I was lucky enough to meet Kendi, and adopt him in December. He has made great strides — still shy but so loving! We are so grateful to the PCHS for giving us the chance to love this precious pooch!

We live in Taylors but we saw the sweetest dog on The Pickens County Humane Society’s Page. We drove there to meet Nugget(aka Hank) today. It was such a pleasant experience. They let us play with him, hold him, etc for as long as we wanted. He still had to be neutered but they set that all up for us. It was such an easy process. They had all the paperwork ready, etc. We can’t wait to bring him home to meet his human siblings and fur sister! More...

I adopted a mini Doxie named Baron about year and half ago. He has became my BFF but felt he needed a friend to play with so I adopted another small dog. Rescue dogs are so special. They steal your heart and love unconditionally. If you're looking for a furever friend go to a shelter first. More...

I adopted my Cairn Terrier Callie from Pickens County Humane Society about 5 years ago. I was looking for a companion for my male Cocker, Bentley. I had to have my female Cocker put down. Callie and Bentley are inseparable. Bentley is getting old and has chronic bronchitis. I am looking for another dog to bring in and become part of our family. I will be going back to Pickens Humane Society. More...

I adopted Cooper, a little chihuahua mix, and I love him dearly. I'm so happy to have him in our lives. He is so sweet, a real snuggle buggle! He is settling in with his two new "sisters" and is very well behaved. The good people at the Pickens Co Humane Society were so kind to me, even allowing my husband to come meet Cooper on the weekend when he was home. I really liked the vet clinic that they sent Cooper to for his neuter surgery, also, and will be taking my babies there for their vet needs in the future. God bless you all for what you do for the pets in our area. More...

We went out today and decided to adopt fidget. Let me tell you best experience I have had in a long time from a animal shelter. They told me important info upfront and we appreciate that. We are excited to bring home our new baby Monday. Also they didn't make us feel like it was a interrogation to adopt. Very pleased wish more were like you! More...

On Thursday, I saw an advertisement for a puppy named Star. I called right before the Humane Society closed for the day (literally 4 minutes before, I didn't expect anyone to answer). Surprisingly, a guy answered and was super helpful in answering my questions about the puppy! I came by Friday afternoon and was given the opportunity to meet and play with Star for as long as I needed to decide if she was what I was looking for. I knew almost instantly that she would be the puppy for my family. The lady that was working that day was also super helpful and made the process of adoption incredibly easy! Little Star came home with me that day and has been one of the happiest, most well behaved puppies we've ever had. She's incredibly smart and already sits on command as well as being potty trained. She's exactly what we were looking for and has already made herself at home. She's also best friends with my Dad now and will be incredibly spoiled! More...

We adopted three fur babies this week, and the staff was very helpful in spite of being so short staffed. Our children had a wonderful experience, and we are so excited to begin our life with our new "family" members. Thank you PCHS!!!
