What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
An open mind and loads of experience. Each venue is different. Each person is different. Taking a great photograph involves weighing in personalities, location, and light, among other things. The formula is never the same.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Show me some examples of photos you like. Are there any specific shots you want me to take? What sort of lighting will be at your event? Are you looking for standard or personalized headshots? Are you uncomfortable in front of the camera? What feelings would you like your photographs to convey?
What do you love most about your job?
Each job is a new puzzle I can solve. Each client wants something unique. Not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera yet.Making a positive impact on people is what I love most about my job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
In college I was asked to photograph a semi-formal event for Alpha Phi Omega at Christopher Newport University. I had been photographing events and people for years, but after facing the challenge of capturing the life of a party... let's just say I fell in love with the work.
