Pippin Pet Services
Pippin Pets Dog Training offers a variety of packages for training your dog or puppy.
We only use force free, reward based training methods that have been scientifically proven to be most effective and kind. We encourage building the bond with your dog, and create a partnership of trust. We don't use any shouting, rough handling or painful corrections - it just doesn't work. Instead we prefer to encourage and pay (in tasty treats) the behaviours we want making them more likely to be repeated... just how dogs learn!
Our main service is 121 training where we can offer a bespoke training plan to suit you and your pup, at your own pace, and you have all my attention to coach you to get the best from your pup. Sessions are booked at times to suit, and occur in your home or in your regular walking spots. 121 is great for busy people, or for those dogs (and humans) that find group situations too stressful or distracting.
We also run puppy classes and workshops in Bramley, Surrey where we have small groups only.
Jo is trained by the Clever Dog Company (Sarah Whitehead), signs up to the APDT code of practice, and a member of the Pet Professional Guild (British Isles).

Pippin Pet Services Q&A
What do you love most about your job?
I thoroughly enjoy seeing the progress in the dogs and how happy the owners are with improvements to their relationship with their dog. Witnessing the 'genius' moments when pup and owner are in tune with each other is the best reward for me.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The area of dog training is very unregulated, and I have seen the damage a bad trainer can have long term on a dog. I wanted to make sure that a professional means that - someone who has studied, been assessed and is fit for purpose, as you would expect from any other professional (doctor, plumber, teacher etc). Dogs need a suitable education and I wanted to bring this ethical approach to this. Most of us get pets to have a bond and partnership, so I set up (after extensive training) to bring this to owners for their own pups.
Why should our clients choose you?
My belief is that dogs do not respond best to fear or pain, but by encouragement and trust. There are many still believing that we have to be a 'master' and be brutal (physically and mentally) to our animals....this is NOT what I sign up to.
I prefer to show a way to get your dog thinking - they love problem solving, using their brains and we need to show them the right way to do this, and harnessing their natural instincts.
I also enjoy coaching owners to be able to train their dog in an effective and kind way, seeing that bond grow and the relationship blossom.
