Traveling can be exhausting.  Driving through New England, and deciding to visit Cape Cod, we discovered Pilgrim House on Commercial Street, in PTown. Jerrod told us that it was a quiet time of year, he did have vacancies, and he had an elevator for his 3 story Inn.  He gave us a deal with a room and parking, and we drove into PTown and registered.  The room was lovely, bed very nice, linens were comfy. There was a TV in case...  Tub shower was ok for me, recovering from knee surgery.  We had lunch at nearby cafe hideaway that was delicious.  That evening, we joined a few folks at the bar, the Landing in The Pilgrim House, and finally settled on beet salad, mmmm, glass of Pinot Noir, and tiramisu which they served warm.  Darin kept us laughing during the several hours we were at the bar.  There was a continental breakfast which is very nicely prepared.  (In front of the Hotel is a breakfast place, purple bldg., that people talked about also.)  And we then walked breakfast off through town on the "main" street Commercial.  Very quiet in November, beautiful coast line. This review is about the Sunday Service Drag Brunch my friends and I attended this past weekend at the Landing Bistro & Bar that is in the Pilgrim House hotel. Why is no one talking about this  We were in town for the weekend from Dallas and just happened to find out about it when we had dinner there on Friday night. We were fortunate to have Mackenzie as our server. Not only is he super fun as a waiter but he is also the fabulous host of the Sunday Service Drag Brunch!!! We immediately made reservations forThe weather was terrible so the crowd was fairly small but Mackenzie and his friends put on an unforgettable show. We especially enjoyed the performance featuring music from Aqua. Great show and the best breakfast deal in Ptown at $18 for the buffet.  It was definitely the highlight of an amazing weekend. We stayed at this place for one night in late March 2019.  Although the town was still "hibernating" a bit, it was still a great visit.  We arrived very early after a red-eye and the hotel let us check in early to sleep off the jet lag, which was such a blessing!  Thanks Jarrod! The room was spacious and perfect for me and my two teenage kids.  The beds were super comfy with really soft pillows.  Continental breakfast was included, which was great after eating out every other meal.  Hotel is located near Main Street and everything was walkable from there. Really enjoyed staying there and would highly recommend. More...

Wonderful stay at the Pilgrim House this winter!  If you are looking for a contemporary hotel in a fantastic location... look no further.  The rooms were nicely furnished, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated.  The dining room was beautiful.  Commercial street was steps from the front of the hotel.  Location could not be better.  The only thing that exceeded the facilities was the amazing customer service.  My partner and I were greeted warmly and welcomed. My masculine name/feminine appearance at checkin was met with a smile.  Our four-legged kids were greeted just as kindly.  Excellent hotel, exceptional proprietor. More...

We came to providence on a Sunday afternoon, and after a long day of walking you knew that there were many restaurants, it appeared as if though there was one restaurant on every block.  The person in the front greeted us and was advertising by the menu in the front.  I normally stay away such restaurants because it meant either business was slow, food was bad, simply desperate for business or all of the above.  In addition, they were running a promotion where it was buy one entree and get second entree half price.  That was another red flag for me.  My group of 6 decided to come here for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised on the amazing food and service.  The person in the front, which appeared to be the owner if the restaurant, was really nice from beginning to end.  He did a lot of work, from advertising in the front to cleaning and clearing tables.  I was very impressed with his attitude and energy.  He realized my wife was pregnant and went next door to a candy store and got her a M&M chocolate pretzel stick.  He really didn't have to, but he did and said this is for her because she was pregnant. He was so nice!Tony, our waiter was very helpful in confirming and recommending great tasting dishes. And everything that we ordered from brussel sprouts, fried eggplant fries, lobster mac and cheese, a beef short rib dish, and mixed seafood dish. The taste of each dish was so flavorful and each bite allowed my tastebuds to dance with celebration. When I come back to Provincetown, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. More...

We stopped at the Pilgrim House while visiting P'town last weekend.  The place was just opening at noon and we were promptly seated at a booth.  The place is clean but rather simple inside, nothing fancy.  I had the hot open-faced turkey sandwich and although it was pressed turkey, it was delicious!  The gravy was delicately spiced and there was an abundance of tasty turkey!  Also included were french fries and a dollop of cranberry sauce on the side.  What a wonderful feast!  My only suggestion would be to offer mashed potatoes as an alternative to the fries, if possible.  Other than that, simple but great meal!  And very affordably priced, too! Quite possibly our new favorite restaurant on Cape Cod.The highlights:- all of the sliders... so flavorful with delicious and crispy buttered buns that take them to the next level!- the fries... crispy and perfectly seasoned- the lobster Mac and cheese... perfect portion and delicious cream sauce, with generous amounts of lobster We had more than the above, and it was all amazing. Only thing we didn't care for too much was the lobster bisque, only because it had a little too much cayenne for our liking. This too was loaded with lobster though! Our server Hattie was absolutely fantastic. She made the meal that much better with her smile, warm personality, and great conversation! I had a five star experience here. There were no negative items to report.Four of us stopped by for happy hour on a rainy Saturday. We had a late dinner that night and wanted some cocktails and raw bar early. The owner came over to greet us once we sat down, as did the server. The owner was very nice and had a lot of energy. I wasn't drinking that night so she made me a virgin Blackberry Mojito. It hit the spot. Our friends got bloody Mary's and perfect Manhattans. They raved about the cocktails and also mentioned that they were made strong (the way they like them). We were upstairs in the bar/ lounge area which was perfect. It was very clean and comfortable. We ordered a dozen and a half oysters and a dozen and half shrimp. The food was all great. The shrimp were the biggest type restaurants carry (collosal I think), but they weren't rubbery or tough at all. They were very fresh and crisp. They also gave us extra horseradish. The bar was 80% full. We didn't have to wait to be seated, or wait for food or drinks. I liked the music they were playing and several guests were singing along. There was a nice breeze coming in from the open patio doors. A few guests sat out on the balcony where you can look out over commercial street. I didn't pick up the check on this one so I can't speak to the price. I would definitely hang out there again in the future. It was upscale but still centrally located/ in the action of commercial street. More...

We walked in on a recommendation- there's a new chef here and we wanted to check it out. (Btw... It's called Pilgrim House now, although new signage seems to be forthcoming)Started with drinks- we got martinis off the menu which were great. .. Cucmber basil and a plum vodka martini. The restaurant was very quiet, but the food was exceptional. Started with lamb sliders... Forget mint jelly, blueberries work even better! They were cooked perfectly and the flavors were unique but complementary. For dinner the bf had scallops and I had the seafood stew/curry/magic. Scallops were super fresh, well prepared, and delicious on their own... The avacado mousse/foam/whatever was a perfect match for them. The moqueca was really delicious. A Thai curry/ Thai mussels/Latin American seafood stew mashup. The lime juice was prominent and the curry was mild- the shrimp and clams and mussels were stellar. We will definitely be back... Sage offered the perfect venue for our small, mid-day wedding of 14 people. The room was elegant, the food and drink was gourmet class and the service was top tier. We held our ceremony and reception in the Gallery Room upstairs which had a vaulted ceiling with sky lights, lighting was perfect for photography, and created a glorious feel for our ceremony. (I was glad we chose to host indoors instead of their outdoor garden room for the controlled lighting and the air conditioning, we took photos indoors and later by their garden wall). David, the event planner worked with me entirely by email and then phone. He was very receptive, provided excellent referrals for a photographer, Dan McKeon, florist, Wildflower, and the cake baker,  Alaina, the chef 's wife. Their chef Lucio, created an extraordinarily delicious meal from my hand picked assemblage of their menu offerings, and Rasa , their bartender created a custom exotic non-alcoholic drink for our toast. The serving staff, Max and Tom were also very personable and shared  in our joyous day while making things flow effortlessly, serving, adjusting A/C, and adjusting our bluetooth speaker music volume as we progressed through the day's program. SAGE INN:The Sage Inn restaurant had the best food hands down of any place I had dinner in Ptown this year. I rarely ever eat fish, but their Halibut was my favorite and the best fish I've ever had. It was pan-seared and meaty, but still light enough, and served with an exceptional celery root purée. I stayed at the Sage Inn for three nights and enjoyed dinner there every night. One night, I sat at the bar near the kitchen and watched things unfold. Greatly appreciated seeing the new executive chef and his team at work. The braised beef au poivre and the chicken dish are excellent as well. I want to give an extra shout-out to the bartender, Juan Carlos. He adds a classy and lively element to the bar.
