I would HIGHLY recommend Photography To Remember! I met Amy 4 years ago (2015) for her to photograph my third son's birth (Joel), she was simply incredible! Since then Amy has followed us and our family through many, many milestones, she photographed Joel's newborn shoot, a family shoot when Joel turned 1, we then got pregnant with our fourth and Amy was right there too. She photographed a live gender reveal in her studio when we found out we were expecting our first daughter! A memory thanks to Photography To Remember we won't forget. Amy also did a glam and girly maternity shoot, she captured our daughter, Taylor's birth, did a newborn photoshoot and recently did a sitter session too. Had a sitter shoot with Amy this weekend. Got two images on the same day as the shoot, so different from my previous experiences of shoots. Beautiful photos! Can't wait to see the rest! Amy and her sister were lovely. My baby was acting up and a bit teary and they were really understanding. Towards the end of the shoot he started feeling better and Amy suggested we try doing some more photos, totally off the cuff. Got some lovely images there too. Can't wait to see my photos! I'm not going to lie, I have never been convinced that a maternity shoot was for me. However, when my Mum suggested getting in touch with Amy after looking at her pictures, I figured, why not? I decided to get my hair and makeup done through Amy's recommended contact Nicole, and when I looked in the mirror I felt like a Hollywood superstar (with a big tummy)! When you approach the end of your pregnancy you feel enormous, not at all glamorous, but this is where Amy was just amazing! She made me feel so comfortable and was so encouraging. Lighting. Know your camera ability and know how best to position your clients for the best results.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are your favourite colours? What type of family are you? Do you enjoy the outdoors or a walk in the forest?
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing maternity clients come back and I meet the newborns that they were growing in their bellies.
What inspired you to start your own business?
A horrid boss who said I would make a pathetic mother while on IVF treatment to fall pregnant. I never wanted to work for someone again, so I decided to move on and start my own thing.

Because I have your best interests at heart and I will go to any length to make it happy for you.

Remotely, as Photography is a personal service, we meet in person on a location or in my studio to complete the sessions.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I wear my mask no matter what or where we are and I keep 2m apart all the time.
My studio is deep cleaned before and after every session.
Maternity Photography
Booking your maternity shoot in advance is a good idea, this way you have time to prepare and get excited about your photography session. We booked all sessions between 33 and 38 weeks along, however, if you are experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, please do get in touch with me sooner. High-risk pregnancies are the most unknown factor and rather have your photography session a little earlier than miss it completely should something unexpected happen. Obviously we hope not but it’s better to be safe and in winter in Cape Town, the weather is unpredictable too. Fortunately, as your photographer, I have a studio which can be our back up option if need be.
Newborn Photography
Newborn photography is taking photographs of your new little baby that has entered your family. They are tiny for a short period of time and capturing their smallest details for you to remember.
You waited 9 months for this little newborn bundle of joy to arrive in your arms. Your newborn is here and the new journey can begin as a family. Your newborn photoshoot will take place anywhere from 6 to 21 days from the birthday of your baby. If your little one is premature and had to stay in the NICU for a few weeks, don’t worry, premie babies do give us more time.
Family Photography
Family Photography is a time to capture who are you as a family now, Taking time to capture your kids playing together, interacting with you and of course remembering how it all started with you and your partner.
Taking your family for their family photo shoot on the beach, the forest, the V & A Waterfront or any of the fabulous venues that our fair city has to offer. The most important aspect of having a family shoot is that you and your family stays true to who you are. Are you the kind of family that spends hours at the beach on the weekends, playing around in the waves and building sandcastles? Or are you the type of family that enjoys dressing up and going out for dinner? No matter what you and your family enjoy it is important to keep that memory alive. I will never force you to be something you are not. If you spend hours outside then we will have a shoot on the beach. Many years down the road you can look back and remember some of those good times on our beautiful beaches, and in the same breath if you enjoy dressing up and going out to dinner then a more posed and directed shoot at the Waterfront will be your shoot.
