Had really bad tennis elbow. Chad is very thorough in his work and whenever you set an appointment he definitely does not waste any time. The money is well worth it for the service you get. If you set an hour appointment, he uses the full time and doesn’t slack in anything he does. Stand up guy! I am pain free! More...

I can't recommend Chad and Pr1me Movement enough! I came after several years of putting bandaids on issues and struggling with some nagging pains with my running that other people couldn't solve. He worked diligently and patiently with me to identify and problem solve the issues hurting my running and created a plan incorporating strength work and hands on soft tissue work to strengthen the weak spots. He will take the time with you in the office and out of it. You don't have to give up your sport, go see Dr Kuntz and get back to what you love to do! More...

I've been struggling with knee pain after running for over a year, while training to run marathons. I had been to see a couple other physical therapists but weren't effective at all. I tried fixing it myself, but as my training intensified it was getting worse and was affecting how much and how hard I could train. After searching online for someone who could help, I came across Chad and it seemed he followed a different strategy to other therapists. After seeing Chad for a month now, I'm able to train without pain and recovery is much quicker. We still have work to do to address my imbalance, and Chad has developed a strategy and goal to get us there. The big difference with Chad's approach is the time he takes to fully understand the root problem, and develop a strategy to address the root problem, instead of the resulting injury. We have specific goals we want to reach that are meaningful for me, and he measure progress against those goals, keeping me and him accountable. More...

After meeting with him and explaining what was going on he took a look at my knee and tried a few different stretches and got right to the point of the pain. Dr. Chad is as good as they come! He was referred to me as one of the best physical therapists in Charlotte and he’s exceeded expectations. Two of my family members had seen multiple doctors and therapists without much success until Dr. Chad. In the first instance, he identified a serious injury that every other doctor missed that led us to emergency surgery (eternally grateful for him…could have been very dangerous). In the second case, he again diagnosed the root cause of pain that no other doctor had been able to do and he was able to provide immediate relief in the first session and layout a gameplan of rehab exercises that led to progressive improvements very quickly. In addition to being exceptional at what he does, I love how much time he takes to listen and understand his patients. He’s also a great teacher as he is very thorough in explaining things in simple terms. I’m also amazed at how often he checks in shooting me a text to see how everything is going and if I have any questions. Overall, Dr. Chad is a great guy, super knowledgeable, very good at what he does and genuinely cares for his patients. More...

I visited Pr1me Movement to seek a solution to an ongoing shoulder pain (torn rotator cuff and osteoarthritis) that remained constant. I was highly impressed with the knowledge and professional courtesy displayed by the Dr Chad Kuntz. His empathetic demeanor during my initial evaluation allayed my fears about being mis-diagnosed. Chad was able to immediately detect the various issues going on in my shoulder muscles (along with those in my back which I was not even aware of). Chad always “cracked me up” when he referred to shoulder and back muscle issues as “warehouses” and “depots” with supply chains in between. His deep muscle maneuveres to my shoulders, dry needle procedures and another procedure that I refer to as “cupping” brought me some much needed relief. Chad patiently explained each process as we progressed through each therapy session, thereby keeping me informed all the way. A lovely bonus is Chad’s review of my regular exercise routine whereby he was able to detect and correct some errors that I make when exercising (which were unknowingly worsening my pain). His assistant (Anthony) is equally very pleasant and very helpful in providing me with other very helpful life/health suggestions to boost my recovery while also ensuring that videos of the various exercise routines from my sessions are sent to my email address for my personal use and review in between visits. I still cannot believe that I have not had to go to my orthopedic doctor for the usual six-month steroid injections to my shoulder since my therapy sessions started at Pr1me Movement. I have regained use of my shoulders without having to occasionally wince in pain. I am now even able to withstand pressure to the shoulders without paying a heavy price for it. The care and support provided at Pr1me Movement is awesome! Needless to say, visiting Pr1me Movement is one of the best decisions that I have ever made and I definitely intend to share this excellent experience with my colleagues at the office, friends and family as well. What brought you in to see Dr. Kuntz at Pr1me Movement and how did you decide that Pr1me Movement was worth trying? My father was the one who recommended Dr. Kuntz to me as I have been struggling with knee pain for the past 5 years. After the consultation with Dr. Kuntz and seeing how he was going to treat my knee, I was astounded as no PT or doctor had ever approached my problem like he was going to.What obstacles did you have to overcome in order to see Dr. Kuntz at Pr1me Movement? None, as scheduling with him was made easy. What body part and injury did you have assessed and worked on at Pr1me Movement? I had patellar inflammation that appeared on my MRI, and Dr. Kuntz worked not only on my patellar tendon, but also my quadriceps, calves, glutes, and IT band. Why did you choose Pr1me Movement? I chose Pr1me Movement because it was the only place that didn’t tell me that loosening my quadriceps would fully heal my knee or surgery was the only option. Dr. Kuntz gave me rehab exercises that I had never seen before that targeted and relived my knee pain more and more each day. As soon as I met Dr. Kuntz, I knew his unique approach was going to heal my knee. What was life like before you had come to see us? Before going to Pr1me Movement, I had not been able to workout legs or play basketball for over a year, the two things I enjoy doing the most. What can you do now that you had difficulty with before? I can now workout legs with no knee pain, including back squat, lunges, and goblet squats, things that greatly hurt my knee before my treatment. What would you say to someone who is on the fence about seeing Dr. Kuntz at Pr1me Movement? To someone who is on the fence about seeing Dr. Kuntz, I would tell them that you won't regret going into his office. Even before treatment, Dr. Kuntz asks many in depth questions to gain more understanding about your injury, which not only shows that he wants to be sure of what he is treating, but also that he cares for his patients. Another thing I loved is that Dr. Kuntz treats you for an hour and does not send you off to some “trainee” to stretch you out who doesn't know what they’re doing. Meeting Dr. Kuntz one time will be enough to know that he truly cares for his patients and wants to get them back to 110%. More...

Over the years I have tried different options for my neck and back pain. Some things helped temporarily but then the pain would always come back. He struck up a conversation with me and in parting let me know if I thought I could get better results from my workouts he would be happy to sit down with me and put together a workout routine. I took him up on it and decided to try his 10 week program. We set a modest goal of losing 10 pounds in 10 weeks. Seeing as I had already dropped 25 pounds on my own, and starting the program just before 2 of the biggest binge eating holidays of the year (Thanksgiving and Christmas) I felt it was a good target. Throughout the 10 weeks Chad would routinely check in with me to see how I was doing. If he saw me in the gym he would stop by to check in on my progress and offer encouragement where he could. I can't speak enough as to the level of professionalism Chad displayed. He took time to go over each exercise with me before hand, placing a high value on correct form and making sure I understood how to do it correctly. I was facing some extreme shoulder pain and limited mobility after years of weightlifting to the point I was no longer able to do most shoulder/chest exercises.  I reached out to Pr1me Movement despite living in Indiana because the advice I was getting from professionals in my area was not helping.  The online skype consultation I got was more informative than anything I had heard from the physicians I dealt with in person.  The stretches, and change in my movement patterns that were suggested altered the pain I felt within days.  I couldn't believe how dramatically and quickly things changed.  Chad understood my desire to not sit around and do nothing, and his advice allowed me to get back in the gym while at the same time not injuring myself further.  After about a month of incorporating the stretches and various warmup/recovery movements he suggested I felt almost 100%, and the pain I had gotten use to feeling daily was almost entirely gone.  Nearly 6 months later and I haven't felt this good in years, my strength has increased in the gym, and I still incorporate the stretching movements, and changes in my movement patterns and couldn't be happier.  It was really refreshing to work with a PT who listened to my goals, and not only addressed the current pain, but why I had gotten to that point, and gave me advice on how to stop the root of the problem and prevent further injury or pain.  I would highly recommend working with Pr1me Movement, and will definitely be a repeat patient if I have any other injuries/pain in the future. I was fortunate enough to work along side of Dr Kuntz for a couple of years when he and I worked at a busy out-patient PT clinic in Arizona. Each week I was impressed with how excellent of a clinician he was in helping his patients improve. Specifically, Chad was very skilled in finding the problematic part and provoking movements and equally skilled in correcting or solving the issue with simple, yet thorough, corrective and conditioning exercises. I was always impressed too with how dedicated he was to listening to his patients and building a great relationship with them. This was vital to their overall progress and evident in how loyal they'd be when they needed help with other painful problems as they'd come back at a later date specifically wanting to work with him. If I had a patient I was working with that I felt would benefit from working with Chad, I wouldn't hesitate to refer that person to him as I know they'd get the highest quality of care. More...

Chad is always able to adjust treatments each session to accommodate my needs. He seems to always be researching new techniques and applying them in his practice. I feel genuinely cared for and am confident in my recovery. I would recommend him, especially if you have had a bad experience with physical therapy elsewhere. One of a kind. More...

Chad’s credentials speak for itself - he truly is a specialist in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He is an outstanding communicator and is extremely enthusiastic about making a difference in your athletic performance and/or rehab. As a colleague, I seek advice from Chad often whether it’s related to P.T., fitness, golf, or general life style changes. He doesn’t quit and his level of perseverance is off the chart. There aren’t many around who work as hard as he does and he’s the type of person you want working for you. More...

Q&As

I think it is very important to listen to each and every individual. Everyone is slightly different with slightly different backgrounds, years of experience, and with different short term and long term goals. It is important to continue to make adjustments if the client doesn't see success and to push them to the point of working hard, and having fun at the same time.

Adherence to a regimented diet, great work ethic, great education, perseverance and time!

I love being able to provide premium quality of care to each and everyone of my patients or clients. Physical Therapy has become 'volumized' and is leaving the therapist to treat 2-3 people in an hour. This simply isn't acceptable and is a mockery to what Physical Therapists can truly achieve. I love being able to fill in the gap from rehabilitation to performance and I do so by offering my Strength and Conditioning Programs, as well as Personal and Semi-Private Personal Training.

The wantingness to provide the highest quality of care possible. I quickly realized it wasn't feasible to provide the level of personalized, premium care in the corporate world. I was willing to take a chance on my own to treat people the way they deserve to be treated.

With a doctorate of physical therapy as a foundation, I have gone through the rigors of extensive anatomical, kinesiological and physiological studies. I have further substantiated myself by becoming Board certified in Orthopedics and Sports, something a few thousand or even less of individuals have accomplished in the nation. I also am a Strength and Conditioning Specialist who has competed in 3 different bodybuilding shows and successfully placed each time. Lastly I've contributed 3 articles to the National Strength and Conditioning Association and have shown my keen interest in the golf community by becoming a Titleist Level I Sports Performance Trainer.
