Went with a big party and was seated very quickly. Not to packed on a Friday night surprisingly, but my assumption is because of the location. We ordered a few appetizers and the one that stood out the most was the garlic bread. Unfortunately the entrees were nothing special, their signature burger would be my recommendation if you want a safe pick. The service was very good and the drink specials were great as well. A cute, trendy location with romantic vibes. The live jazz music complements your meal very well. I took my girlfriend here on one of our first dates and the food blew us away. We had the eggplant parmesan as an appetizer, and split the pear filled pasta dish and a salad. Too much food, but well worth it. We highly recommend the pear filled pasta and to try out one of the many Italian bottle of wines they have. More...

Came here for a work lunch. The atmosphere is amazing it feels like you're in Italy. When you sit down they bring you a bread basket. The bread was soft and fluffy, also before the meal they also bring you a small side salad. I'm vegan and don't consume dairy so I asked them if they had pasta Pomodoro and they brought me over pasta Pomodoro with eggplant and tomatoes in it. The sauce on the pasta was really flavorful but not over salty. They're pasta doesn't have eggs in it which I like because  it taste lighter and has a better consistency. More...

Not only is the food delicious and fresh, the service is phenomenal! They refill waters without asking, bring the check quickly. .. and everyone who works there is super nice and welcoming. Love the ambiance and decor, but I come for the food! Every soup I've had so far is delicious (and their daily soups are always vegetarian!). The bread they use for the sandwiches and bruschetta is soft and fresh. Pasta is cooked al dente.  Can't wait to try more of their menu! More...

The food here is superb, I can honestly say my grilled shrimp on a bed of Italian couscous was one of the best meals I have had since we arrived in Miami almost a year ago.  I take away 1 star only because it is so hot in the restaurant and too dark you can't see what you are eating.  Having said that we will go back to eat in the winter because we enjoyed our food so much. What a great find! The staff is friendly, jazz band is very talented, and food is authentic. Hidden gem with delicious food, great service and nice ambient...the best part about it you don't feel like you are in Miami and could be on a side street somewhere in Italy.  We ordered the mussels, lamb and eggplant.  The dessert was to die for as well which was a flourless chocolate cake and even though not a limoncello fan they make their own which was delicious. Amazing food, ambiance and service! Very nice date spot! This is one of my favorites places to eat Italian food. They have live music in the evenings. Great little gem I discovered while I was wandering around in downtown Miami. The whole place feels very much like Europe with the antique decors and the attentive/italian servers. One thing that blew me and my girlfriend away was the Fazzoletti Di Formaggio E Pera - the pear is Perfectly made and it made the entire pasta dish light and enjoyable! If you enjoy live music definitely stay past 8! The extra $2 is totally worth it to stay at such a cute date spot. One thing about this place that can improve is adding more fans - it gets quite hot in Miami and the whole restaurant is open door More...

Let's start with the ambiance. This has the coolest decor of any restaurant I've ever been to in Miami. Our server was attentive and very polite. Two of the six in our party are vegetarians and the restaurant was more than happy to accommodate modifications to their plates. The food was excellent as well. A different take on the filet mignon but very good. The black linguine with lobster was outstanding. Live music was good and not so loud that it hindered conversations. If there is anything that I can't rave about it would be the lack of AC. I won't go so far to say it deterred from the experience, but it was a little uncomfortable on a muggy Miami night. More...

I'll start by saying that while waiting for the rest of my party to arrive, I sat out side with a glass of wine and observed a homeless man walk by and ask another patron for money. I start looking in my purse to give him some money when I see the owner came out, not to shoo him away or reprimand him, but to tell him that he was preparing a dish for him and to sit and wait for it to be packed. It made my soul happy to see the compassion. It was a great start to an outstanding experience.  Eclectic decor, great food, great service and great ambiance. Feels like you're eating in a little restaurant in Rome. Very quaint and welcoming. They had a little jazz band playing that was very good yet not overpowering to where you couldn't have a nice conversation with others at your table. Everyone at my table loved their food and the wine. The prices were very reasonable. Dessert was a hit and a miss. The cannoli was exceptional but the tiramisu was a little bland for me ( everyone else loved it) so it's just a personal choice). After dinner we were given a complimentary after dinner drink that's like a limoncello, but creamier. Though I like the original limoncello better, everyone else loved it. Seems I am either very picky or just a pain the ass  I recommend you go and experience this place yourself! I truly think this place is a hidden gem and the owner along with his staff have a have a heart of gold. More...

I came here for lunch and most likely wouldn't have found this place unless someone else in our party had suggested it, as the decor, food and overall experience here is quite unexpected vs. what one sees when driving by on the street. When you first peer into this restaurant it looks quite small, but the adjacent space where most patrons are seated is quite large and is completely unique in the City of Miami.  It looks as if a breezeway or courtyard area between two old and ornate building exteriors was covered over with a roof and some furniture and artwork added.  The walls of the dining room are stone (again, formerly the exteriors of 2 old buildings) with huge, ornate arch windows on both sides.  To me, it looked and felt like a few of the places I'd dined at when in Europe. We were seated right away and given menus. When our soft drinks were delivered we also received a basket of 2 different breads and butter.  I ordered the Pollo ai funghi for my main course, which comes with a house salad.  The salad was quite good, and before I was able to finish it, my entree was arriving.  The (supposedly hormone and antibiotic free) chicken and mushroom sauce were quite good, as were the roasted potatoes and vegetables it was served with.  The price was also more than reasonable at just under $17 as well.My only possible criticism would be with the wait staff. While they were accommodating and attentive, to me they looked a bit unkempt, even what some would consider dirty.  Their oily, greasy hair and jeans both looked like they needed washed pretty badly. Questo posto è magico! This cozy gem is exactly what Miami's post-modernism is all about. A little charming spot in the heart of Downtown, seated in an gorgeous colonial building, with all of the allure and grandeur only authentic Italians can pull off. Food is authentic and delicious, service is remarkable (sei stato meraviglioso, bella Daniella), and the owner, Rosario, a handsome Napoletano, greets you and treats you 'come parte della famiglia!' Decor is vintage, rugged and very Euro-urban. Wine list is sexy and sophisticated. Ambiance is romantic and intimate, and the live music brings the whole experience together. All in all, you must dine here at least once in your South Florida tour. Grazie Mille per tutto! More...

Revisited this spot after many, many years. Honestly, it's the ambiance that makes it so unique. It's eclectic and it definitely transports you to that restaurant you may stumble upon on any given night in Italy. The food is not impressive but it's not bad either. Skip the apps and order a simple pasta and a bottle of wine... then just sip and relax and take it all in. Service is average but the music is wonderful. On Friday nights you get the loveliest jazz band, Yamit and Vinyl Blvd. ... seriously fantastic! Essentially you are in an old building with super high ceilings surrounded by shelves of books and random collections of items. Old miss matched furniture ...it may be crowded or not but definitely chill. More...

A true gem in the middle of downtown Miami! We didn't know much about this place but decided to give it a try. Came for a dinner with my wife. Someone greeted us in Italian welcoming us to the place. We asked if we could see the place before we ask for a table; what we hear and saw was nice and classy they had a musician playing very nice music so we ask for a table. They sat us in the middle of the restaurant that looks more like an old Library with pictures and statues of Ancient Rome! To start of we ordered a couple of glasses of wine and an appetizer made of eggplant   parmigiana with melted cheese on top and it was a Tru delight. Gave us some Italian bread so we could really clean up the marinara sauce that was left on the plate. I ordered a bake flounder on top of mashed potatoes with crushed pistachios on top  a must trying. My wife ordered a fazzoletti di formaggio e  Pera .  A kind of filled cheese and pear tortellini with a white sauce that was extraordinary exquisite! A must try as well. The service is great and prices are according to the service  highly recommended Unfortunately we were stuffed and didn't have a chance to try a dessert but they gave us each a taste of a dessert drink  similar to limoncello to have a good digestion!! We will go back soon to try other dishes.Great Italian Restaurant!!!!! More...

Without question, this is the most authentically Italian restaurant I've been to in the United States. Sitting in Soya E Pomodoro feels akin to sitting in a restaurant in Rome or Florence. The food is excellent - we enjoyed a short-rib ravioli special and the flounder. We were also able to take advantage of half-price bottles of wine on Wednesday to enjoy a decadent brunello. Excellent place to enjoy an imaginary trip all over Italy through its food. We had an extraordinary experience from head to toe and that is thanks to the entire team that works there without exceptions. One of the most interesting places in our opinion in Miami which is what we know best; not only because of the food which is more than exquisite and authentic but also the atmosphere of the place. An special thanks to Chris who did a great job taking care of us and Guido, one of the owners of the place, who we had the pleasure to meet, that made sure we got to know a little bit more of his culture. I came here because a business associate was having a going away dinner there. I've driven by this spot before and had been curious about going inside but had not had the chance to so I was really excited to eat here when I heard that the food was authentic Italian. When we got to the restaurant there at 7pm there were already some people there. The fans were on but it was still pretty smoldering cause there's no AC...The restaurant is completely alfresco even though it's inside a building. There are garage doors to close off the  restaurant at night so it's either totally open or totally closed. The decor of the restaurant  is eclectic and bohemian. it is very charming...but still, everyone was pretty hot. Especially since they area we sat in was next to the open kitchen. As people started coming in the wait staff made no effort to join the tables together or even accommodate guests with additional seating which I found to be annoying. So I grabbed my chair and dragged it to the table that everyone was huddled up in. The server was pouring everyone prosecco as they came in so that was pretty excellent. As everyone was talking and standing around they brought out some bruschetta which was delicious because the tomatoes were a great quality. Then after awhile, we ordered our entrees. I chose the pappardelle with prawns in a pistachio sauce for only $18. OMG!! It could not have been more perfect. The pappardelle- was excellent. The prawns were fresh and had such great flavor and the sauce was was creamy and herbaceous. I ate everything on that plate. Everyone else looked very happy with their food as well. I was too full for dessert and just wanted to nap after all that pasta and left soon after. I have to say that the service was actually really good despite them not attending to our sitting needs. They always replaced dirty plates and silverware quickly. And they were very attentive to our wine and prosecco needs. I would definitely visit this restaurant again but probably on a cooler evening for an intimate dinner. It's very affordable and I look forward to trying another delicious dish. More...

I don't spend a lot of time in downtown but am frequently surprised how many hidden gems like this there are in the area. If I hadn't been taken here I would have never thought to go inside . The food here is excellent, the ambiance is very cool, the service is great, and some nights there's even a jazz band playing while you eat. Very glad to have discovered this place. Went to lunch with a dear friend and business associate and he introduced me to this place. Out of all the people I know he knows good food as well as new places. So when given the choice between two restaurants one I had been to many times and here I chose this place. Located in Downtown Miami which is a bit of a challenge when it comes to parking. Luckily there was a valet for the Seybold building one block up heading west. As we enter a little before noon, still early by Miami standards we were shown a table for two. I asked if we could get a table for four which was still inside but closer to street and people watching. We started with water being that we are having a bit of a heat wave even for Miami it is a little too hot. Oh I forgot to mention this place is all outside. My friend says it is great at night. As for my next visit will be in November through March I am an AC girl. The waiter he told me the specials. He tells me they have flounder. I question him as I never heard of fresh flounder being served outside the NE on special. I questioned was it frozen and he tells me the chef is very particular. This intrigues me as flounder is my favorite. Well it comes with a nice side salad to start. There is oil and vinegar in the table. Now the flounder arrives served fresh and delicious!  It also was served with fresh sliced potatoes which were lightly browned and a veggie mix that had peas. Surprisingly I was able to eat every thing my friend had his gnnochi finished as well that was served with a red sauce. They also had a nice bread basket with the most delicious bread as well. This place was truly a find! I got cannolis to go as I was too full but didn't want to miss what they would be like. Well later on in my office I opened up to discover not one but four mini cannolis to share. They were truly delicious. Nice ending to a great meal and experience. More...

This place is one of the most romantic, authentic places I've been to in a while. It's a hole in a wall, and a very special hidden gem in my opinion. I love more than anything the experience of dining here, its very private and beautiful, and the ambiance is great, there's even a live band to set the mood. I would mostly recommend this place for romantic dates but when I was there I actually saw a bit of everything (from family outings to graduation celebrations to two girlfriends just catching up and grabbing a bite in their outdoor seating), so I'll just say go here if you're looking for authentic hand made pasta restaurant and a marvelous time. The service was great (tip is included in the bill) everyone is willing to help you with whatever you need. They give great recommendations in case you're not sure of what to order, they're very nice and I really felt that they made our night so special, they were just so accommodating! The food was great, we had bruschetta (delicious), spaghetti and meat sauce, a white sauce pasta that had pear (fazzoletti of pear and cheese) which is the BEST plate there and a torta capresse which was also to die for. If it hadn't been for our server we wouldn't have tried our favorite plates which were the fazzoletti and torta capresse- so a huge thanks to them! But honestly aside from the delicious authentic food this place is a huge must, it's all about the experience and what a beautiful night you'll have. Love it and I'm so glad I found them! More...

Food was authentic, fresh and delicious.  Established in what seems to be an old bank, reclaimed to make a one of a kind dining ambience in Miami. Service was quick. The meal was thoughtfully prepared, and took roughly 25 mins.  You're definitely getting a lot of value here. A two person lunch was under $40. Great price for the quality delivered. Tavioliere di Formaggi ed Olive: Selection of imported Cheese from Italy & Green Olives There were 3 or 4 different types of cheese brought with the best marmalade we ever had. The cheese was good but I wasn't blown away. It was hard to differentiate what each one was. We're pretty sure one was parmesan and that's all we could decipher. We wish we knew what we were eating. However, the marmalade was amazing. It was the sweet and paired well with the cheese. We ate it with the bread and I think that cinched it. Carpaccio di Manzo: Beef Carpaccio with Arugula and Parmesan CheeseIt was good, but not great. It was thinly sliced beef, but it was sliced so thin that the taste of the beef wasn't that noticeable, which I prefer in her carpaccio. The arugula and parmesan was good and went well with the carpaccio. Filetto Alla Provola: Filet Mignon with smoked Mozzarella & sauteed Spinach with Homemade Mashed Potatoes My bf wasn't asked how he would liked his meat cooked which was somewhat alarming. However, they did cook it to a nice Medium. He really liked the steak, but I thought it was alright. The spinach was standard, but we swear that the mashed potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes! There was no way it was homemade. We don't even think we got smoked mozzarella on the dish but we didn't realized. Fazzoletti di Formaggio e Pera: Fresh Pear & Cheese stuffed pasta w/ sautéed baby Shrimp in a creamy Ricotta sauce. The best dish! I've never had anything like this before. We were both iffy on the fact that there was pear in the dish but it was amazing. The ravioli had a nice texture and it was pleasant to chew. The pear sort of made the filling feel like peanut butter, not taste wise. It was slightly sweet and went well with the ricotta sauce, which was delicious. We basically licked the plate. Only complaint was that there wasn't enough shrimp. but when do you ever get enough shrimp?Overall, the food is alright with the exception of the pear pasta. That was amazing and what gives this place a four star. More...

A GEM!! From the moment you walk in, you know you're in for a special evening. The ambiance, the service, the food and the drinks are all amazing. We took a walk around when we first arrived to take in the surroundings. It's open air and archways and an eclectic decor. The live jazz band was setting up so we decided to sit closer to the entrance to avoid being too close to the band while eating. The menu is tight but enticing. We selected the Carpaccio di Manzo, (beef carpaccio) which was perfection. We also had the Insalata Rucolae Pecorino with baby arugula, fennel, pecorino and orange segments. Also perfection. For our main course, we shared the special for the evening which was Spinach Risotto with Scallops. It was rich but delicious and perfect to share which left just enough room for a tiramisu. Nice wine selection. We opted for the Rose Prosecco. The service was on point and everyone there made us feel like we were a part of their family. And, did I mention the live jazz band? Totally going back to hear them again. They were sensational!! Went on a recommendation from a friend and would TOTALLY go again and again and again. More...

We were in town for the Miami Boat Show and wanted to try something a bit more authentic for dinner. This place is charming. It felt like we dropped into an alleyway in Naples. When we first drove up in our cab, I was wondering where the heck he was taking us. The neighborhood feels pretty sketchy at night to someone who doesn't live in Miami, even though it's only seven minutes from the JW Marriott downtown. Then you see people spilling out into the street, sitting at little tables and you walk inside. It's funky, earthy, eclectic, we loved the energy and mixed crowd. One of the owners personally waited on us and the antipasto was delicious. The buffalo mozzarella was so fresh it blew my mind. The prosciutto was the kind I used to have as a little girl. Wonderful. It was clear that the owners and everyone we met that works there cares about authenticity, freshness and the way food is supposed to taste in Italy. My husband had the pasta with shrimp and pears. Unfortunately I am allergic so I have to take his word that it was good. I had the beef medallions and they were delicious. Thankfully we had not eaten much all day so we got the cannoli and coffee. It's amazing we didn't pass out from all the food, but it was like coming home for me to have such wonderful service and homemade, authentic Italian food. We wanted to stay for the jazz, but after all that sun and walking, we were done. If you are downtown, just take an Uber because street parking is always a pain and most women don't like to walk too far in heels. Definitely have the antipasto, if only for the mozzarella. Wow! If you want authentic Italian put this place on your list. I will return the next time I'm in town. More...

I love this place. It makes you feel like you're in the middle of Italy but you're in the heart of Downtown Miami (and by heart, I mean the dirtiest part). The decorations are really cute. I went here for lunch a few times and we spent one of my birthdays there. It was very romantic and they had a live jazz band. The staff was very friendly and brought me a dessert with a candle. Food overall was great - from pasta to fish to salads. I highly recommend going there. More...

This place is great because of the venue, the feel, and the food. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that it gets extremely hot in there, Miami heat hot. Not a reason to deter people from going, but it has been an issue when I've gone with large parties. If you see photos, the dining area is in a large open old building downtown. There's a library-style area with clothes hanging and a live band. It's extremely Italian and authentic. It's very dark and romantic, but even if you go with friends you'll have a great time of conversation and good wine/food. More...

Excellent establishment for authentic Italian food. It's walking distance from me in downtown Miami and close to nearby metromovers (college north/miami ave stops), but looked like plenty of street parking. We were greeted very warmly and seated right away. The place's ambiance is beautiful, and was easy to feel like you are in an Italian alleyway. They even have a clothesline hanging. Theres very cool art pieces and the walls have book cases filled with old books (which i loveeeee). Very intimate but I did not feel claustrophobic at all. The night we went, a jazz band called VinylBlvd was playing. Music was great and we sat right next to them but the volume control was perfect, so i could still have a conversation. Now for the food... very good. We started with some clams, which were bomb and fresh. Jen got wide pasta with shrimp in pistachio sauce (pappardelle with shrimps in pistachio sauce). So good and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I got mushroom ravioli (ravioli ai funghi porcini) with a walnut sauce which was rich and had a good toasty taste. Ingredients tasted very fresh and the pasta is very high quality. To top it off, the servers were great. They came at the perfect times and were attentive the whole way through, but not overbearing at all.Awesome job at this place will be coming a lot more often.Oh they charge $2/person for the band but it was worth it to me, no big. We had the antipasto appetizer and the pappardelle with shrimps and pistacho sauce it was amazing!! We paired it with some prosecco. I would definitely go back for dinner. Prices were reasonable. You just have to go see for yourself! They have live music and a wonderful staff. The Ravioli Ai Funghi Porcini is to die for! So so so good!! I've also tried the Bruschetta Classica, Antipasto Affettato, Melanzane alla Parmigiana (amazing), and a few other dishes. But I mostly go back to the Ravioli because its so amazing. The cook on heir lamb is insanely close to perfection. Burrata (when available) is immaculate. Effortless environment - be prepared for something different (former old Miami library turned indoor/outdoor cafe). Live music was full of soul and flavor, too. LOVE this place. It's a little hole in the wall (quite literally, the restaurant is tucked into a section of downtown facade) that serves ****delicious pasta that tastes so authentic, I could swear I was back in Italy! **** The decor is charming and comical. The seating area for patrons is part living room and part Italian alleyway. Among the tables, there's a couch with a low coffee table, and various curio cabinets and bookshelves along the walls. High above the diners, there's a laundry line hung from faux apartment windows, comically "drying" various articles of clothing -- including an oversized pair of men's briefs.   ;) The music is beyond! I don't know who is in-charge of selecting their performers, but, BRAVO! Very jazzy, speak easy cool! This place feels like it's hidden away and has the perfect balance between hole in the wall and comfortable Italian. What's comfortable Italian you may ask? It's where you don't get that stereotypical Italian music with starched white table clothes. This place is decorated with the most random of decors, including a clothing line above you with tons of clothes hanging on it. My wife and I chose Soya & Pomodoro as our 1st wedding anniversary dinner and they did not disappoint. Upon our arrival we were greeted kindly by the hostess and sat. We sat in an area that created so that we feel that we are dining in an alley between building in Italy. Very cool! The place is intimate and perfect for a date. There was also live music that fit perfectly with the ambience. We had 2 nice glasses of prosecco to start off our celebration. We then ordered a nice bottle of red wine and ordered the clams for our appetizer. It did not disappoint.  The dish was very tasty and the tomatoes were a nice complement. The sauce was fantastic and of course we dipped our bread in it! I ordered the lamb shank. It came with mashed potatoes and I ordered some sautéed spinach. Absolutely wonderful! The meat was incredibly tender and so full of flavor as was the mashed potatoes. My wife had the corvina fish. The flavor was spectacular and the cauliflower that came with it was equally good. Came here about 2 weeks ago after Happy Hour for some Jazz and wine.  It was packed on a Friday night at 9pm, we were lucky to get  table without reservations.  The owner greeted us and was very accommodating. We enjoyed a bottle of their house Chianti, came out chilled, A + for that, very smooth and full of flavor.  We also had their antipasto board, perfect combo of burrata, grilled sun dried tomato, olives, mortadella, prosciutto and salami.  Their bruschetta is fresh and warm and the bread for olive oil dipping is plentiful.  Last night we actually made reservations but somehow ended up only having the antipasto again.  It was the perfect night, Jazz, good food and once again, amazing wine and friendly service.  Soya E Pomodoro transforms your Miami living into an Italian vacation.  I seriously did not want to leave this place.  The architecture is simply astonishing.  I believe this was an old bank with high ceilings and beautiful structural archways that really give this now restaurant, a unique look. A really beautiful hidden restaurant. First, I didn't even feel like I was in Miami. It's beautifully decorated and the food was pretty good. I ordered the Fazzoletti di Formaggio e Peraa which is a Fresh Pear & Cheese stued pasta w/ sautéed baby Shrimp in a creamy Ricotta sauce. It was really good at first. But then the sweetness of the pear was a little too much for me. It left me craving more creamy sauce and shrimp, less pear in my opinion. For dessert, I ordered the panna cotta which was pretty good too, but a little like jello. I personally prefer it creamier. Just based on what I ordered, I would it it fours stars. I never would have expected to find a beautiful place like this next to a smoke shop and a pawn shop, lol, but wow!! What a hidden gem :) I came here for a private event so we practically filled up the whole restaurant, being that it's very small and very intimate (great date night location! ). Since this was an event, I was only able to try a few tapas... Maybe I'll return another day and try their entrees :) for the tapas I tried their:- Bruschetta Classica: crispy and toasty ciabatta bread topped with tomatoes, basil, and some yummy mozzarella. I enjoyed this, very simple. - Carpaccio di Manzo: This was very thin beef carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan shavings.. This was yummy but the arugula overwhelmed my palate just a little bit. - Melanzale alla Parmigiana: baked goodness stuffed with eggplant, mozzarella, and tomatoes... TOTALLY recommend!- Ceviche: I didn't see this on the menu but they passed around mini tortilla chip cups stuffed with some of the best ceviche I have ever had- I kept asking them to bring more, lol. Finally, I tried a little plate of their Fazzoletti di Formaggio e Pera, which were basically little purses stuffed with pear, cheese, and baby shrimp. This is what I'll be ordering the next time I visit- can't wait to have a whole plate! It was creamy and perfect. Also, the live band was stellar!!! The service was outstanding and the pasta dishes were fresh and done properly. The prices were very reasonable for Miami. I plan on making trips back since I live so close to the place. More...

I am SO glad my friends performed here last night because aside from how amazing the live music was, I absolutely fell in love with this adorable Italian restaurant. I felt like I was casually dining in the streets of Europe that are part residential and part nightlife with their old-fashioned tables, clothes hanging on a clothesline above us, picture frames everywhere, bookshelves!, lamps, etc. It had a very antique-feel to it.The food is GREAT. My friends and I came from another event so we weren't entirely hungry so two of us split a meal. We split the ravioli ai funghi porcini, which is kind of like their ravioli with mushroom cream sauce. The only thing I regret is not getting this dish entirely for myself (LOL). It was so good! We were scraping the sauce on the plate with our bread so that we wouldn't waste it! Some other friends got the bruschetta and they were very pleased. I definitely gotta go back and try that. The next dish I want to try is the Fazzoletti di Formaggio e pera, which is pasta filled with pear and ricotta cooked with shrimp in a creamy sauce. DROOL. I want some NAO.It's been awhile since I've been to such a good italian restaurant and I think I found a new favorite. Right in downtown Miami, they must be busy often. The weather was also slightly chilly last night so it was perfect. Can't wait to go back! Omnomnom. More...

Quick Background about me: 9 years in the hospitality industry (from dishwasher, server, manager, you name it!). Have worked as a personal chef. Traveled extensively through Europe, lived in Africa and South America, Now the U.S. I find myself a foodie and pretty decent at wine... Review: I came here for a friends birthday. love the live music but it was a bit too loud and we wanted to hear eachother talk, so we sat in the adjacent room. The decoration and ambiance is amazing. I love the open air concept, it felt like a wonderful Moroccan cafe with the openness and and high ceilings (thinking of my time in morocco even though this place is absolutely and completely not decorate this way and in the Italian sense) Service was great, wine was a good selection, and the food was to die for. The dessert was the best part of course. Thank you and I will be back. More...

This a little, quaint, quirky restaurant in downtown Miami. My friend who is from the area, suggested it. The service was a bit disorganized, and they didn't speak good english. So minus one star for that. As for the food, it was pretty good, not amazing, but good. We get the Melanzan alla parmigiana as an appetizer, homemade gnocchi and lello. All good options to try. We got ice teas with fresh mint, which were a lovely addition. It's a nice Italian place to try, if you are in the area and you appreciate a very eclectic, yet comfy atmosphere that opens to the outside. More...

First of all it's not in the hustle and bustle of downtown Miami as I thought.  Restaurant is in more of a industrial district which was a disappointment but that's where it ends.  This place is fabulous!  it used to be a bank so it has the high ceilings and an open space but it is a small restaurant.  You will need to make reservations .  It is romantic with subdued lighting and a very nice ambience.  It is an Italian restaurant and when you walk in and look up you see clothes hanging to dry on a clothesline like the city of Naples.  I'm not sure about Friday but on Saturdays there is live music and there is a small section with sofas to just sit back and relax while having a glass of wine. There is a small area on the other side of the restaurant but they don't have a bar nor do they have a full bar menu , disappointed about that! Their wine menu wasn't even that large so that was even a bigger disappointment.  The food definitely made up for it though.  Their pasta is homemade and the shrimp pasta dish that I had was out of this world!!! We met and spoke with one of the owners and he was a delight to speak to.  We will definitely go back!  it was a beautiful place that brought us back to Italy ! More...

Soya & Pomodoro is really one of those hole in the wall places that you just accidently stumble upon and then think, how did I not know about this place? !  First of all, when you arrive you're gonna take a step back and look around twice, no way are you in Miami any more.  The decor inside is so eclectic and European, it makes you just want to sit and stay to take it all in.  I've been several time for lunch and the service is on point and friendly. This is a hidden gem in downtown Miami! The vibe is phenomenal. Bohemian Italian! It's as authentic as you can get. I love the exposed brick walls of the historic building they are in.  I've mostly gone for lunch but I know some weeknights they have live music - molto romantico! The staff treats you like family from the minute you walk in and they refer to all women as "Bella".  Great for the ego! ;)Now to the food... I haven't tried a single thing I didn't like. The bread and olive oil are absolutely amazing!!! Ask for the spicy olive oil if you wanna jazz things up a bit.  The soups are ALL OUTTA hand.  The orecchiette with broccoli rabe is excellent. Their fish specials are always excellent. Their salads are all really really good. If you don't have a huge appetite, a soup and a Pia (smaller eggplant parm portion) is perfect. A must try!! Rosario and Cristian responded to every e-mail, phone call, and in person meeting to help us plan every aspect of the event. They were very accommodating to every last minute change. In the end, the event was a huge success. Our guests were happy, the food was great, the staff very helpful, and everyone had fun. It is one of the most unique venues in Miami. Such a lovely restaurant in downtown Miami!Me and my very good friend stopped by here as she mentioned it was one of her favorite restaurants in Miami since she moved there last summer. She also mentioned that they have live jazz on Friday evenings and she knows that I love jazz. We actually was there around 8:30 as we got to watch the band setup and kick the night off. The scenery of this place reminded me of a couple of places I visited in Rome as you are inside but it looks and feels like you are outside. the ceiling are very high and have really cool art on the walls along with dim lighting, but I felt like I was eating in an alley in Rome which was cool. The band had a lounge singer as part of the group and she was awesome. Very gorgeous smile as well as a gorgeous voice attached. We actually saw her when we came in as she was trying to get the host to tend to us, but owe just thought she was a regular patron LOL. Very nice crowd was here this evening and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves here.We started out with a bottle of pretty good sauvignon blanc along with cheese an olives plate. Lots of cheese and very little olives. I then ordered the Pappardelle Gambrel which was a huge amount of pasta with tomatoes and pistachio sauce with full shrimp on top...no the head and eyes were not cut off LOL. Very good dish but I liked her dish better as she got the Fazzoletti Formaggio which seemed a little like gnocchi. Our server Armando was awesome...he seemed more like a manager of the place though. Good spot...love it! More...

We dined here last week and absolutely loved it. This is one of the most unique dining and entertainment experiences I've had in Miami. The space is not so much a building as it is the space between buildings. Once you are there you could swear you had found some little spot in Venice or Florence. They offer live jazz which made it even more great. The furnishings are a hodgepodge of found antiques and curiosities. Somehow it all works to create one of the most romantic and unique spaces I've seen. The ramshackle kitchen puts out food that will remind you of an Italian mother telling you to "mangia, mangia". Portions are hale and the food is delicious and well prepared. We particularly loved the mustard crusted sea bass with rosemary potatoes. Let me start off by saying that I LOVED this restaurant.  The food was excellent.  The space was very cool (in a lobby of a former bank in downtown Miami - high tall ceilings and tall beautiful columns). The staff were all Italian, the service was good, the wine they recommended was great! We ordered a couple of items off the menu and a couple of chef's specials. All the dishes were excellent.  A dinner for 4 with a bottle of excellent wine cost us $125 and was worth every penny!  We went to Soya e Pomodoro for dinner on a Saturday night.  They had a band playing and they were very good. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try on Saturday night, and were delightfully surprised! To be fair, we did have an issue with the wait-time. We had reservations for 9:30PM, and 45 minutes later, we were still waiting for our food and 2nd round of drinks. However, we made the mistake of going on a Saturday night while the film festival was taking place, and the staff did warn us of a lengthier wait time for the food. We were just about ready to cancel our order, when the manager Armando came over to our table and assured us that he'd personally make it right for us..and he really did! He brought us our food and drinks personally, almost immediately after. And he topped it off with voiding our entire drink order, and even threw in a free dessert! It's very rare these days for a manager to really show such a sincere concern over a customer's complaint. The food was absolutely delicious, and filling. Everything was fresh and extremely tasty! Not to mention the great ambiance, which included live music..I would definitely recommend this place to a friend, and will be going back very soon..5 stars for sure! More...

Want to head out of Miami for the night but too lazy to pack, pass through security and risk the possibility of a delay? Easy, visit Soya & Pomodoro in Downtown Miami. Headed to this restaurant on a Saturday night with a group of friends and as soon as we got a block away from the restaurant we could already here the live Jazz, it carried us right in. It seemed as though the host would have bet you we were not in Miami, from his clothing to the accent, we were convinced. We sat down inside and after speaking on how the setting itself is so refreshing and unlike Miami restaurants we began ordering some wine and appetizers. My wife ordered the pear filled pasta and I went with the Lamb shank and both were delicious, I had no problem finishing off both plates. With wine, a salad, 2 meals and tip we spent $70. I have already recommended this place to friends and family and plan on coming back soon! Couldn't decide where to eat on Thursday night, so my lady and I decided to go to the closest restaurant with the best yelp reviews. That brought us to Soya e Pomodoro right around the corner. The meal started kind of weird when the waitress said she wasn't sure where her chef was and made it sound like maybe he wasn't coming. She clarified and said he'd be in, so we just ordered the cheese plate and chilled until he came. All three cheeses were outstanding and brought me back to my favorite Italian store up north (why don't they have any good ones down here?). It was served with some shaved fennel, kalamata olives, and green spanish olives which was a nice touch. While the filet medallions with smoked mozz sounded pretty great, I would have rather seen it with gorgonzola, so I did a 180 and opted for the paccheri melanzane (tube pasta with eggplant and pomodoro sauce). It was delicous and covered in aged ricotta cheese. It was indeed al-dente, but could have actually used a couple more minutes in the water. Girlfriend got the porcini mushroom ravioli and it was outstanding. Creamy but not heavy-- really well balanced.  Overall you can't beat the vibe of this spot. You will be hard pressed to find another restaurant in the downtown core that has better ambiance AND food. I definitely recommend checking it out and will be back myself to try something new. If you have not been to Italy -- you must visit this place and get a feel for what the experience would be if you actually did. To all those complaining about the food: I have not ever, tasted anything more authentic, to Italian food, before I discovered this little spot in the dark streets of Downtown Miami. Owners are, like most Italians, so very-friendly and warming, they do know how to make you feel at home. They even took, my friend and I, on a tour of the place which in the past (20 years or so...) used to be a virtually Hollywood hidden gem for filming high-profile movies, as it, too, used to be a bank. So unique. The food is freshly prepared, made from scratch. They do take their time, but hey, find yourself a good companion and wait on.I would say the only downside is that they do charge a $2 fee (per person) on the busy evenings to support the live Jazz bands that come out and entertain you. But who would complain about jazzy nights, good company and excellent food. So, give it a try! More...

I had heard so much about this place and I wanted to try it out so bad... but I sort of forgot it existed... until recently. Took me a long time to go to Soya e Pomodoro, but it did not disappoint. 10 of us showed up on a Friday night and the place (a very different looking restaurant) was packed. We had no reservation so we almost walked away but they managed to fit all 10 of us in a table fairly quick, so we stayed.Ill start the review by saying that the service is probably one of the best I have ever seen in Miami. These crazy italians clearly enjoy what they do. Maybe its because we had italian-speakers at the table..They offered us a deal, pay $30 per head and they would just bring food... and they did.... We had Burrata, eggplant and several tablas of prosciutto and cheese. Excellent.... oh and the bread? Oh-the-bread...For the main dish they brought these huge plates of Pasta... simple, but tasty. Cant complain. With house wine, beer, coffee and dessert we ended up spending about $50 per head, which is not bad at all. Will definitely go back... if I could I would give this place 4 1/2 stars, because I did feel the pasta's could have had a little bit more to them. But its closer to 5 stars than to 4, so... More...

Their mismatched chairs, Italian laundry hanging on the clothesline above, the menu in old leather cover, the books in the shelves, and that lone stool for the troubadour... and coupled with friendly staff and tasty al-dente pasta, I think I'm finally sold.I was told that the popular dish is the pear and cheese pasta (fazzoletti di formaggio e pera - $15), but honestly I thought that could be found in many other Italian places. Then I was confided that the staff's favorite dish was the eggplant pasta (paccheri melenzane e ricotta salata - $13). And upon tasting this dish which I had expected to be simple and plain (Vegetables and pasta? No meat? Really?), it ended up satisfying my tastebuds so much that I had wished there were more (even though I did get full after having my whole plate).Coupled with my glass of Chianti, and the saxophone tuning in with the guitar, I couldn't have asked for a better laid-back night anywhere in Miami.Funny how the stars for this place keeps growing since my first visit back in 2007 (they've actually been open for nine years now and still they remain on the down low). I've had lunch here many times. I took my friends from Milan here and they thought it was very authentic. The place has a real charm to it. I recently went for dinner Saturday night with some friends visiting from NYC. We had such good food and service. The live music was...o-k? I would prefer to not eat with a band playing... More...

My new favorite Italian spot downtown. Move over LaLoggia, you have some competition. I went with 3 friends. I had the penne pasta with spinach, mushrooms and mozzarella. Absolutely delicious. I wanted to lick the plate! (I didn't.) The portion was big enough to take some home. Friends had spaghetti with meatballs, fazzoletti with shrimp in a creme sauce (like pasta "purses" filled with cheese and pears) and lastly, the eggplant. The only complaint was that the eggplant didn't come with pasta. But everyone was thrilled with their choices.I love the ambiance. Having never been to Europe, Soyo has the look and feel of an Italian cafe. Or rather what I have seen in pictures! Yet, with the "Miami" experience of an outside Cuban cafe. It's an open air restaurant with no A/C but lots of fans. If you're a native, this won't bother you. If not, you may be a bit warm. The decorations are wonderful. The old-style archways, brightly colored paintings reminiscent of Haitian art, even up to a laundry line hanging way overheard, it's a cool, fun place to sit in and look around. We got there about 12:45p, and got the last table. The service was good, considering it was so busy. I see folks complaining about the service. Did he smile enough? Did they ask if all was ok? Did they refill my water glass without asking? Maybe not, so big deal. The food and atmosphere more than makes up for it.I hear Happy Hour is wonderful with live music. Can't wait to check it out. More...

Very interesting ambiance. perfect place to get ugly before bumping uglies. It's humid and dank..no big swinging menu to roll your eyes at or annoying staff to interrupt your conversation. .its not busting at the seams with Italianized Venezuelans having conversations with the restaurant- its just right. nice carpaccios, nice wines, nice live music.Unpretentious and charming. Very good place to take your flavor of the week and fool her into thinking you're more interesting than you really are, haha. Take notes. More...

In terms of look and feel, this place is 5*.   Simply put, you don't feel like you are in Miami here.  The place is an old Bank with arches and architecture that you only see in Europe, Boston, and London. We had the pasta and sausage special.  Very good.  Very authentic tasting.  It tastes like an Italian grandmother was in the back cooking.  We also had the spinach salad and it was very good. Again, nothing fancy, but that added to the charm.  It was just good, simple food.  Just as they claim. The bread was also amazing! Crusty....something you don't find in Miami, ever.   There are lots of yelp complaints on the service, but I found the service good.  People were friendly, but left us alone unless we needed something. The first thing that hits you is the venue. The restaurant is in the entrance of the old Beaux Arts office building and is very laid back and comfortable. You should eat here just to support a business that is in such a cool old Miami building. One of those buildings that you think "Thank god they never tore this down".The food is very good and reasonably priced. I had the Ravioli Ai Funghi Porcini and absolutely loved it. While we ate they had a Jazz band that was really good. It wasn't too loud or too soft, just right to set a great vibe. They charged $2 to each of us for the music, but hey, you have to support the "starving artist" right.I must warn you that in the summer it is a little hot there, so sit close to the air conditioner, one of the many fans they have blowing and wear light, cool  clothes.  Buon appetito! Live music (jazz or guaguancó) Thursday through Saturday evening=THE BEST! I'm obsessed with the Fazzoletti di Formagio e Pera: little delicate pasta pillows filled with cheese and pear in a cream sauce. Decadent! The all around vibe is dark and romantic, set in what looks almost like an interior patio courtyard plaza of an old Italian home. There are also photos hanging and bookshelves that look nicely aged, but what is cool is, if you look up, it looks like a clothes line drawn across window to window with garments "drying" for that streets-of-Italy effect. Very cute. This place is wonderful for date night, or a bohemian night out with friends. The location might be sleepy by night, but the restaurant's interior is sure to please. The service can be a little friendlier, but experience and food make up for it. More...

Just ignore the servers' attitudes--they're Argentine. It's the busboys and the owner who are courteous. :)I had to start that way, but it's my only reservation about Soya. One of my havens from a busy schedule, it's a hideaway from deadlines and stress. The pastas are wonderful and come with a small salad. My other go-to is the steak salad or the Nicole salad (with salmon). Everything tastes healthy, fresh, and delicious, and while not inexpensive, is a decent value for the price. I am definitely a fan and love coming here to unwind and actually have a conversation. It's my way of pretending to be European, if only for the lunch hour. Prego! More...

This place caught my eye as I was on a 1.5 hour lunch break from jury duty (anyone else think the new federal courthouse is insanely nice? ).  I was just wandering around the area looking for any good place to sit and grab lunch.  The decor and arrangement of this place immediately stands out.  While indoors, it is pretty much entirely open to the outside, letting the late winter breeze in.  The walls are all in old style with a indoor home decoration scheme including a bookcase and tables without matching chairs.  It is quite inviting.  And once you wander in, the delicious smell in the air and friendly wait staff make sure you stay and order a bite to eat.Ordered a lello panini (eggplant) the first time and the second, tortellini arianna.  Both were great. Followed each with a caffe latte. Honestly, in true Italian fashion, the meals beg to be followed by coffee, plus I needed the boost to make it through the afternoon session.  Very satisfying meals.  Portion sizes felt just right and a fair price for downtown. The wait staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful.  The second time thru, a chef ended up ringing up my order as they were temporary short of people.  My card was charged the incorrect amount, as soon as I pointed this out, they quickly rectified the situation by removing that charge and giving my a receipt of the canceled order on the card, just in case. Will certainly keep this place in mind next time I find myself downtown. I was visiting a friend in Miami who took me here after hearing rave reviews from coworkers. It didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was fantastic and the food impressive. The fazzoletti stuffed with cheese and pear then topped with shrimp ricotta sauce was delicious, as were the clams. Next time in Miami I will definitely go and try a different dish. A note, I don't think the atmosphere will be as nice during the day. The lighting and music at night is very inviting. More...

BEST DATE RESTAURANT! I love this place! It's small, intimate, love the live Jazz artists and they have good portion sizes! I went there with my boyfriend and neither of us like fish... I ordered the Filet Mignon and he ordered the lamb and both of our dishes were DELICIOUS! The portion size was huge so we shared with each other and were satisfied! (Unlike those tapas restaurants that are everywhere now where you pay $30 a person and leave hungry) Wine selection was great too and my boyfriend really appreciated the authenticity of the place. We had the Canoli's for dessert and they were okay.. fantastic experience and I am suggesting it to everyone I know. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Right off the bat, all you really need to know about this place is that it's a cozy, hole-in-the-wall, with delicious and authentic italian food, exceptional service, and a reasonable price. It's great for a casual business lunch (I had a job interview there) or an romantic dinner. The set up, even at their busiest times, is still very intimate and the Friday night that I went for a belated Valentine's dinner, they even had a live jazz band. I recommend trying the Carpaccio Di Manzo and Fazzoletti Di Formaggio E Pera (which my beau and I washed down with a bottle of Prosecco). I tried the Fazzoletti based on other yelp reviews and those yelpers didn't disappoint. Pear and cheese ravioli was the perfect mix of sweet and savory down to the last bite.I also just want to add that the waitress gave us space but was still very attentive. She was like a italian ninja who just came at the right moments. I really can't stand servers who check in every 5 minutes because it's feels like just a constant interruption, even though they mean it with the best intentions. More...

Finally a place in Miami with superb Italian cuisine at affordable prices.  And of course, good service...remember, I don't care how good your food is, if I get bad service I don't go back. I love the menu selection and attention you get right from the second you walk in.  I like the fact that the location kind of brings you out of the busy streets of Miami and locates you in a small village somewhere.  Tables and chairs don't match, bookcase for a wall / divider, clothes hanging above...you get the picture.Been there 2-3 times and I will definitely go back.  Food is cooked with passion - the way it should be.  Affordable as well.Hard Truth More...

Stopped by here for a pre-half-marathon dinner. Though hours are listed as 7pm they were not ready for customers until 730p.  The hostess was attentive and let us know that there was a film crew the night before so the kitchen was backed up. We did stay and there were several parties after us that waited out the delay as well. Our food did come out super fast. I had the spaghetti ragu. It totally hit the spot and the homemade pasta was perfect mix of chewy and al dente. We didn't have resies so sat on the sidewalk. The interior has a lovely art deco charm with vaulted ceilings and antique furniture. My friend's pal mentioned her sister got married there. More...

Probably my favorite place for lunch downtown. I've only been here once, but this place is fantastic. Very simple, lovely Italian food. Great interior design. It feels like you're having a meal at an old friend's house. Bookshelves around the walls, and mismatched furniture. I love this place! It's so comfortable and right in the middle of downtown! This is a one of a kind restaurant in Miami due to its locale and interior. This open air dining room, inside a rustic building with a clothesline hanging above your head and live music act makes for a pleasant, romantic experience. Definitely recommend for a date or double date rather than for a group of rowdy friends. The food quality was mixed, from excellent (pear shrimp ravioli, eggplant parmesan) to just ok (penne pasta). Will go back both for the vibe and to try more of their dishes. More...

So *this* is where you get real Italian food in Miami. Good to know. The decor is bohemian and fascinating. You're basically eating in the foyer of what used to be a grand Beaux Arts office building that has been allowed to decay somewhat, and then decorated with the sort of devil-may-care intentional carelessness that is a hallmark of great interior design. There's live music, and books. The kitchen is small but fast and you'll be sitting half inside, half outside, so dress accordingly. They have heaters for chilly nights, and a great wine selection. Romantic, hip, out of the way, fun, good food...and pretty much everyone who works there is Italian. (For extra authenticity, go here on a date with an actual Italian. I dare you not to be impressed.)Soya e Pomodoro is an excellent restaurant, very unusual for Miami. The vibe is cool without a hint of pretentiousness and the food is delicious. What more do you need?Highly, highly recommended. More...

Loved it!Delicious fresh pasta. and the ambiance is to die for.  You are immediately transported to a different world as soon as you cross the threshold. This is not the place for you if:- You can't without AC. There are fans with mist and keeps it comfy, but not good for you if you NEED AC.- You want fast service- You dont' like carrying cash with you. With that said, strongly reccomended for a date night or a night out with friends. I believe they have a live band on Fridays and Saturdays.I reccomend the clams (appetizer), the ravioli in walnut sauce and the panna cotta. The best panna cotta i've ever had. Do not be deceived by its simple looks. You'll love it.The only reason i dont give this place 5 stars is because they don't take credit cards, which would have made my experience perfect. More...

I ate here about 3 days ago. I always walk past this spot and it is the coolest looking little spot with all this crazy stuff in it, bookshelves filled with books written in either English, Italian or Greek. If you weren't there to eat, you could wander around for a good bit of time checking all  the cool vintage stuff out.But I was there to eat, they are definitely authentic and I felt a little out of place not being able to order my usual spinach dip or something that I was able to pronounce the name of, but I just decided to go out on a limb and try something new.So I ordered the Salmon Carpaccio and Beef Carpaccio appetizers with a side of mashed potatoes. They were both delicious and so different. The salmon was topped with mandarin oranges, olives, and a bunch of other stuff that gave it a fruity zingy taste, and the beef was served with simply arugula and fresh parmesean which had a much milder taste. I loved them both, but the Beef was probably my favorite.I left my house with the intention of getting a burger or something, unsure of what I really wanted. This was not at all what I was looking for, but none the less, I am very happy with what I found. Two thumbs up! More...

Not the typical location for a restaurant. Nestled among antique furniture, art and books in the open breezeway of a downtown building, you will find this little gem. The food is Italian and it's done well. My favorite is the mushroom ravioli with creamy walnut sauce...delicious! I've gone a few times with co-workers  and everyone has enjoyed their meal. So a friend and I happen to park out in front when we looked up and saw an interesting entrance, very old European. Tall arch ways, fans with mist and the most important part--good smelling food. This is definitely one for the most unique places downtown, and allows you to feel like you've stepped into a little piece of Europe every time you sit down. Had lunch here today and felt like I was lifted out of Miami downtown to southern Italy.  The architecture is what attracted us here, built between what was once 2 buildings, covered, open air, fans with mist to keep you cool, thrift store antique furniture, and old book cases serve as wall dividers, local art work hangs on the walls, and fancy iron work gates line the entrance.  It's absolutely beautiful.  Had the back tea with mint which was very refreshing.  Tried Chicken Saltimbocca thin layer of chicken breast topped with prosciutto and mozarella (hard to go wrong).  What added kick was asking for their "hot sauce"... you don't get the flaky red pepper, it's home made - bird eye chili soaked in olive oil.  Really added a kick to the chicken.  The potatoes were delicious and flavorful, and the chicken was served on a bed of thinly sliced zucchini and vegetables.  My only complaint was that the cheese could have been more melted and hot when served and the prosciutto less cooked.  But other that, it was delicious.  Also tried the chicken with Funghi or basically mushrooms which was also very tender and delicious.  What really gives it 4 stars is the atmosphere plus the great prices.  The full entree plus salad and bread was just 11 or 12 bucks, which is really great considering the portion size and getting to enjoy it in such a richly adorned interior.  Sit down with a friend, take your time, grab a cappuccino and enjoy a dessert here  - the desserts did look realllly good but my chicken saltimbocca took all of my stomach real estate this time around. What do you get when you cross a yard sale with an Italian kitchen then toss in a library? Soya e Pomodoro. I'm not sure how to effectively review this very unique . ..ummm restaurant. The chairs don't match. The tables are all unique. The library... wait, it has a library Hold on, this was a restaurant review... and they serve Italian food in the middle of downtown Miami in what feels like a hallway of an old building? I'm confused and I'm writing this review. Is it indoor or outdoor seating? Is the sky blue? Is the sun hot? I'm confused!!I figure I'd mention this, there was a minor scene filmed in this restaurant for the TV show Burn Notice where the location was filling in for a restaurant in SOUTH AMERICA (Columbia). I don't remember the exact episode, but it was in Season 5. Anyways, back to your regularly scheduled review...There is no A/C, but it isn't too hot either because they have some very questionably setup fans high above the tables. I have only been here for lunch and they are reasonably paced at getting the food out. I've had the ravioli (in a white creme sauce), Penne Affumicate, Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, and quite a few other dishes. They are all quite good. The odd cow-hide like menus have always taken me aback... sorry, stream of conscious speaking out. Bottom Line: Worthwhile for lunch, but don't come with a large party because space is rather limited. More...
