I can't recommend Jill and Molly enough. They took fantastic care and genuine interest over bringing back to life a vintage G plan chair of mine. Fantastic attention to detail on the shaping, execution and finish on the cushions. They have breathed new life into this beautiful chair and it will now last many more decades into the future. This is my second upholstery course with Jill and her daughter Molly and I am upholstering a traditional cane back chair. Jill is an extremely good teacher and instills confidence in every step . I personally travel a fair distance to join her weekend classes. It's definitely worth it as I feel I am learning skills that I will be able to take forward on to future projects. It's also a great place to meet other like minded people in a friendly environment. Would definitely recommend whatever skills level you are. More...

We have just had our Sofas rejuvenated by Jill from Pretty Sitting Upholstery. A great job and we now have two really comfortable Sofas.

I rarely, if ever, post reviews because I never read other people's. But under exceptional circumstances I will do, in order to recognise outstanding service. Jill and Molly and the entire team at Pretty Sitting have rejuvenated virtually every chair and sofa we possess, including dining room chairs. The upholstery work is beautifully finished and the window coverings - curtains and remote controlled blinds - are meticulously measured. Molly is a delightful "front of house", helpful and knowledgeable and infinitely flexible. I recommend Pretty Sitting without reservation. More...

I love the Pretty Sitting team. They are so creative. Jill offers great design ideas whilst ensuring that you make your own choices. Molly is fabulous in the shop suggesting fabrics and arranging everything I needed. I adore my reupholstered sofas, they are vastly better than when I bought them originally and thanks to cushions, curtains and their suggestions for my overall 'look' my rooms are coming together beautifully. Q&As

We start by arranging a 1-2 hour consultation in your home which includes ordering samples; creating a mood board or scrap book together and selecting styles, ideas and specific elements for the scheme.
The design process is a two-way process between client and consultant where we work together to create an individually tailored scheme with elements of old, new, eclectic, imaginative and hand made elements.
Pretty Sitting works with a number of associate craftspeople and trades working in the locality and our interiors service provides a way of commissioning all the elements you need for a successful and very unique interior scheme.

We can cater for most styles and tastes from country house traditional to modern and minimal. However, our signature strengths are in eclecticism and vintage styling using original mid century furniture alongside contemporary wallcoverings and accessories. We mix it up!

Jillian has experience of working alongside property developers to create unique and imaginative interior displays for residential developments, business centres, reception areas and entertainment zones. Her own style is quirky, colourful, retro, comfortable, hand made and completely individual. As an AMUSF fully qualified upholsterer Jillian offers technical support to Interior Designers and Stylists with the upholstery and soft furnishings elements of larger schemes and can produce a wide range of handcrafted furniture from her workshop in Somerset.

I love the variety and technical challenges! I also love working with other skilled craftspeople in creating wonderful products for clients. I love working with many different clients both residential and commercial and solving problems creatively. I love it when a scheme comes together and I can walk away with a happy customer and most likely a friend for life!

I wanted to step away from the "rat race" and start a business of my own. I love the independence and autonomy that it gives me. I used to spend my free time making curtains and cushions, painting furniture, making lampshades and sewing. I knew, that with additional training I could make a lovely business from these skills and passions. Now with a full diploma in Upholstery and Soft Furnishings from the AMUSF and five years of experience under my belt, I have launched a new Interiors Service to support private clients with their own schemes.

At Pretty Sitting we have the technical knowledge, industry contacts, skills and creativity to handle any project both large and small. However, what really matters when choosing someone to work with on an interiors project is the quality of the relationship between client and consultant. Jillian acts like an expert friend guiding the process from start to finish, not controlling it. The process should be fun and engaging for our clients.

Our fees are extremely affordable because we make commission on many of the products which are suggested from a range of quality suppliers. We can also offer discounts on our products as we don't have the overheads of other retailers with showrooms. Many of our products are only available to trade buyers and are not on the high street and we hand select our suppliers for their individuality and trade profile. This is a different way of working from other Interior Designers but if you choose to work with us you will know that the service you are receiving is bespoke for you.

Why not set up a meeting or phone call (free introduction) and see how we get along and I can explain what is involved?
