Incredible atmosphere and location makes it a joy just to be present here. Outdoor and indoor seating are both great with plenty of spots to sit with any number of friends. The selection here and the overall concept of self pouring is both awesome and well executed. It's quick and easy to check with staff, get a wrist band, grab a glass, and start pouring. You pay per ounce so taking sips of many options is inexpensive and it's impossible to get too much of something you don't like. This makes it a great place for people new drinking or those looking to try something different. Really great bar, easily one of the best in Knoxville. More...

This bar was a lot of fun, the employee explained everything to us and we were then set free. There are a lot of choices but it was organized pretty well. You also get the option of cider and wine. There was live music inside and there is a nice patio outside. Smoking is allowed on the patio though. Very laid back, and gives you the option to try different beers. More...

I loved this place. I have never been anywhere like it. It's definitely a unique experience. I love that we only pay for the beer we pour. We got to try so many beers because we controlled how much we poured. I would definitely recommend trying Pour Taproom. We will be back! More...

Interesting place... my first visit. I'd heard of these "self serve" places, but was my time to experience one. Mostly a good experience... decent selection of beers, ciders, meads and even a few wines. The place got busier while I was there and I thought they could have used another person handling payments, etc... lines got a little long sometimes. I'll be back... More...

First time here on Saturday night. Like the "self serve" concept. They had 68 taps going... beer of many types, cider mead and even a few wines... I'll be back.

The owners of Jackson Terminal, Pour, and Post Modern must not care about their customers or others around them since they have recently started to tow vehicle from in front of their business THAT SELLS ALCOHOL. The owners are now encouraging driving under the influence and will soon have blood in their hands once one of their customers decides that it’s easier to get behind the wheel while intoxicated rather than pay a $75 tow bill. Shame on these businesses, this is not an ethical decision. More...

Adding to the chronicles of "The Riordan's need to get out more often", we stumbled upon this fantastic place which has apparently been open for about two years now. The concept is fun and so freeing...you are assigned a wristband with a chip in it, you peruse the drink offerings, decide what you'd like to try, flash your chip against the reader and then pour as much or as little as you like - you pay by the ounce.  We enjoyed beer during our visit, but they also offer wine on tap. WINE ON TAP PEOPLE. It's revolutionary! The furnishes are modest, but they are all they need to be. Plenty of outdoor seating at picnic tables, and a couple of dart boards for interior entertainment. We will be back! More...

4.5 would be more accurate. Helpful staff. Good atmosphere especially on the patio. Fun concept. Pricing is a little tricky your first time. Some high gravity gets close to 50 cents per ounce but really comes out to be less than a 5 dollar 10oz pour and under 5 dollar pint for 5ish abv. So not a bad deal. The only reason I'd like to deduct half a star is that they didn't really have any porters, reds, or pale ales which are pretty much my favorites. They do have some really good stouts and IPA though. Great patio on Jackson Ave. Simple concept: self-serve booze. Pretty okay execution. Minimal staff working, so it can be hard to find someone to set you up with an arm band or close your tab. Apparently even harder to keep all 60+ taps functioning - there were several "empty" or "out of service" taps last time I was there. Still, the motto of "a beer festival everyday" is accurate - nowhere else in Knox to taste this many different beers (and ciders and wines) without drinking a gallon and running up a huge tab. This place is sooo amazing, I went for the first time for my friend's 21st and came back a just couple days later with a date. Best selection by far of craft beers (pale ale, ambers, porter, stout, sours - everything!), ciders, and even meads - and all of it is serve yourself, pay by the ounce! My personal favorites are the Meridian Hive meade (tastes like birch beer) and the Sierra Nevada Otra Vez gose (must have for those who prefer sours/goses), but their selections are constantly changing so get it while it's there! Will definitely return anytime I'm in old city, and recommend to friends looking for a trendy (yet surprisingly affordable) bar experience. Be sure to try their kegged cocktails, too! More...

I love Pour! This is one of my favorite spots to enjoy a drink with friends. Their outside patio is spacious and perfect for a large group. They have a large array of games, if you enjoy drinking and playing games. They have had alive entertainment every time we have been on the weekends. I just discovered their Sunday mimosa bar, and I really enjoyed it. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They make sure everyone knows how to work the valves on your first time there. Pour is a favorite of ours! It's a great place to sample and enormous variety of beer (and kegged wines and ciders too). Pour has a respectable selection of local beer along with brews we don't see in town a lot ... Which I like. Each tap is clearly labeled with pricing per ounce so just pay attention and you won't be surprised that you drink a little more than you think you do. They have too many beers. It's just too many. There's no way you could try them all. You'll stand in front of the locals section, upset at yourself for your indecision. You'll feel cold (that's the air conditioning), then you'll try a new beer, love it, and then want to have more but you can't because there are so many more to try. You'll just have to go back. Loved this place, the concept of being able to pour for yourself just how much you want really works and was super fun. I was thankful it wasn't super busy as it wouldn't be as fun if you had to wait in line for the tap you wanted but it's a small place with a lot of taps so hopefully that won't ha own much. I loved that they had multiple ciders and they had wine too. I also liked it the tap for water as I e found the best way to avoid a hangover is to drink water along with my beers. Didn't try the food but what I saw looked good. Fairly small menu for food options though. I look forward to going back again soon. More...

I had heard about this company that was doing self serve taps that use an bracelet with a chip to open the tap a few years ago. Unfortunately none were in my area to check out. So when I saw a bar in Knoxville had the system, I said let's check it out. First the bar is in an old warehouse type building with a great brick exterior, exposed beams and high ceilings inside. There is plenty of seating outside for those beautiful days. The inside has tables but set up more to be social tables. So the first thing you need to do is go to the counter and check in. Tennessee has this crazy law where they have to check everyone's ID, even your grandmother's. That was fine because we needed our bracelets. Joy, I think that was her name, explained how it all worked. She even took us to the taps and explained it. The range of beers was great. They had wine on tap that you could get also. Everything is charged by the ounce. You could create you own flight as you went or filler up. Once you hit a total of 28 ounces, you had to go back to the desk to get them to unlock more. That is how they control someone not getting to smashed. The biggest piece to this is there is no waiting for the bartender or waitress getting you a beer, you are your own bartender. They do have food. We looked at the menu on line before heading down. It did not match complete when we got there. That was ok because they still had some great selections. I had the Mambo Italiano. It a few different meats on a rosemary focaccia bread and grilled with some Zacks Voodoo chips. For fun there were different boxes games to grab and play, an electronic dart board and great conversation. There was a calendar of different things going on different days. They also had a stage for live music on some nights. It was a great time and I will return. More...

Soft Drink Refill Speed: N/ABeer Refill Speed: VariableReally cool concept---allows you to sample tons of different varieties without having to commit to a whole pint (or feel like you're being difficult asking for a sample of more than one beer). It is true that it's not easy to tell how much you've spent, which is probably by design. But the prices are pretty reasonable, and the convenience of taking as much or as little as you want is worth something. The atmosphere was great: live music and a good crowd (even on a rainy night), but plenty of space to chill and play board games too.And the wristbands are a nice throwback to the good ol' days when I was allowed to like Lance Armstrong. Super fun concept! Its like a frozen yogurt joint...but for ALCOHOL!!! It's a self-serve place. You get a wristband and "activate" the drink you want..and pour yourself as much or as little of it as you want. Great prices too! Cool, hip & young vibe. Love the brick walls! But I love the HUUUGE selection of beer even more :) I absolutely love sour beers and I was so thrilled to see a pretty good selection of sours! Service was phenomenal too. I ordered a few bites and there was some miscommunication so one of my orders didn't go through..and in addition to the sincere apologies, they threw in a comped item AND 10% off entire tab voucher for my next visit. So cool of them!Minus one star because the food was meh..it seemed like they just microwaved products purchased off-site.BUUT overall wonderful experience. **Review from a non-beer drinker**I went to Pour Taproom with colleagues after work this week and wasn't super impressed. I was very excited there were wine options since I am not much of a beer drinker! I sampled a rose and chardonnay and both were room temperature which was a bummer. I went with a red blend which while not my favorite- was an easy enough sipper. :)It was 50% off wine night so I thought I'd have a steal! I guess my samples were small/quick enough that they only showed up as one. I was charged for a glass of wine and one sample, which at 50% off came to $6.35- Yikes! I'm not sure exactly what the break down was, but I'm sure glad I didn't have to pay full price for a mediocre glass of wine and  a couple tiny samples of warm white wine. My beer-drinking colleagues were also less than impressed with their final tabs; apparently even small samples add up fast at Pour! With so many other terrific bars in town, I'll be interested to see if the novelty of Pour can make it a winner. Personally I'd be more likely to visit again if they stocked better -and temperature appropriate- wines (hey, why not expand your market just a bit?), and bring down the prices. But hey, that's just me! More...

Seeing the Owner's response to my review and others' concerns has convinced me not to return.#1 Most importantly: the staff did not tell me the truth during my visit.  I was told that Pour does not keep personal information.  This was false and it is now very clear that personal information is kept and accessible to Pour staff.  I see another reviewer here that only provided her initials and the owner responded by revealing the customer's actual name!  I see no response indicating they are committed to telling the truth about how they keep and access private information when asked.#2 As a security analyst, I am acutely aware of information breach risks.  If Pour's computer system is breached, the fraud could cost each customer hundreds or thousands of dollars and dozens of hours to resolve.  lifelock.com/education/n…  Instead of listening to my helpful insight, the owner dismisses the issue and depicts me as not thinking "rationally."  I also took a look at the company that makes their system (iPourIt) and I cannot find any confirmation that they encrypt in rest and in motion, or implement any security measure at all.  #3 It is very common practice for businesses that collect personal information provide a public privacy policy.  This lets their customer know: what information is kept (ex: name/address/phone/etc), the security measures taken to secure and protect the information (encryption), which staff (if any) have access to the information, how/when that information is used, and who (if any) is the information shared with.  I cannot locate a privacy policy on pourtaproom.com or ipourit.com#4 I see several owner comments reciting Knoxville laws (ex: library.municode.com/tn/…).  While the laws might be relevant in some cases, I don't see any part of the law that requires Pour to ignore, mislead, argue with, or mistreat their customers. I visited Pour for the first time this past weekend. It is a great concept with an easy way to try a variety of beers, mead, wine and ciders. We had a few different sandwiches and all were tasty. But, what sets this place apart is the staff. I inadvertantly left behind something that would seem inconsequential to most but had a lot of sentimental value to me. When we returned later in the evening to ask if it had been found, it hadn't but John, the staff member on duty was so kind, listened to the story and helped look for the item. He then gave us the owner's card and told us they would keep looking and let us know. We called the next day to ask if the item had been located and it had not. However, the owner (Mariah) was so kind on the phone and let us know they would continue to look. And, to our delight - they did. We got a call later in the day and our sentimental item had been found! I cannot say enough about the "extra mile" these folks went through. Combined with the entire facility and all of the taps to try - I have found a new favorite place in Knoxville! More...

The ambience is simple and straight forward. When you go in, you show them your ID and start a kind of tab on your card in order to get a wrist band. You pay for only what you drink and you can try as little as an once. They also have limits on how much you can get so that people can't over drink and don't run up an expensive tab without realizing. There are some cool beers to try, but they also have wine, mead, and some non-traditional tap beverages. It was a cool mix of drinks that is nice for pregaming a night out. More...

Abysmal. Should be a flat zero. Two stars for the ambience and setting. I poured the last days of autumn Berliner Weissbier and it was a flat sour. The manager wanted to argue with the customer! Namely, me. These guys have a cute gimmick but it won't last. Any bartender in the world would've sampled the product and admitted the wrong keg was matched. Nice space in Old City.I was here for a private work event. There were plenty of tables to fit our company, inside and out on the patio. We were given wristbands, in our case, pre-paid with a drink limit. You flash them at the wine, beer and mead dispensers and pour what you want. Digital screens give more information on all the beverage offerings. The staff was friendly and explained how things work to all.A nice option to have. More...

Officially my new favorite hang out in Knoxville. Came here to grab a beer and work on homework. Staff is super friendly and gave everyone that walked in a tour of the place. This concept for a bar is seriously awesome and I truly hope that you all do well! I felt incredibly welcomed and will definitely be coming back. I wish you all the absolute best. Knoxville needed a place like this! More...

We were blown away by the concept and eager to try our hand at a self-serve taproom. It was a blast! I'm a bit of a lightweight (small female problems) but I love intense beers that usually come with a high abv. This allowed me to try a few different things without wondering if I would feel it too much by the time I left. The system shows you the oz per pour as well as the total oz poured for the night, making it super easy to keep track of your own volume. Loved it, this will probably be our new spot for "pub dates". This is a unique, clever concept.  However, we were staying in town overnight mid-road-trip, and had our teenage sons with us.  City ordinance for this 'taproom' does not allow anyone under 21 on premises, even outside on the front deck.  We stayed a short time and relative to all other local, unique establishments the beer was VERY expensive here.  Odd, because the staff isn't pouring your beer or waiting on you; you can even 'drop' your wristband in a glass jar on the way out without paying your tab in person.  One definitely pays for the experience here, fun to see, but I think I enjoy the interaction and prices of local breweries. Even completely crowded, it's a nice atmosphere. You can meander all over because you get up and get the beer yourself. Perfect for someone who likes to switch up their selection all night long instead of drinking the same thing. So many choices of beer and wine.

When you enter they give you an electronic bracelet that allows you to activate the huge selection of taps arranged along the back wall. From that point on you're on your own, free to sample any number of beers (and wine!), whether it be with a single sip or full glass. At the end you just drop your bracelet down a slot. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to go with a big group; you don't have to worry about catching the attention of a bartender or waiting for a server to come 'round. Would recommend. More...

Cool concept. Friendly staff. I think it's awesome that they have mead on tap too. A little pricey but it's to be expected for something like this. Great way to sample lots of different stuff. Live music and great atmosphere More...

Pretty awesome idea, and I love being able to try so many new beers. My only word of advice is to not go on the first day of a tap takeover or a day of multiple different beer releases. Every other tap you would get nothing but foam. Otherwise it's a great place in the Old City to just drink and hangout. More...

Really cool concept, nice modern design. They have a great selection and it's divided up nicely on the wall by style. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It's very easy to lose track of how many ounces you pour though. They have screens on each tap that tell you how much you pour and your total, but when you are only pouring a few ounces at a time, it doesn't register to you the same. You pay per ounce and go up every 28 ounces to the bar to get the staff to refresh. A good way to ensure people don't get too roudy here. More...

Pour your own beer in whatever quantity you want? Sample way more beers than you ever could before? You can do that here. Great concept and great atmosphere.
