I've had a few design workshops with Magda and she is currently working on planning permission for my extension.

I've found Magda to be been very professional, very creative and responsive to my comments and questions. This is the first time I will be doing any work on the house. I'll be spending a lot of money and so I'm very nervous about the whole process. Magda has done a really good job of guiding me through the process, setting my mind at ease. I've felt comfortable working with her as she comes across as very competent.

We hired Magda to undertake a design consultation in March 2016. She was with us for a morning during which we discussed our ideas for the house, (a 1930s semi), ways to utilise the space efficiently, enlarge and update the bathroom and also possibly add a kitchen extension. Magda was very good at listening and working with our needs and came up with imaginative and creative design solutions. By the end of the morning we had clear drawings for three different options to consider, one of which we will undertake in the near future and another which we will probably go ahead with a couple of years down the line. Magda has been very good at maintaining contact but we've never felt under any pressure to act on her designs-this has been left to our discretion. She has been able to provide professional advice relating to costs, planning application process and other such considerations and recently provided contacts to enable us to engage a builder. We have worked with Magdalena numerous times before she worked with Pride Road Mersey South when we bought our house, which needed a lot of updating, and we were always grateful to have her on board. She re-designed the downstairs of our 1900s Victorian terrace to add a utility room with toilet in 3D and provided exact 2D plans for builders, electricians and plumbers. She also drew up numerous version of our new kitchen until we found the one we liked best. Then she helped us get the detailed final version right on the IKEA kitchen planner before we made our order. She then helped us come up with a new layout for our upstairs bathroom.
Magda is always full of useful ideas, flexible and particularly good at brainstorming and picking up whatever ball a client might throw in her court. She finds solutions quickly and with a can-do attitude, as well as maintaining handy contacts to the building industry. We can whole-heartedly recommend her. More...

Lisa was the Architect who designed the extension to our House. It's a 1930's semi with limited architectural features and had a small kitchen with no sunlight at the rear of the property. Lisa's imagination and enthusiasm was instrumental in opening our minds to what could be achieved and with her help we now have an amazing, light and airy family room at the back of the house, a kitchen in the middle of the house (which we were struggling to imagine, but now absolutely love), and a small but perfectly formed downstairs loo. My wife and I hired Lisa Raynes of Raynes Architecture to help us remodel our house and we're tremendously glad we did. We wanted to make substantial changes—walls were to move and chimneys to disappear, with something happening in every room of the four-bed house—and decided to look for professional advice after one of the builders we consulted looked at our own, hand-sketched plans and said "Erm. ..maybe you should think about getting an architect." We found Lisa via RIBA's directory and, over a series of meetings she got a feel for what we hoped the house might become and sketched out a series of imaginative plans that fit with both our hopes and our budget. She also helped us pick the materials: a job that would have taken us months of fretting and googling was pretty much finished in one agreeable late-afternoon meeting. Lisa and her team were cheerful, quick and inventive throughout the design phase of the project.

And it all turned out even better than we'd hoped. The house is brighter, more spacious-feeling and much easier to use and to keep clean—an especially important point since, as we discovered, it takes rather less time to conceive and give birth to a baby than it does to navigate a big remodelling job. Our son was born after Lisa had made the final drawings, but before the building work started and so he'll probably only remember the remodelled version of the house. We still think of it as our "new" house and even now, two and a half years after the last builder left, are delighted by small, lovely touches everywhere: the management of light and the many kinds of beautiful glass are perhaps our favourites.
