What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Great photographs are a collaboration between photographer and subject. I strive to help my clients feel confident in front of my camera and that shows in the photographs we make together.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Where should my portrait be taken? I will then ask the client where it is that they are most comfortable and confident. That is the place where we need to see about working together. Sometimes it's as simple as a favorite location outdoors. Other times, we make special arrangements to use a location that holds special meaning to them or their family.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy working with the people and seeing them enjoy their portraits. It's wonderful to hear that I have given them special care and made them feel great about who they are.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was enjoying taking photos of Santa and children for our Chamber when my Mom said that I needed to do it for work. She was the one who really saw how much I enjoyed what I was doing and pushed me to make it my business. She even named the business Photographic Memory.
