Made an appointment with Hang. Used yelp GPS and it took me to the opposite side of the building. But I eventually found it. Pretoria is located in their basement level. This place is gorgeous. Very warm and welcoming. Modern chic vibe.My hair was medium long. Previously colored. I was looking for shorter but not pixie cut. Showed Hang a few pics and told her to go for it. She proceeded to trim off some of my hair before wash. The was station was super cool and comfy. Washed, massaged and then ai was off to my cut.Went over the few pics. I assured her I was as ok going shorter. Lol. And then we were off. Slight trim, layering, shaping and then blow dried. As the blow drying was going on. The master stylish Hang is, she blow dried some curls into my hair. Which gave my fine, thinner hair a much more bouncy and fuller look.So in love with my cut. Feeling sassy already. New to the city and in desperate need of post baby TLC. Hang gave me a great haircut and I also got my eyebrows waxed by her. My eyebrows are not easy and she gave me a great arch with what I had. Did I mention my baby was fussing the entire time? Her and her staff were incredibly kind to us and one of them even strolled him around and made him laugh. Such a cute, clean and professional salon. First time at Pretoria Salon & Spa and it was the perfect experience! Not only was the staff genuinely friendly and accommodating, the service was excellent. My stylist Jessica is not only talented and skilled but also very professional. She cut the perfect layers for my super long hair. I started to describe how I wanted my haircut and she confirmed the effect I wanted. Turns out... I never really knew what "long layers" were! What I actually wanted was a more rounded haircut with dramatic layers! And Jessica cut my hair to be exactly what I wanted! She was patient with me AND she finished cut + style (blowout) right on time! Usually, other places take longer than anticipated since my hair is so long and fussy / frizzy / thick... but Jessica made it work! AND on top of that, nothing was overdone or under expectations... from the timing / duration of the service, to the actual service itself. Jessica is hands down... one of the best hair stylists I've ever had! Kristina, another stylist was also very sweet and friendly. She helped me style my hair for a casual every day look! And Hau was soooo helpful when I called to book a reservation. I had to call him back 3 times to find the salon because I got lost but he gave such clear directions throughout. Overall, perfect first time experience and best part of all... definitely the staff / team! Conversations were genuine, sweet, and fun! The vibe / atmosphere was not stuffy or pretentious at all BUT you get the high quality service and experience of a 5-star! The only small CON was FINDING THE SALON! Pretoria is located in the South Tower of Park Towne Place on Benjamin Franklin Parkway... when you arrive, there are a few buildings here. The salon is located downstairs... I had to go through the lobby of the condo, find the stairs to head downstairs to this cute little marketplace area near the fitness center and pool. Hang and her team did an AMAZING job on our hair and makeup!  They went out of their ways to accommodate us on a busy Saturday.  Our hair and makeup stayed put for the whole event.  My bridal party and I received so many compliments. Btw, I'm glad I did  a trial in advance because we were able to make some adjustments to perfect my look.  It's a little extra but totally worth it if you can do trial on a date night or in my case for a friend's wedding.  Thanks again!!! I recently moved to Park Towne Place where this salon is located so I thought I'd try it out! The place itself is so beautiful and clean. Making an appointment was also extremely easy. I had an appointment with Jessica and she was fantastic. I hadn't had my hair cut in a while so I had her do a trim and shape up my layers and angles. I'm not usually too picky about my hair cuts, but she definitely did a great job of making sure the length and style was to my liking. Their prices are pretty reasonable and they also do nails which is a plus. I will have to make a nail appointment there in the near future. I will definitely be back!! :) More...

Pretoria is heaven sent! I have been either doing or fixing my own hair all my life. As an experienced cosmetologist myself, I had a hard time finding the "right" person to take care of my needs and fully execute. (Asian hair isn't always the easiest to deal with) I wasn't surprised at all when my hair came out fabulous and my visit was memorable. I had the pleasure of having the owner, Hang, giving me my makeover. She was just absolutely gorgeous and her personality matched 100%. Hao, the concierge, was extremely welcoming and just a delight all around. Jessica, a stylist there, was also very cute & welcoming. They made everything worth my drive, time & money. Now ThaT is hard to come by these days. Did I mention the salon was super cuuute! I learned that Hang designed everything herself! No wonder! She is just producing fabulosity on all levels! Note, I had 5 inches removed, toned out my outgrown color and had a full head of processing with blonde & ashy tones. I am writing this review after I've washed my hair twice after it was done. I do not feel the need whatsoever to go through and add or remove anything that was done. (Have to do this every time before with any other person I've let in my hair). Needless to say, my hair has gotten it's life back, yaaaaasss! I can't wait to be back for my next session. I am completely blown away with how amazing this place is. As a resident of Park Towne, I've walked by this place a hundred times, but decided to check it out one afternoon for a much needed mani pedi. I previously worked in hospitality and have gotten mani pedis all over, but this was truly the best I've ever gotten. I'm so happy I found this place! I came here for cut and color (balayage) when my regular hair stylist was out on maternity based on a recommendation from a friend. My friend's hair is completely different from mine, so I was a little apprehensive but the other reviews were good so I went with it.Right from the start they were extremely friendly and accommodating with scheduling. Hang took her time and did an amazing job with the cut and the color. I would recommend this salon to anyone. My friend goes to a different stylist here and is equally happy with her hair. Long hair, haircut with Jessica:Have you ever gotten a cut on your long hair and it's just awful- the bangs are shorter than you told them, the length of the hair seems a lot shorter too, it looks flat or too one sided. .. anyways, it happened to me and I didn't go for a haircut in 2 years.Parking & directions:They have some parking spots behind the building-amazing perk for being in the city! They're located in the south tower, when you go in, ask the receptionist where to find it. If she's not there: go straight and take a left at the dead end, go straight until you see stairs, go down stairs & then to the left.Prices/ Appmt:I messaged for a price through Yelp and the receptionist, Hau, answered really quickly with all the answers. I called him to finalize a time, and he was able to schedule me for next day!!  & he was really friendly, even over the phone. Won't lie, I was expecting rittenhouse prices but the prices are  actually very reasonable!Consultation:Jessica cut my hair and she was really friendly and a great listener. I probably asked her 50 questions, showed her pictures and gave her an entire history of haircuts because I was really nervous but she actually got it all. I went with a layered cut, not super v-shaped. Shampoo:The cut include a shampoo and blow dry styling. He products they used are from Europe I think and they smell so good! They made my hair really soft. Jessica was great at shampooing because she took her time and really made an effort not to wipe any makeup off from my forehead in the process! Cut:Took about an hour, they kept the area clean too either Hau or Jessica would keep sweeping the area. I loveeee my cut and she asked how I wanted it blow dried and suggested the way I showed her in one of the pictures. I was never able to get the exact haircut I envisioned when I would go to other barbers and salons for years. I really became scared of getting haircuts and would just let it go wild because I thought that would be better than constant bad or mediocre haircuts. Now after going to Pretoria, I don't trust any other place to cut my hair again. I was a bride from CA that was looking for a salon that does hair and makeup for my wedding in the Philly area.  After sending a few email inquiries to different salons, Pretoria was the only one that responded back.  Hang provided an online portfolio of her work and answered all the questions I had.  Bless her heart with the her patience to answer all my emails (LOL), but it made me feel comfortable in booking her from afar.  She and her team are really  nice and sweet in person too!  Living on the other-side of the coast, didn't give me an option of doing a trial run with them, but seeing her portfolio made me trust them.  To be honest I wasn't worried at all that my bridal party and my hair and makeup wasn't going to look good because Hang did a great job communicating with me through the whole process.  Our hair and make-up stayed on the whole day!  Impressive right?!?!  We went to the salon around 7-7:30am in the morning and all of our hair stayed on 'til the wedding was over (midnight).  I was also impress that they were able to get us (3 people) in and out under two hours!If you're looking for a chic and stylish salon, come here!  I love their modern set up and friendly environment that Pretoria provides.  I would recommend this place to friends and family in the area.  I will definitely stop by there next time when I'm in the area for their other services.  Oh yeah, their prices are very reasonable! After years of bouncing from one salon to another, I finally found the salon that can turn my hair dreams into reality, thanks to a close friend of mine that suggested I give Pretoria a try! I was super skeptical because the last hair salon whom I thought would be the "one" to get the color right turned my hair green & blue when I asked for ash blonde. They damaged my hair severely when I had to go back in to get the color removed out of my hair. I had hair breakage & I didn't know what to do to make it healthy again without having to cut most of it off. I shared my concerns with Jessica at Pretoria. She was real with me & told me exactly what I needed to do before I can color my hair again. After 2 hair treatments & a light haircut, my hair started feeling healthy again. After just 2 months, I was able to get my hair toned, since my hair color was getting too warm. Jessica made my hair healthy again & toned it down to the color I really liked. Hang, the owner, also doesn't disappoint. She glam'd me up to a smokey ash blonde during my most recent visit! Every salon before Pretoria could never obtain the color I want. Not only did Pretoria obtain the color I've been wanting, they made it healthy again. She's also been cutting my boyfriend's hair for the past few months now & he loves it.Both Hang & Jessica are wonderful hairstylists. I personally recommend them both!Based on my overall experiences, I can officially say, Pretoria is where it's at for all your beauty needs. They offer hair, nails, makeup services, & even massages! I am someone who prefers boutique salons. Pretoria does't disappoint. Outstandingly friendly reception. Highly talented and professional team. My nails are growing, and my hair is shiny. I appreciate that I feel listened to but also get good advice about cut, color and blow out. Worth the trip if you don't live in the building. I couldn't have been a luckier bride because Pretoria Salon & Spa opened the week before my October 14th wedding! The salon is absolutely beautiful with a bridal suite for us to get ready in private. I am pretty low-key when it comes to my hair and makeup, and I expressed my apprehension of looking overly done up on my big day. Hang did a great job on making me look pretty on my wedding day and post-wedding celebrations while keeping me comfortable with all the makeup I wasn't used to wearing. I received so many compliments on my hair and makeup and am excited to see the pictures! Hang and her staff made me feel like a princess in a castle! They bent over backwards for me, my friends, my family, my now husband, and the camera crew feel comfortable and at home while we were at Pretoria Salon.
