We recently engaged the services of Gina & Al to prepare and cook a 3 course meal for us and our family for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The service we received from start to finish was absolutely superb. We were out of area and, as such, had no knowledge of local catering companies and so I literally found Platters & Plates on line! What a find! Everything was arranged by email and Gina could not have been more accommodating in meeting our food requirements. She was prompt and efficient in responding to my emails and extremely obliging. In fact, several of us had different food choices which were all accommodated without fuss. The food on the day was the equivalent to eating in a 5 star restaurant at a fraction of the cost and because we were all in-house, everyone could enjoy a drink without having to worry about driving. I would truly recommend this new and innovative couple to anyone seeking to engage first class caterers, whatever the occasion! Thank you Gina and Al! More...

Gina provided a wonderful afternoon tea spread, delivered to the house we stayed in for a hen do weekend. The food was amazing (especially all of the desserts & cakes) and thoughtfully prepared and she accommodated our budget and the need for vegetarian options. It is often said that "You eat with your eyes first".
Platters and Plates styled buffets are presented on our own unique tableware with dedicated attention to displaying the dishes to enhance the visual experience for yourself and your guests.
Menu choices are suggested after consultation, with chef-owner Georgina, guiding your experience and ensuring that you are involved every step of the process, taking into account both meal requirements and budget.
Platters and Plates will include delivery of your freshly prepared options, the layout of the platters, and clean up of the dishes at the end of your function, taking all of the hassles out of catering for your events. Provision of crockery and cutlery, as well as staffing, can also be arranged to assist with serving at an extra cost.

What inspired you to start your own business?
As a partnership we have been in the catering Industry for a combined 50 years+. We have assisted many family, friends and colleagues to achieve their dreams with weddings, parties and charity events, and decided that it would be our goal to do this as our own business.
