We have worked with Lawrence Mound with Pictogram Design for many years and have always been pleased with his work. In the past, we have used his services for website design, logo design and marketing collateral. With each project, we have loved the final product. Lawrence is extremely creative, very knowledgeable in his craft and always delivers a high level of customer service. His 30+ years of experience in the marketing field is evident each time you work with him and other marketing firms/freelance professionals just can't offer the same quality of work. I highly recommend his services. More...

Mr. Mound was retained to assist in the commercial launch of a new company (a business unit being spun out of a larger business). The schedule was unreasonably tight, and interaction with company executives was limited (largely to off-hours). Mr. Mound was asked to develop a completely new web presence from scratch. This project also included development of a company logo, collateral materials, photo gallery, customer service and marketing modules, and other consultive contributions. An incredible amount of work was compressed into a 4-5 week period resulting in a flawless company launch. The client was overjoyed with the outcome and elected to retain Mr. Mound's group for ongoing support. Mr. Mound has deep knowledge in his field, is very client-centric, and is amazingly productive. I continue to call on him from time to time when I need expert advice on online trends and tools. More...

Lawrence (Larry) is a fantastic graphic designer. I've worked with him on outsourced graphic design work over two companies (one a division of a Fortune 100 company, and one a small boutique company). Larry has a unique ability to immediately grasp complex and intangible ideas - and translate those ideas into hard-hitting, professional visuals. He has helped to set up PowerPoint clean-up support, where he ensure brand-compliant and professional looking content for internal and external presentations. He has built everything from case study PDFs to main stage keynote presentations at large trade shows. Larry can be trusted to work directly with all levels from engineer to CEO, and asks exactly the right questions to better hone both the core message and visual presentation.

Larry is someone you can trust to get the job done. He is always easy to get a hold of, puts in the extra work over nights and weekends to help when needed, and goes the extra mile wherever he can. I recommend him without reservation.

Q&As

A successful web site is a clean design and captures the viewers interest, clear and easy navigation critical to allow your viewers access the information they need quickly. The messaging should definitely be web-speak, (Short and addresses your Unique Selling Points and reinforces the market and brand messaging). Websites today should be integrated into all related social media channels. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube etc.

The questions would really depend on the project. But a good example is the project were any advertising channel, my focus would be on reaching to the primary demographics your current and potential customers fit in. This would be one of the key areas that would help in developing a good, creative advertising program that gets results. The second would be determining the USPs for the specific product or services to be promoted. (Unique Selling Points)

1. Initial meetings with client regarding services/customer demographics (if data available)
2. Determine if we need to expand the demographics and identify any additional potential customer pains and needs
3. Develop the USPs (unique selling points) based on discovery of the above process
4. Start creative conceptualization of project or campaign based on data developed.
5. review process and concepts with customer and make any changes or refocus of market message
6. Upon review, proceed to final production of deliverables.

This too depends on the project and what is required. Illustration projects can vary drastically as compared to a Brand design and management, website or advertising project. Most important would be the budget of the project so there is no miscommunication of expectations and possibly recommend a shift if required.

The creative process and delivering the impactful project deliverables that address the design , and most important is getting the positive and successful results.

After working in Advertising and B2B Marketing Communications for most of my career, I decided to launch out on my own and enjoy running a shop of my own.

Creativity, and determination to provide an end product that exceeds the customers expectations.
