I cannot get over how accommodating Tori and Alana were... I mean totally saved the day on my wedding. I POURED rain and we had to rearrange everything, including where cocktail hour was and all appetizers that went with it. Alana and her team, without hesitation, took charge of the situation and solved the problem beautifully. My husband & I were walking downtown last week & noticed the beautiful artwork adorning this building, but initially thought the restaurant was closed as the downstairs space is undergoing heavy renovations. Once we realized that the Mexican restaurant above was open, we checked out the menu and vowed to come back,and boy, are we glad we did!When we first arrived, there was only one other patron, but we were very warmly greeted by the owner and head chef, Ricardo. He went over the menu with us and made some recommendations, including their margaritas made with fresh lime, orange, lemon & pineapple. He suggested that my husband try his with Mezcal, & brought over a sample, which immediately won hubby over. The margaritas were fantastic---hands down, the best we've had anywhere, including in Mexico. The chips were homemade & also the best we've ever had---hot, crispy, nicely oily and fresh---& served with a phenomenal aioli & smoky salsa.Our meals--we both got the taco trios, one with beer battered cauliflower (divine), one with a mixture of mushrooms (delicious), & one with plant based protein & mole sauce (the only one we didn't love but neither of us are big fans of pbp & really just wanted to try the mole sauce. Ricardo & the bartender, Aaron, were both friendly and attentive, & we were happy to see other diners arriving before we left, who were similarly enjoying their meals.The decor in the place is fun & funky, & we learned that a local brewery is moving in downstairs, which will hopefully bring more patrons in. I had my birthday dinner here and it was fabulous! The chef and owner Ricardo went out of his way to make me feel so special. The vegan menu was ridiculously yummy. I had the street corn app, cauliflower app, and empanadas and everything was delicious! The space is beautiful and perfect for a small or large dinner party. If you have not been here, do not turn away. The entrance is under construction but this gem is worth a few awkward steps to reach. We chose everything to be prepared vegan. We had a wonderful experience at Polanco! We have several food allergies, and the chef came out and checked our allergens, then asked if he could make something special for us, which he did. It was amazing and we had such a great time! The waitress was also exceptional, and was able to tell us what was close together in the kitchen, and which things should be avoided. We had our first trip to Ashville this weekend and ate dinner here last night. I was able to order the mole burrito off of the vegan menu and my husband had the mole bowl. The beer battered cauliflower appetizer was also delicious!!  The chef stopped by our table and brought us a sample of the mole to try. The service was wonderful!!! OMG, we got lucky!  Apparently we were in town on a super busy Memorial Day weekend.  We used Yelp and found this place.  We went through the reservation process and got a table for 6 and found out when we got there that they were closed that night due to 2 very large private parties but they honored our reservation which is a huge plus.  We had our own private little area where we started with Chips and Margaritas.  The drinks were great and the Guacamole was also super.  I also ordered some fried cauliflower that was outstanding.  For my meal I was trying to go low carb so I got a side of Poblano with corn.  Had no idea what I would get but it was about the best veggie I can remember.  For my meal I got skewers of filet and shrimp that were pretty darn good as well.  Overall a great experience and our waitress was incredible.  6 of us and a girls party of around 20!  We were in and out in just over an hour and had a fabulous evening.  Thanks for accommodating Polanco!  We will come back. Tori and Chef Ricardo were amazing. They were easy to work with and very responsive and helpful with all our questions. Tori handled most of the business and Ricardo planned the menu with us over the phone and customized the food to our vision. Everything was absolutely delicious - the mole sauce, empanadas, homemade mozzarella, and mezcal glazed BBQ pork sliders were all highlights for us. So was having Ricardo there in person grilling steaks and shrimp (cooked to perfection) on our wedding day.

I couldn’t have asked for a better caterer! They are professional and kind. Our caterer backed out very close to our wedding and we were scrambling to find a new one. Tori has been excellent to work with! She responded quickly (which means a lot to me) to my initial request (and every time I have asked a question)and has offered a wealth of knowledge. She and Chef Ricardo have been very accommodating, professional and a joy to work with. The place is amazing, starting from the decorations arriving to the food and drinks. Chef Ricardo and owner was so caring to explain us the dishes and advice the best ones, telling us about quality ingredients and preparation.
The ribs, chicken mole, fajitas and homemade tortillas are the best! Everything fresh and cooked with passion and old mexican traditions, very authentic!
