was moist and perfectly seasoned. I would have never known that if I ate the sandwich as it was originally brought out to me. Final note to add about my crabless cake was that it was also completely overshadowed by the huge dry sunflower seed bun. At the end, I just did not bother consuming the bun at all because of it's dryness. My husband ate his salad bowl but felt his bowl was nothing special. His bowl mostly consisted of spinach and regular everyday toppings. No nuts of any sort for added healthy fat and he was annoyed at the fact they ran out of tofu by noon. The sweet potato was a great addition in this bowl, though. The true standout for his lunch was the Fiesta Quinoa Chili in which he enjoyed the most. It is packed with protein and fiber from the beans and quinoa and a good amount of buttery smooth avocado for fat. His chili had the perfect amount of spices along with the cilantro for a little heat. After we gave the dishes back to the front, the young lady who had prepared my cafe mocha and our lunches asked how everything was. I explained I had ordered the cafe mocha but upon finishing it, my suspicion was confirmed and it was hot cocoa. She realized the error and quickly stated she will make it right and prepare cafe mocha to go at no extra charge. That was very fair and sweet of her and this time, the beverage was perfect upon first sip. Mistakes and disappointment when expectations are not met, happens. That said, we still believe it is a great place for clean food at fair prices. The services are just a tad slow because there is only one cashier and one person that day we went who prepares all the food. The staff are very friendly and they do try to ensure the cleanliness throuhout the establishment. We will be back and try other things on their Fall or Winter menu. It's really a 3.5 stars but the staff was very good so we bumped it to 4 stars. More...
Thank goodness for this place! Amazing pastries and the vegan options are delicious!
Excellent service, delicious food, trendy yet comfortable setting. Give it a try! And treat yourself to a Loco For Cocoa shake for dessert.
I work nearby and have been searching for a place with healthier options for lunch takeout. I stumbled upon Properly Fueled a couple of weeks ago when doing a search and absolutely love their food! My coworkers and I have ordered from here twice now and will definitely continue to come back. The seasonal tartine has been a huge hit with our group! More...
Love this place along with the food & atmosphere!! A must go! Especially if you’re a vegan/vegetarian
Great healthy styled food and coffee with well appointed coffee bar. Small, casual but nice seating area with window wall bar seating and outdoor seating in a quaint town.
Yeah. Been here a few times. Yeah. They do it right. Yeah. So many options. Yeah. Healthy af yeah. And you can't stop them. If you try I'll be there
interesting food combinations and locally sourced ingredients
Great sandwiches, breakfast, smoothies. The cold brew is kick @$$!! All they need to do is get an espresso machine, and lower the prices on the pastries and I’d never leave this place.
Super cute style restaurant. So many delicious healthy items. From farm to table style. I am gluten free and I have always loved my food and never had a problem getting sick or anything. I've gotten the quinoa chili, eggs scramble, avocado toast, gotta be Gouda sandwich and the funky monkey toast along with many special items they have for seasonal and Mother's Day. All delicious and love the vibes of this place. Always a frequent customer that recommends to other. More...
Great, fresh food! When I'm in the Bordentown area this is one of my favorite spots to checkout! Their smoothies are delicious, but my go-to is the Bro's Cheat Day, give it a try - you'll thank me later.
I recently tried this place for the first time and I wasn’t disappointed! I love that there is a place you can go that has healthy options!
Clean, fresh, healthy food.
Really great little place right off the main drag in Bordentown
Love that they have vegan options
This quaint little restaurant has delicious food that is reasonably priced and good for you too! If you've never been to Bordentown City you must come visit its charming main drag and beautiful Bordentown Beach all within walking distance!
WowNever thoroughly enjoyed such healthy food like this before Would recommend to anyone

Nice, quiet atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, and excellent coffee!
Good places desire good reviews. My wife and I came here and had a great lunch. The front doors open up to the sidewalk and creates a nice airflow. The Chickpea burger and the Elixir were fantastic. Definitely recommend. More...

Very good nice menu and very accommodating to individual needs.
Love this cute little place. The wifi never seems to be working when I go and the older lady was not nice about helping me during a business meeting about it. I get the feeling she wasnt trying to be rude, but that she just comes off this way based on her communication style. Staff training on communication could get this place 5 stars. Delicous food and cold brew! More...
Great healthy menu. Very friendly staff. First time here and I loved it. I got the green goddess with added salmon. Very delicious!

Amazing we just moved into town and are so happy to have such amazing options! What a great place !!!
One of our favorite places in Bordentown, love the Baja Fresco bowl with grilled tofu and eat more hummus sandwich on signature sourdough ... hip joint with a cool vibe
My wife and myself stopped into Properly Fueled after picking up up my guitar from Bordentown Guitar Rescue. I thought the space was really pleasant, clean and the on this Saturday afternoon, filled with light. It is a bit trendy and heathy, but that is all good.We had the mushroom soup and at $7.00 for a medium size, it was easily enough for the two of us to share. The substitution of coconut milk really gave the soup and interesting taste. We both really liked this soup. We also ordered the Gotta Love Gouda sandwich on whole wheat bread. This sandwich was just OK for us. The bread being whole wheat and not toasted was very dry. We solved that problem by tearing off chunks and dipping it into the soup. That was actually really good. We also ordered some type of seasonal elixir that with cranberry and lime that went well with the other items we chose. The staff at the counter were helpful and friendly. There is a fair amount of seating. We will definitely be back to try some Properly Fueled again. More...
I love the food here. It's nice inside. Very clean looking. The staff are super nice. The only downside is it takes awhile. Even if you are told 20 minutes, more times than not your order will not be ready in the time given. But I can't get mad at that. They are just way too nice to be upset with. I understand that food like this does take time, and the food is excellent. There hasn't been one thing here I haven't loved. And I appreciate that they support local business. More...

Healthy yummy food options.
Stopped in one day to see how this place was. I got the fresh mini cookies and a coffee. Loved the decor and hope this place does well as there aren't many like it in this area. Little pricey though.
Food is amazing, very creative with healthy ingredients, family owned and great atmosphere! A pleasure every time I go there!
Rather pleasant staff!
5 Stars hands down! Beautiful place that compliments their amazing food! I definitely found a new favorite spot!!
Delicious food and great drinks! It’s nice to know you are eating something so good that’s healthy
We went for the Valentine's day pop-up dinner and it was really nice. Really thought the interior design had a very rustic vibe to it. I really loved the lightbulbs, had a retro look to them. Actually the inside had that retro look which I love. The 3 course meal was very good and we're looking forward to coming back on a regular day to try more of their stuff out. More...
The food and atmosphere of this place is the best in the area. A great place to go for a nice breakfast or lunch. The prices are fair for the quality you get. The only thing is I wish they had some espresso drinks! The decor is awesome, friendly staff, and attention to detail. I visit here maybe once a week, not to be cheesy but this place sparks joy! Absolutely delicious health food! I got the Fiona's favorite smoothie and the "Gotta Love Gouda" sandwich, served on a cutting board tray. Both were simply amazing. Perfect ratio of every carefully-sourced ingredient in both items. The place was also very chic, modern, and clean. I see my primary care physician regularly in the Bordentown area and I will be back to try more of their food. There aren't a lot of times that the food, environment, and service is so good that I award a cool 5 stars (seriously, there aren't many places that have earned 5 stars in my book), especially within minutes of eating, but this is one of them. You've GOT to try their food!Perhaps the only "bad" thing was that the sandwich and smoothie came out to $17.60. A bit pricey for a sandwich and drink, but I guess you have to remember that this isn't your local McDonald's and that the ingredients are much higher quality than those you can find in a $9 Bic Mac meal. Plus, it's a lot healthier than 90% of your local options of pizza, burgers, and fast food. This place is among the last of what I hope isn't a dying breed - a place that serves food with customers' health actively not just in mind, but at the forefront of their mission. Also, the parking is street parking, which I absolutely hate. I'm exceptionally happy that there weren't a whole lot of people when I got there. I was able to find one parking spot nearby. Lack of adequate parking often deters me from trying many new food spots. I literally came here after wanting to try a crepe place in Princeton but finding that the street parking was paid parking for 2 hours at a time. I wasn't willing to try to squeeze into the few open spots that weren't even close to the restaurant and pay for parking, too. So I guess I would've missed out on this great place if I focused too much on the limited parking. More...

Yes, yes, yes what else can I say amazing
It's pretty darn good. The menu is nice with lots of healthy options. This is not the place you go to if you like the Denny's grand slam breakfast. Nothing wrong with that but the food here is on the healthier side with artisanal items. Of course there is a premium for the food and the prices run on the high side but still the food I've had here is very tasty and your stomach will thank you. The service is very good and the food is made fresh and to order. Lots of nice walking around the area and a beautiful park on the river not far away. More...

I have to admit. The first time I went the atmosphere was off putting. It felt as though I didn't belong. So I didn't go for several months. The workers were always kind but the clientele/customers kind of made me wary but the salad was amazing. So I have since gone back twice now and have yet to be disappointed. Atmosphere OR food wise. It's a kind of eclectic place. Right up my alley More...

Waited waaaaay too long to check this place out. Just stopped in today for a quick bite but the place does not disappoint. Had the breakfast buzz and it was scrumptious. Great food, really cute place. Had the Green Goddess salad and a side of the sweet potato salad. Delicious. (Had enough to take home for a second meal.) This review is just for the Loco for Cocoa smoothie.Wow this smoothie is the bomb. I'd come back here just for this smoothie. I'll come back and try other smoothies but this smoothie was instantly my favorite on first sip. There is this combination of Cocoa, peanut butter, almond milk, and banana flavors that meld together and is just sweet enough to bring out all the flavors. No one particular flavor is dominant and perfectly blended with no glob of cocoa or peanut butter. It's also a good size and not too bad at $5-$6 for a cup. Everything on the menu at Properly Fueled is instantly much healthier than anything I've eaten in a while so it's nice to know I'm doing something good for my health. I'll be back to try other items for sure but I'll definitely be thinking about this smoothie until I get back. More...

I love properly fueled!! As a dairy free person... meal time can sometimes cause me anxiety with trying to find places that can flex to my dietary restrictions. I have lots of options at properly fueled when it comes to their menu - and they're all super delicious!! Some of my favorites: their breakfast toasts, hummus sandwich (I lick the hummus out of the container, it's that good), mushroom soup (WOW - i didn't even know I could like mushrooms that much), pumpkin bread (sooo moist - wishing I bought multiple slices), also a big fan of their seasonal specials... and I'm sure I'll try many many more things!! Highly recommend if you're in the Bordentown area! More...

Always healthy delicious fare!
Great tuna sandwich and peanut butter chocolate smoothie. Atmosphere is very warm and inviting.
I gave properly fueled another try with a group of people, and it was more enjoyable this time. While the bowls seemed a bit smaller in size, the execution was a bit better. Maybe because the owner was in the kitchen.I still think the flavor combinations and proportions need to be perfected, but overall the experience was positive.I had the hipster bowl with the vegan caesar dressing (its menu dressing isn't vegan) - the caesar was different from the last time I tried it. Instead of lacking in acid, it was overwhelmingly mustardy to the point that my dining companions thinking it was mustard sauce. The bowl had way too many marinated pumpkin seeds and the quinoa at the bottom had a sweetness which was odd. I didn't really like the bowl. I still haven't found one I unequivocally enjoy, which is a shame because I would eat here more often. However, the buffalo jackfruit sandwich was very good and I'm not a fan of jackfruit as a meat substitute - I just love everything buffalo so had to try it. Otherwise, the hummus was still great. My dining companions enjoyed their sandwiches. I think for $10 the eggs should at least come with a side of toast. There were mixed opinions about the sweet potato salad - I didn't try it as I detest coconut bacon and don't care for sweet starches in savory foods. It just occurred to me that I'd like to see a custom bowl option on the menu, like pick 4 vegetables, a grain, a protein and a dressing for $14, something like that. More...

I love this place, the hipster bowl is amazing, and I dream about the pickled carrots. I also love the tartines, sweet and savory, and the smoothies and the overnight oats. I will say this...It took awhile but the food was freshly made. It is a very cute little place BUT I am not sure I'll be returning. The young woman behind the register was sweet. My girlfriend and I went in on our lunch break and we INSTANTLY felt almost uncomfortable. We are both African American professional women and were dressed as such. We are both into the vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian lifestyle so visiting places like this are not new to us. It was just an awkward and uncomfortable situation and I won't be returning. There was ZERO diversity in the restaurant. And it was a bad vibe... More...
I told Google today that "I want to eat health food near me" at work and I'm delighted that she (yes, Google is a she... didn't you know?!) introduced me to Properly Fueled in Bordentown, just a short drive from where my office in Trenton. I decided to go a little early assuming there may be a lunch crowd and was pleased to find I was the only patron there when I arrived. This didn't last long as while I waited for my to-go order, about 5 more parties came in to pick up their called ahead orders and one came in for a sit down meal. This was at about 11:30 am. The decor inside was beautiful and if I were to have guessed, I'd have said that they are a brand new establishment with how everything looked so fresh and clean, but with the "Community Board" packed with business cards, flyers, etc., I actually ponder that they've been open longer than I suspected to have been able to gather such a collection. While I waited for my order to be ready, I took in all the details and atmosphere... brass salt and pepper shakers, modern metal farmhouse chairs, fresh cut flowers, the large list on the wall of partners in Jersey they locally source their food from. I'm a sucker for a good vibe and this place has it!As I normally do when I find a new place I'm excited about, I over ordered. When I got back to my office, I enjoyed the Baja Fresco bowl, but only used about 1/4 of the dressing they provided with it because it was a little spicy for me. A little went a long way. I also enjoyed their Chocolate Chai muffin with a cup of coffee (brewed in my office, not from them) and it was delicious. My full order also included a medium Wild Mushroom Bisque and Smokey Sweet Potato Salad that I'll bring home for dinner, but both look and SMELL divine. The service from behind the counter was sweet and welcoming and completely cool and understanding when I accidentally ordered and paid for the wrong bowl. Correcting it was a breeze and she didn't seem bothered at all. I will absolutely be adding this to my list of local favorites!Update: I tried the Mushroom Bisque and it is hands down one of the best things I've tasted in a long time. 10 out of 10 on this one! A little slice of Brooklyn in my quaint little town with prices to match. The food hasn't been a home run every time, sometimes overseasoned (smoky tofu) and sometimes underseasoned (the seasonal mascarpone and blood orange tartine), but as they've got their sea legs under them I have been very impressed with their innovative offerings and baked goods. Their gluten free cupcakes that I special ordered for a baby shower were some of the most delicious, gluten free or not. Most important, I love the vibe of this place. Not only is it beautiful (and trendy), people are so so so pleased to be here, which definitely gives it a nice energy. More...
Wonderfully fresh, beautiful surroundings and pleasant people. All wrapped up in such a quaint little town. So nice to breath fresh air and relax. We need more places like this !

It was so big that I wrapped half up and ate it for dinner later. I also got a side of the hummus and veggies. The veggies were fresh and crisp. My only compliant would be that I needed more veggies for the amount of hummus provided. The vibe is semi-hipster but very cool and cozy. The large windows make the room bright and airy even on the cloudy day I was there. 10/10 would come back! More...

What an awesome restaurant right in the heart of Bordentown. When it comes to healthy eating, Properly Fueled really hits the mark! And it is tasty, too! I'm always impressed with the smoothies and the oatmeal is unique and delicious. The store front opens up in warm weather, which is just cool! Definitely recommended for eating in it takeout. More...
Absolutely awesome establishment ❤ clean, healthy, fabulous food, and outstanding energy. I wish i lived closer!!
I ordered the large veggie soup and it was served in a bowl that was bigger than my head. Pardon my manners but I barely used a spoon. I was very pleased with the vegan options as there are not many good ones near me. Also great to see that they like to keep things local. Will be back soon! More...
A bit pricey, but everything is amazing and made to order. Definitely Instagram worthy food
Super cute place, great food and drink selection, also super cute decor inside. I highly recommend the Breakfast Buzz, I get one every single time I go!
Nice healthy choice
Great healthy delicious food
We absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and we love the selection. Everything is seasonal, fresh, and flavorful. We wish they were open later and offered dinner options because we would order from them so much more on busy nights. It's a must try if you're in the area. More...
Fantastic, healthy, fresh
Fresh and delicious
Creative combinations of ingredients!
Good food. Has gluten free choices
Ate breakfast here recently after wanting to try this place for awhile and was so happy I stopped in! I had the overnight oats and avocado smash and both were very good. Lots of vegan offerings which is great because there aren’t many places in this area that have anything vegan (without modifying your order at least). Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. A little pricey but worth it, at least from the experience I had today. More...

I had the scrambled tofu and a green smoothie and both were very good.
As someone who is very health-conscious, I was so happy me & my mother found this place not only is the food amazing but the employees are so kind & thoughtful to customers. Highly reccomend the Baja Fresca salad or Bros Cheat Day sandwich w/ a Clean Green Shake ! More...
Creative and delicious options that are not only health conscious but unique.
The food is always excellent. Very vegetarian/vegan friendly.
Hipsters! Get your butts in here. Amazing creative bowls and super healthy recipes. Great ambiance and fast internet.
super cute spot- lots of healthy options for vegan/vegetarian
If you want to eat healthily then this is your place
Quaint, friendly atmosphere. Great menu options from local farms. I’ll be back for sure!
Great food, great service, loved the decor!
The only way this place could be any better is if ALL the food they served was vegan. Their smoothies are amazing, love the coconut bacon, the oatmeal is to die for! Their salad are on point, and the vegan burgers are great too! Love that they have seasonal menus. More...
Yelp road trip! I noticed a few of my trusted yelpers giving this spot some lofty five star reviews and knew I had to stop by. First, the layout is tres cool. The windows were wide open with cushioned benches outside. People enjoying coffee pretty much everywhere. (They brew Small World ) I had the egg scramble for breakfast which includes any four ingredients of your choice. Overall the flavor was rich and the Ingredients, while simple, tasted fancy. I definitely want to try the lunch fare. As a former resident of Bordentown, it's nice to see another local gem come to town. More...
This place really has been a highlight to Bordentown, unique, bright and always ever changing with their menu to keep it fresh to the palate. In the nicer months they open up the space and you can sit in our out or in between and enjoy the amazing weather. Their elixirs are always so good, I have taken out, eaten in and shared this place with many friends. They nor I have never been disappointed with the service, the food or anything else! Truly a gem if you like local, fresh and fun faire. More...
The food is great and the atmosphere is cozy. I had the spring bowl which was delicious and had very fresh ingredients.
this is a great place for good food, smells so good when you first walk in, friendly staff, and cute place, will defiantly go back :)
Thank goodness for places like this for us celiac sufferers. Great healthy food in an amazing space. Will definitely be going back. Oh and the staff was super nice.
Delicious!!! Will 100% return, a great alternative to chain restaurants. The tuna salad was delightful, especially as someone who normally isn't too thrilled with it. I will not only return but I will highly recommend to friends. More...
This is a great hidden gem! This place is amazing! I went here for lunch with a friend and we both loved it! It's a cute little place with modern, clean but hipster vibes to it. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. There's some booth seats, bar stool type and bigger tables for groups. Their menu has vegan, gluten free and paleo options. I got one of the specials of the month which was a veggie wrap and Fiona's favorite shake(which was raspberries, pineapple, banana and orange juice&stevia). The wrap was delicious and very tasty. I finished it all! My friend ordered the Baja fresco bowl and she loved it. It was huge, definitely getting your money's worth. All the food was tasty and fresh. They also have a breakfast menu available. I am so glad I found a place that uses local fresh ingredients for healthy and delicious food! This place is a must go to! I can't wait to go back again soon! More...
New spring sandwich is amazing! Staff is always friendly and polite. I try to treat myself here once a week and at least I known I'm getting a really well thought out meal.
I heard of this place from word of mouth from a friend. I did not know what to expect but I knew I didn't want Italian and that seemed like the only other option for lunch. This was PERFECT. The atmosphere is kitchy and clean, very modern. I felt like the coolest hipster ever ordering a small world coffee cold brew. I also ordered the green goddess salad bowl and it was huge. I took it home for dinner. Everything is made fresh to order so you can take off something if you don't like it. I can't wait to make this my regular place. This area needed a healthy fun food alternative that also includes so many community events on their walls! More...
It's hipster. It's trendy. It's "farm to table." It features health-conscious cuisine. It's spanking clean and starkly attractive with white tile and vegetable crate decor charmingly arranged.I stopped in last week, merely to catch coffee and a sweet prior to a program at the local library, with a little time to kill. (The original intention was to visit the Cake Box around the corner - but it was closed. The parking spot I managed to snag was serendipitously in front of Properly Fueled... They featured coffee... It seemed like a happy substitution. It was!)The gluten-free chocolate coconut brownie was exquisite. Topped with an optional drizzle of caramel, it was dense and rich, and gooey enough not to drip, but to require a fork.Small World roastery coffee is served in a french press (my favorite method of preparing java). Can't get any fresher than that. The temperature seemed a little low [prescribed water temperature for a french press is 195-200]...but the resulting brew was just fine.I look forward to sampling other parts of the interesting menu on a future visit to Bordentown. What an amazing place for Bordentown! High quality healthy food for an affordable place. The devil is the details at this place. Everything seems to be environmental and or recycle friendly. The order process is simple due it's fast casual dining style. Order at the cashier counter, drop your name, and find a seat. My friend and I had a brunch time meal. She ordered the Baka fresco salad with salmon and I ordered the turkey Gouda wrap. My eyes nearly popped out of head when her salad came out. It was enough salad for 3 people. My wrap was also fairly large, i only ate about half before I had to unbutton my pants. Before you go, don't forget to get the brownie and hiking cookie. Brownies are driven here. No guilt since it is vegan and gluten free. Not a huge fan of the s'mores but still tasty. I would of preferred it to be softer. Great restaurant that is helping drive a healthy community mindset forward. More...
Beautiful interior, healthy and amazing tasting food, tons of vegan options (that are actually interesting and substantial, rather than just salads). I love this place! The portion sizes and prices are just right, way better than a lot of more pretentious "health food" places in New Jersey. I can never decide what to get when I come here because it's all so consistently amazing. No alcohol here but you can bring a bottle of wine and they'll provide glasses. So glad I'm not limited to pizza or bar food anymore when I don't feel like cooking! Just wish they were open on Sundays :p More...
Wow! Awesome experience and guilt-free food. The restaurant is very modern and clean. The food is very good. (Baja Bowl in picture) The staff was very friendly and since it was our first time ordering, gave us very detailed descriptions of the food. The food was great and very healthy , however a little on the price side. (About $45 for two people) Would recommend eating here if you are looking for a healthy meal. More...
Great place to grab a bite that is not a fast food. The mushroom soup is highly recommended. I can't believe it was vegan. It is crazy pricey though.
My new favorite spot in Bordentown. So happy to see a place where they cater to healthy eating. It's a great spot to sit, relax and enjoy lunch. They have a great selection on the menu and the space is beautifully designed. I love that they partner with local farms and bakeries. I'll be spending a lot of time here. More...
I absolutely love it here. From the sweet potato side dish with coconut bacon, veggie bowls, sandwiches and to the brownies. The service was warm with a smile and open to any questions/accommodations. If youre vegan, gluten-free, meat-eater or just hungry PF has got your plate. More...
This place is amazing. I cannot wait to order more from here!We ordered lunch here for the office one day (this was a very exciting day!), and it couldn't be more seamless. We had 8 people ordering a variety of things, and with their online ordering form - it was super easy. For each item you select, there's a "special request" box, which we included the name of the person ordering that item - and they labeled our food! It was so great! ...It's the little things in life.I ordered the Green Goddess Bowl (salad?). It was served cold, and the dressing came on the side. It was completely delicious; field greens, roasted broccoli, grilled zucchini, edamame, avocado, green beans, microgreens, and green goddess dressing. The dressing was awesome, super fresh tasting and just the right amount of zing. I did opt to add local chicken breast for an additional $4. This bowl itself (without the chicken) is actually vegan, gluten free, and paleo - delish! I did try the Chipotle Lime Ranch dressing that someone else ordered, that was absolutely delicious too!The menu is so vast, I cannot wait to try more of it! Perhaps my favorite thing was the Coconut Fudge brownie that I split with a coworker. It was indescribably scrumptious. Smooth and gooey, rich and chocolatey, mouth-watering, and literally made me exclaim aloud with glee when I took the first bite. Oh, and someway, somehow, it's vegan aND gluten free. It straight up knocked my socks off !. (Oh, and I want the recipe so badly!)A coworker picked it up for us, so I didn't see the inside - but evidently that is super adorable as well! Their packaging makes you feel good as well, seems like it's all recyclable! My new local favorite, to say the least. I cannot wait to go back!! More...
I can't believe how fabulous this place is! Like a cross between NYC and Europe. The look of the restaurant is so cool and the design is gorgeous. And the menu! I'm having avocado toast and a coffee for breakfast but I'm eager to come back for one of those bowls! More...
Local, fresh, and Veg friendly! Downtown Bordentown never disappoints me, and Properly Fueled is no exception. The staff is always courteous, and the food is always delicious. My husband is a meat-eater, and this is one of the few places we can go where both of us will be satisfied. Seasonal offerings make the menu interesting; there is always a special of some kind on the blackboard. I'm very happy that this establishment opened! We've returned a few times, and we will go back! Casual, small place. Good for singles, couples, or small parties. More...
Very nice cafe.. feels like a place you might find somewhere in Brooklyn. We tried the vegan cranberry muffins and brownies. I really loved the muffins. Service was quick. The cafe itself has a modern industrial feel and you feel like staying a while. More...
A nice little cozy spot in Bordentown, it was great to discover this hipster & healthy spot off the main shopping district Farnsworth Ave. You would never expect a this nice cafe like this. A cute cafe which shows potential growth in the neighborhood, I believe it's a BYOB, make sure you check out the season specials, they take cash or credit and parking was not hard to find during the weekend, seems like a great spot for families and groups, great staff would go back, have to try their liquid fuels and offer gluten-free items on the menu which is rare to find in the area. This place is exactly what their name claims. You feel great after eating, and feel AWESOME while eating because it all tastes so wonderful. One of my favorite places.
Finally tried this place. Very cute atmosphere, went when it was beautiful outside so got to sit by the window opening. My husband got the bro's cheat day, he said it was good, but he jalapeño jam was more sweet than spicy. I got the avocado smash and loco for cocoa shake. I could only have half of the avocado smash, pretty big piece. Never can get tired of avocado toast, it was very good here (on sourdough bread). The loco for cocoa shake was very delicious, I wish I had seen the "kid size" earlier because it was on the heavier side and I was unable to finish the whole thing. The great thing about this are all the healthy options! Although I love downtown bordentown restaurants, it's nice to have healthy options. I will def go back and try all the shakes they have! Local. Clean eats.
Staff is great, food is awesome and nice atmosphere!!! Highly recommend Properly Fueled for healthy, good, fast food!
Delicious, healthy, locally grown food on the go! Great people and a beautiful atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
I'd give 6 stars if I could! This place is delicious!!! The chicken golden salad sandwich was terrific, as was the loco for cocoa shake! You can even get any adjustment next door afterwards if you so wish! More...
Excellent menu with several options
I have yet to find anything on the menu that I don't love! I need to get there for breakfast now! Never mind, you can have anything on the menu anytime! Try the frittata! Amazing!
The food is fresh and taste great! Outdoor seating is available. The facility is always clean. A+
Finally! I've been waiting for years for a place like this to come along in Bordentown. The Baja Fresco bowl is delicious - enough good stuff to split it into two, get some extra greens (I used Kale) and make two meals out of it. The reasons it doesn't get 5 stars so far: (a) the first sandwich I had (turkey) was a little bland - the ingredients were fresh, but I think the turkey needs a little flavor since it's a huge part of the sandwich (which is good); (b) they are not open on Sundays, which is HUGE disappointment. This town really needs a good coffee/healthy place open on BOTH weekend days and I think this little cafe would make a KILLING on Sundays. Maybe they will reconsider :). In either case, I hope it thrives! More...
Bordentown needed a great place like this! Food and staff ver amazing
Great food, even my 18 month old son loves it.
Good healthy, fresh, locally sourced food. Innovative menu and everything is delicious. Dining area is small and can be crowded at times, but outdoor seating also available. Pet friendly outside.
Simple modern style compliments the wholesome menu offerings. The comfortable and clean dining area is rustic with a touch of elegance. Fresh flowers adorn repurposed tables in a cosy atmosphere. Food was fresh and natural (mostly farm to table). It feels good eating here (inside and out). More...
The food is amazing and the atmosphere is warm
BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN! Bro's cheat day sandwich was delish - hearty, fresh, and really great bacon. Also tried a Thai noodle bowl - equally tasty, fresh, balanced. Feeling properly fueled!
Can be a bit expensive but the food is really good
Looove this place! It was my first visit but it won't be my last. Food was excellent, people were friendly! My co-worker took me here and he raves about the cold brew!
What a beautiful space and delicious food! My husband and I came because we heard they had a lot of vegan options, we were not disappointed. The BahnMi was delicious and my husband loved the portion size for his salad. The 4/5 stars comes in with regards to a couple of minor issues like the newness of an employee and having to check with someone after every step of the ordering process and being "out" of certain things. On the whole I can't wait to go back, I look forward to seeing their menu grow and or change-- cause although there are several options on the menu- it's always nice to be able to try something different :) More...
Great local healthy food bar. Open air area and inside tables too. Food is fresh & delicious! Ingredients from local farms & bakeries. You have to try this place if you are trying to eat healthy! Cool vibe . Great owners! More...
Absolutely loved this little cafe. So much so that I made a second trip 2 days later. (Don't judge me) They have plenty of vegan options, fresh local ingredients, and healthy but not pretentious. Overall a laid back, cool little local spot to grab coffee and run or stay for soup, salad, sandwiches, smoothies, bowls and desserts. The prices are great and the staff is friendly. Quite the gem More...
Properly Fueled sits in the space of a former Japanese sushi house and although it has been beautifully renovated it still carries a quiet stillness in its light airiness that I found so comforting in the earlier incarnation. Whoever did the redesign must have felt it, too, because it remains fully present and even enhanced. Perhaps, this quality is given fuller expression now that it has been paired with wholesome natural locally sourced food. The internal effect is likely similar, as my breakfast of a tartine made of goat cheese, sliced figs and honey on toasted sourdough, was delicious in it's simplicity. Crunchy, creamy, juicy and sweet - healthy. Their coffee from Small World in Princeton was served in a french press. Ready to be plunged (pressed) within minutes into a large white cup. It was strong, a bit gritty at the end and a total wake up. Ownership works the kitchen and counter and are warm and gracious. They sure know what they are doing. Their fresh food combinations elegantly tease the senses. No table service, but it is a short walk to pick up the cutting board tray. You can feed me anytime. Can't get those figs out of my mind. Love how my 9 year old is eager to go back after our FIRST visit. Our first time having a rice noodle bowl for breakfast... so awesome that this place has set a healthy eating habit for LIFE. She loves the banana bread too - look forward to her requesting that instead of a wawa f'real Lol More...
This place is unreal! Fantastic, quality food that is reasonably priced especially for the large portions. (I got one of the bowls!) Properly Fueled definitely adds to Bordentown's charm. More...
This is one of the healthiest locations close by. Food is all local. I have gotten the gotta love gouda wrap, avocado toast, and the elixer drink. The food is delicious and camt wait to try more.However...The elixer was not for me I took one sip and had to throw it away because the taste was very interesting..never again! More...
My husband and I dined here this afternoon for lunch. We have heard plenty of hype about it around town, and deservingly so! We both got the Gouda sandwich his on sourdough mine in a wrap. Each sandwich was served on a mini cutting board made of marble and wood, totally adorable! The sandwiches themselves were amazing! And surprisingly filling, definitely not cheap on the turkey or the Gouda! We also shared a side of the potato salad which was made with sweet Potatoes and coconut bacon. The potato salad was not needed once we saw the size of the sandwiches however was a nice contrast between bites. Staff was very friendly and helpful since we were first time guest. The meal did cost a little more than we are used to paying for a week day lunch but it was totally worth it. We will definitely be returning! More...
Great new addition to Bordentown City. Healthy but good tasting foods, treats and shakes. Nice bar area that faces the street for people watching. Outdoor seating that's great for pet owners. Make sure you try the seasonal specials! More...
The restaurant is well decorated! The staff is friendly and full of information and suggestions! The option for tasty gluten free bread and desserts is a real plus for me! The strawberry jam I had was delicious! It wasn't too sweet. The smoothies are delicious along with everything we had on our first visit. I will definitely be returning! My 1 "complaint", when ordering the cashier offered adding protein to the shake but neglected to say there would be an additional charge. Granted it is on the menu but I would've appreciated if she had pointed it out. More...
Love this cute little cafe that recently opened in Bordentown! The city is notorious for having small restaurants to grab a quick soup, salad, or sandwich for lunch. This place is different than the usual and definitely caught my attention when I first spotted it. The inside has a modern aesthetic, with neutral colored decor, chalk board menus, and small flower vases at each table. There are longer tables for groups, booths and seats for two, and high top chairs with windows that open out to the street. You order at the registers and they call your name when it's ready, like a Panera style eatery. We waited a few minutes for soup and salad, but it was definitely worth it. I got the Mykonos bowl with faro, kale, cucumbers, kalamata olives, and feta. It was really fresh and a huge portion, so I had leftovers for the next day. I also got a side of the pickled veggies which had a ginger kick to them. On another visit I tried the Pad Thai, which was not what I expected. It was cold with a unique taste to it and I would not order this again. Next time I will stick to the salads!I am overall very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and quality of the food I have received here! More...

What a cute small town food stop! We just happened to stumble upon this place on Yelp on our way back from New York and thought we would give it a try. It's located in the Historic area of Bordentown, New Jersey. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was rustic and trendy. We ordered the frittata of the day (asparagus, red peppers, onions, mushrooms and topped with micro-greens), the grass-fed organic Greek yogurt, granola and berry parfait, the avocado toast with egg, and coffee. All of the food was amazing and fresh. My favorite had to be the avocado toast. Wow!The attention to detail in everything from the food to the decor was spectacular. The staff was so polite and cheerful. Highly recommend making this a food stop! More...
Properly Fueled consists of what you would expect to find in a metropolis between a hipster microbrewery & an axe throwing facility: locally sourced, organic food; rustic, industrial decor; & a vibe that is only matched by a handlebar mustache on a Friday afternoon in Prague. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Breakfast Buzz, which was a wonderful mixture of coffee, oats, banana, coconut cream, cocoa, stevia, and a splash of stevia. It was the perfect pick-us-up after a Friday night that consisted of re-runs of Baywatch and preparing for the upcoming holiday season, which is now only several months away. We also enjoyed a Hiker's cookie that could only be described as Heaven in our mouths. Fresh, light, and full of all of life's joys, we were stunned by its level of satisfaction for a nominal price. We sat at the coffee bar and enjoyed watching other Bordentown City residents enjoying their Saturday while we continued to argue over who was a more integral part of Baywatch, Pamela Anderson or David Hasseloff. I'm still with the Hass, but I can understand her concerns. Fortunately, there were no concerns in regards to Properly Fueled, which certainly fueled us for our day of 90s television arguing followed by more Baywatch. More...
