I own Chicago Corporate Photography and Video here in Chicago and I was contacted and then hired by Planit Inc. to shoot an event here in Chicago. They contacted me almost 2 months prior to the event and were quite delayed in signing the contract, but they finally did 48 hours prior to the event. Planit Inc. had me send the contract to a couple different people each time but eventually someone signed. As one can imagine, preparing for a photoshoot takes some time and detail. We need to prepare our team and make sure everyone is available. Having to do this within 48 hours is a bit challenging but doable. The evening before the event, the client wrote me and said, the turn-out isn’t looking like what they expected and decided to cancel us. Our policy is that any contracts cancelled within 24 hours of the event (non- Covid related) will need to pay the full amount for services. It is spelled out thru-out the contract from the first time they contact us. When we notified them, they did not agree with having to pay for our services. This is simply not a good business practice and I want to let other companies know that this is not acceptable. Writing this review is to give the management at Planit Inc. an opportunity to learn about this and make the right decision. The next step will obviously be legal.
